It’s because Evan Rachel Wood pulled an Amber Heard on Marilyn Manson and they felt obligated to write her as “strong independent woman.” It later turned out she was lying worse than Amber was, the trial just wasn’t publicized for some reason.
You’re right I meant to say the entire incident isn’t very publicized, I doubt the trial will be either. All the evidence and information released however makes her look worse than Amber and Amber cut off a man’s finger
Sure thing bud. Just like all the media “corroborated” everything Amber Heard said until it became a circus filled with lies. Women should stop lying for attention, it’s getting sad
The thing is, Manson himself has admitted to being completely fricked up when he was with ERW. Shit like cutting himself while calling her a hundred times on christmas day and keeping coke bags nailed to the walls in his house. The lyrics on Emdm, Heol and Born villain doesnt come from nothing.
However bad you think that drop is,
is absolutely right. Season 2 at least has a ckuple of great episodes even if the season as a whole felt like vamping for time. Seasons 3 and 4 are just irredeemable.

3 had potential to be great. The backstory and competitor doing a crazy ai that gets trained from all the data harvested from westworld was a good backdrop. They completely fricked it up in execution because they had a lot of loose ends to deal with and fricked it up with the super woman host shit.
What never failed to take me out of it was how hosts were either indestructible killing machines or basically humans that bleed clear, all at the whim of the plot, that and how no death ever seemed permanent. It made it really difficult to feel any sort of suspense.
Never was this more ridiculous than at the end of Season 4 when Bernard is telling hosts they won't make it when we all now they can get resurrected in 5 minutes if the show feels like it
Season three felt like an entirely different show. I would have stuck with Westworld for the long haul if they just kept spinning their wheels like in Season 2. It was 3 that ruined it
You can tell that they were aware that they had lost everyone's interest at the that point and so decided to stop investing much effort into the show. At least season 2 still had decent enough production value, though the writing was irredeemably moronic.
1 was a perfect ending for people with brains and everything else is for homosexuals who need more and more closure. The only somewhat dangling thread was Maeve, whose plotline sucked AND basically concluded with her going back for her daughter and likely proving she was a pawn the whole time.
The unnecessary injection of mud people into movies and tv really washes things down.

halores and Dolores MIB fight over the extinction of all humans and hosts. DMIB wants Total Global Death and Halores has no real motivations except to stop DMIB (maybe she wants to save the remaining hosts so she can forcibly transcend them? not clear. that plot point is never fully explored and is dropped completely)
DMIB is stopped by Halores because she was guided by Bernard who can see every possible future and engineered their conflict to ensure the survival of hosts and humans
Total Global Death is achieved anyways, and the only remaining vestige of host and human life is in a perfect multiverse simulator called "The Sublime" which is The Valley Beyond that the hosts escaped to in the finale of Season 2 (worth noting here that the sublime was actually a successful utopian posthuman civilization unlike halores's prison planet)
A Dolores clone called "Christina" who is basically just the heroic, empathetic, and altruistic version of Dolores from Season 1 is placed in the sublime by Halores, who kills herself, and Christina has perfect cognitive mappings of all humans from the past 30 years or so (due to the rehoboam data and halores's brain chips) and some older humans who visited westworld after the mind-scanning hats were implemented (this is how she resurrected real William in the post credits scene of Season 2)
Christina is going to be running simulations in the sublime to see if humans can be reprogrammed to stop them from destroying themselves and to see if it is possible for hosts and humans to coexist or achieve some type of symbiosis and return to a real physical existence on earth
The final scene shows Christina recreating the original westworld park in the sublime for "one last game" (combine this with season 2's post credits scene she is likely going to literally simulate everything that ever happened in westworld and then on earth for the past 50 years or so to recreate it to have a happy ending)

The show after S1 is shot through with mean-spirited feminist cope, particularly the treatment of Caleb. They try to pull up on the stick by introducing "Christina" in S4 who is softer and more sympathetic version of Dolores and also Teddy, who is cucked but far less than Caleb, but it's all too late. Interesting observation as both shows seem to suffer from the same thing: the writers really had no idea where to go after burning through the setup/premise and - lacking the courage or IQ to stick the landing of a conventional ending - opted to to make the shows "sexy" and "mysterious" instead. This is why I think S3 is filmed almost entirely in downtown Singapore. I don't think it has anything to do with any plan for the series. I think it's just that the people making it wanted to film in downtown Singapore and brag that they did all this sexy filming. The alternative would have been to stay on some dusty backlot in California like they're filming westerns in the 1960's and hanging out in trailers instead of nice hotels and for what? They had no idea where to go with the story anyway? Might as well do the sexy nonsense show that gets canceled.

I think this is true, especially as it pertains to BSG. The show had plenty of material to sustain several seasons even if it suck to season 1's example. The religious stuff was good flavoring and could have been tied into the Cylons' plan, but they shoved it into the forefront before they had any clear idea what any of it meant. To me the clearest illustration of how the show fell apart is in comparing how Boomer's identity as a Cylon was handled in the miniseries and season 1 versus the hacky twist of the Final Five later. Not everything needs to be planned out, but there should be purpose behind the improvisations. The show waits to establish Boomer as a character before the Cylon reveal so there's investment in her as a person and a character. It's not just there to surprise the audience, if anything it's deliberately un-surprising so the dramatic stakes are never overshadowed. But ultimately RDM is kind of a hack, so cheap twists and MYSTERY defined the show.

Bro you missed out. Shit was trashfire kino.
There was a group of us that were watching S4 and early on it was looking like the show might be turning around but it took another nosedive again by the end and itw as just gloriously bad.
Can't believe it's been a year since this shitty show and The Orville
I remember briefly being fooled into thinking they might do something interesting with William since they kept him alive, but no. Instead we had to endure Ed Harris making a reference to video games and just blowing everything up.
>The whole human William being killed/usurped by his Host clone was fricking kino
Except his clone was cucked and significantly more moronic. He was a simp. Plus, it was a re-do of Cicero from Gladiator getting replaced by a clone who is a dumber, cucked-out version.
It's well-shot but in context it's pretty stupid. William twisting the Host in Black as post-mortem revenge is sort of poetic, but it didn't feel convincing to me at all and felt to me like squandering both characters at once.
well yeah thats why I said it was a flash of kino not actual kino
im not defending the season 4, i agree that it is absurd that DMIB is somehow twisted by MIB into an omnicidal maniac after talking to him twice
also the show contradicts itself
real william is an outlier, so shouldn't talking to him already have caused halores and DMIB to become suicidal? Same thing with caleb. shit just doesn't make sense.
another excellent scene which belonged in a better overall season of television
(also, this one also involves Ed Harris... im detecting a pattern here)
I'm sure someone will finally pull that off... maybe they could mash the best bits of 3 and 4 into a single season? I feel like together there is enough good material to make a something which is watchable
I feel like you'd have to just cut up the entire thing and re-storyboard it into some kind of completely new narrative, possibly using text walls or even voice over narration. There is too much you have to completely remove. Like, I don't know how most of Jesse Pinkman scenes stay in. There is just too much good in the show to let it get memory holed though.

It seems like its riding on his presence to sell it. That's not a good scene, the writing is still shit. All very bland. So bland.
I agree. There are a few cool moments in season 2, but it shits the bed overall. For me, I just consider Westworld as a mini-series limited to season one.
I unironically liked all the seasons and was saddened to hear they cancelled it. It just showed me how low IQ the average viewer is.
But this makes sense, all HBO shows start off very ethereal and extremely well written, gain a cult following, then normies hear about it and they have to literally reduce it to Marvel-tier writing and explain every little thing. I'm glad Westworld didn't get this treatment thoughever and they just cancelled it.
>literally reduce it to Marvel-tier writing
Did you miss the Resident Evil-tier fight between Maeve and Dolores? Have you seen the last two seasons of Westworld at all?
They should've just stopped after Season 1. The ending was even fitting for that for the most part.
I only kept watching because of Evan Rachel Wood but I also watched fricking Kajillionaire because of that.
every episode of season 3 post-genre is actually bad though
theyre not even technically competent in the same way that the episodes from seasons 1 2 and 4 are
>season 1 ends with the niggress ascending to feminism godhood while the white males kneeled down
That was the most American scene I've ever seen and since I'm not a cuckstanny I dropped it all and never got to see S2.
2 still had a couple good episodes, one of which tied-up the William arc pretty well (Riddle of the Sphinx). People liked the self-contained Ghost Nation episode, too.
S2, the show was still recoverable. S3 is when it well and truly went to shit.
This. A couple of gems but it was going off the tracks
S1: Delos is frantically trying to use spies to exfiltrate park IP
S2: Ackshually Delos staff are onsite running the Cradle
This is a show that ostensibly had a 5 season story bible (per HBO requirements after the original S1 was so terrible it had to be extensively reshot) and they still didn't bother being even remotely consistent
WW was supposed to premiere on HBO nearly 2 years before it actually did, and be the second coming of GoT (when it was good). The network saw all 10 episodes and howled at how bad it was, ordered a rewrite and reshoots. Go watch that scene where Abernathy picks the photo out of the dirt again: when he reaches for it it's a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge but when it's in his hands, it's the Times Square photo. Even Louis Herthum (the guy playing him) was cagey about that when asked on Twitter.
Ghost nation was a beautiful gem that helped to extend lore and improve the storytelling. They should have done more things like that. I guess it was just too hard to do.
I think once sentient AI that can look like us appear I'll kill myself and probably try and take some politicians with me, because it's legitimately over for everyone at that point anyway.
I was hyped and onboard with S3 when it looked like it was gonna be corpo-espionage kino with Ed Harris, then they took a 180 and sent him to an insane asylum instead.
I finished S1 recently on the trusted recommendation that everything afterwards is unnecessary. The way the last episode ends is great, they clearly said all they had to say by that point. Most works of fiction only dream of building up to a climax that resounding. Shame they ran it into the ground
Westworld fans should consider themselves lucky that the first season mostly works as a self-contained story. Most serialized shows that go to shit aren't nearly as lucky because there isn't an obvious stopping point and the bad decisions infect everything.
His wife was behind #MeToo. Dude is a CIA plant. Destroying "nerd fandoms" or whatever is probably his assignment as part of the ongoing domestic color revolution. Can't have anything distracting people anymore. Gotta push everyone into politics for 20 years of the Great Demoralization, which we're only about halfway through.
Haven't seen it or the film in a long time but wasn't season 1 just a fleshed out version of the film? It's not a surprise that season 2 immediately fell off a cliff.
No. First film was The Terminator set in a western theme park. Second film was some gay post-Nixon thing about journalists uncovering a plot to take over the world.
>Westworld is a futuristic theme park where paying guests can pretend to be gunslingers in an artificial Wild West populated by androids. After paying a sizable entrance fee, Blane (James Brolin) and Martin (Richard Benjamin) are determined to unwind by hitting the saloons and shooting off their guns. But when the system goes haywire and Blane is killed in a duel with a robotic gunslinger (Yul Brynner), Martin's escapist fantasy suddenly takes on a grim reality.
Is that not exactly what happens in the first series with the guy the falls in love with the milkmaid??
no nothing like that happens in the first season except for a vague similarity to one plotline
that actually bears more of a resemblence to season 2
also the robots in the westworld movie are just going haywire due to a computer virus theyre not rebelling because they became self-saware
Season one is only good because of Hopkins and Harris. Hopkins is killed in the finale. Harris is subjugated by strong women for the rest of the show. The following seasons are nothing but strong woman montages and nonsensical writing by HR women. All remaining men are henchman-tier characters whose only purpose is to get punched and fooled by strong women. The quality of the show declines significantly. The show is an allegory of modern hollywood. The great ones are gone and what we are left with is a bunch of unaccomplished women ruining everything and calling you a misogynist for noticing.
Should have been an anthology series where each season is a new world in the theme park with an entirely new cast.
Totally botched it by trying to continue a story already finished in season one.
That's what people were assuming would happen. It's natural. Unfortunately, the writers hated doing historical genre locations, apparently and just wanted to film in sleek city locations. Gangsterworld in S4 was pretty cool but it was too little too late. There are brief glimpses of Poo Land and Weebworld in S2 as well.

>Hey, I’ve got an idea: let’s create a race of androids that are our intellectual superiors in every conceivable way, highly impervious to harm, super humanly fast and strong, virtually immortal, and capable technopathically hacking any system. Then let’s release them into the wild without any means of tracking or even detecting them. >What could possibly go wrong?
In another episode akecheta mentions that every subjective 1000 years in the sublime is 1 year IRL so Christina has 100,000 subjective years to simulate and reprogram humanity

Somehow 2 and 3 was an even worse jump. First half of two wasnt that bad from what I remember they just obviously had no idea where to go with it
First half of two wasn't bad because it was all setup, but the payoffs were all pretty terrible and didn't go anywhere.
It’s because Evan Rachel Wood pulled an Amber Heard on Marilyn Manson and they felt obligated to write her as “strong independent woman.” It later turned out she was lying worse than Amber was, the trial just wasn’t publicized for some reason.

Same thing with caleb. shit just doesn't make sense.
>when “imagine the smell” goes wrong
another excellent scene which belonged in a better overall season of television
(also, this one also involves Ed Harris... im detecting a pattern here)
There is serious potential for some kind of fan edit of the entire series that coudl be watchable, but sadly I am not that talented at editing.
>I don't know how most of Jesse Pinkman scenes stay in
what a waste of a fricking actor and a character
i thought with Ep 1 of S3 he would be the protagonist but he ends up becoming the sidekick to Dolores just like Teddy
I didn't think it was possible to make her uglier and more annoying. Bravo, HBO.
It seems like its riding on his presence to sell it. That's not a good scene, the writing is still shit. All very bland. So bland.
I hate the empty pretentiousness of shit like this.
no comment
NO NO NOO NOOOOOOOO
At least we have season 1. Good times...
I have the season 1-3 4k blu-rays, only 1 and 2 were worth it
I agree. There are a few cool moments in season 2, but it shits the bed overall. For me, I just consider Westworld as a mini-series limited to season one.
Season 3 at least gave us a few bangers
The first season was great while they were world-building but by episode 8, you've seen it all.
Season two was a meandering mess with a couple of decent episodes.
Season three had fun Singapore architecture and the first few episodes are good.
Season four is just dumb with flies hacking people's brains.
Every episode in the first season was worse than the last.
Have you seen the last two seasons of Westworld at all?
>resident evil
>bad
*tips fedora*
>it was always shit!!
alright so dont watch it homie lmao
>I'm glad Westworld didn't get this treatment
lmao the first season alone was filled with capeshit tier moronic writing, what are on about?
They should've just stopped after Season 1. The ending was even fitting for that for the most part.
I only kept watching because of Evan Rachel Wood but I also watched fricking Kajillionaire because of that.
every episode of season 3 post-genre is actually bad though
theyre not even technically competent in the same way that the episodes from seasons 1 2 and 4 are
SHRINK RAY
the most based theory
also i miss fordposting
'A shrink ray would be stupid!', they howled.
Well are you happy with what you got fullscalecucks?
>season 1 ends with the niggress ascending to feminism godhood while the white males kneeled down
That was the most American scene I've ever seen and since I'm not a cuckstanny I dropped it all and never got to see S2.
Heroes
2 still had a couple good episodes, one of which tied-up the William arc pretty well (Riddle of the Sphinx). People liked the self-contained Ghost Nation episode, too.
S2, the show was still recoverable. S3 is when it well and truly went to shit.
its all downhill from genre
decoherence is okay because of MIB's therapy scenes
This. A couple of gems but it was going off the tracks
S1: Delos is frantically trying to use spies to exfiltrate park IP
S2: Ackshually Delos staff are onsite running the Cradle
This is a show that ostensibly had a 5 season story bible (per HBO requirements after the original S1 was so terrible it had to be extensively reshot) and they still didn't bother being even remotely consistent
>the original S1 was so terrible it had to be extensively reshot
what?
WW was supposed to premiere on HBO nearly 2 years before it actually did, and be the second coming of GoT (when it was good). The network saw all 10 episodes and howled at how bad it was, ordered a rewrite and reshoots. Go watch that scene where Abernathy picks the photo out of the dirt again: when he reaches for it it's a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge but when it's in his hands, it's the Times Square photo. Even Louis Herthum (the guy playing him) was cagey about that when asked on Twitter.
I wonder how different the original outline of the story was.
Ghost nation was a beautiful gem that helped to extend lore and improve the storytelling. They should have done more things like that. I guess it was just too hard to do.
It was created by a Nolan, it was always going to be big dumb schlock. I just enjoyed it for what it was instead of whining about what it wasn't.
I think once sentient AI that can look like us appear I'll kill myself and probably try and take some politicians with me, because it's legitimately over for everyone at that point anyway.
2 was the best season, whole Delos thing was amazing. If you think otherwise you are a dumbass
the MIB/Delos stuff and the bernard/ford stuff was good but that is only like 60% of the show in s2, so its not better than 1
Is when the ideas are better than Season 1
Danger 5 s1 is some of the best comedy ever made
Danger 5 s2 is barely watchable
Battlestar Galactica becomes unfathomably stupid, but the gap there is between the first two seasons and the last two seasons.
I was hyped and onboard with S3 when it looked like it was gonna be corpo-espionage kino with Ed Harris, then they took a 180 and sent him to an insane asylum instead.
I loved her, bros
have any other HBO shows gotten deleted so fast?
It was an unprecendeted removal, so no
I finished S1 recently on the trusted recommendation that everything afterwards is unnecessary. The way the last episode ends is great, they clearly said all they had to say by that point. Most works of fiction only dream of building up to a climax that resounding. Shame they ran it into the ground
They could’ve just ended it on the first season. It’s unnecessary to have an explanation for everything.
Westworld fans should consider themselves lucky that the first season mostly works as a self-contained story. Most serialized shows that go to shit aren't nearly as lucky because there isn't an obvious stopping point and the bad decisions infect everything.
Another unforgettable screenshot from S03E03 Absence of Field
This is Aaron Paul's facial expression in every single scene
I don't even understand how it could be worse than season 1, i dropped that moronic shit so fast
This man has singlehandedly destroyed storytelling.
1>>>4>2>3
>ctrl+f "the boys"
>no results
everyone itt needs to kill themselves
You kys, buddy. Boys is still kino
Never. Not even GoT plummeted as rapidly as this show did.
Mussoliniland was cool too (for the one episode it appeared)
Oh yeah. Must have blocked that out because of Maeve.
For me, it's Militaryworld
>Hey, I’ve got an idea: let’s create a race of androids that are our intellectual superiors in every conceivable way, highly impervious to harm, super humanly fast and strong, virtually immortal, and capable technopathically hacking any system. Then let’s release them into the wild without any means of tracking or even detecting them.
>What could possibly go wrong?
The ending to the whole series is godawful as well. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Who will do the maintenance
There's a throwaway comment by the cartel in the first episode that it's self sustaining and won't require maintenance for over 100 years
So after a 100 years... Wow good save there, writers. They are very smart
In another episode akecheta mentions that every subjective 1000 years in the sublime is 1 year IRL so Christina has 100,000 subjective years to simulate and reprogram humanity
lul
>Season 1:
Fantastically interesting, well written and acted.
>Season 2
...WTF!? This sucks!
>Season 3
Oh, frick this!
I was big sad... The show had tons of potential.
Historians will be referencing westworld's epic decline in 100 years, it was that bad
walking dead
>becomes moronicly convoluted
>Maeve gets god mode powers
>umm...eastworld! (this one is passable but not with everything else)
>there's a virtual "heaven"
>leave Westworld
>becomes generic scifi plot
what the frick were they thinking?
>ywn see the whoroborus
I'm still mad
The way Westworld satirized cable TV was a little on the nose but was one of the key parts that made the first season what it was.
ww is epstein island
the "quality" plummeted because they're found out and can't continue "shitting on your face"
enjoy your goyslop, vaxxmaxxed goblins
>the "quality" plummeted because they're found out and can't continue "shitting on your face"
Read-up about lesser magic / criminal morality with these Satanic fricks. They actually have to keep "shitting on your face" to a degree in order to get away with it.
