I'm almost 40 homie, it's a fun movie but doesn't hold a candle to the original

Basically. Its not contrarian enough to just accept the common opinion that the first 2 are the best. You have to take it one step further and claim only the original is kino, or go the other direction and say the third is just as good (make sure to mention the unofficial cut)

Filtered as frick. Aliens turned the franchise into a generic 80s testfest, gettig rid of all the nuance, terror and sexual undertones of the first. Thankfully, Fincher saw this too and turned it back into what it was supposed to be, expanding the universe and birthing new, interesting characters. Also, killing off Ripley was a great decision, just to make sure no director would in James Cameron fashion try to spin the franchise around yet again on what it's supposed to be. This return to thematic origins was also the main point of both Prometheus and Covenant, but these two took that as a starting point to expand the world into other realms, those of religion and creation, which is fine too.
In the end, Aliens was a disaster that almost ruined the idea behind Alien.

I wasn't a fan of where the series went with it. That being said, I think T2 was a perfect sequel to T1.

It's overrated and the effects haven't aged well.

It's aged a thousand times better than Alien kek! They can't even show the alien in Alien most of the time because it's so cheesy. Just a guy in a terrible rubber suit, so they literally have him hanging by ropes, floating around, sleeping in a lifepod or just jump scaring people in a vent because he looks stupid as frick actually moving

Both DC and Aliens could be saved if they made a Batman v Aliens movie. It ends with a predator turning up at the end setting the sequel for Batman and Superman versus Aliens versus Predator with a big final battle involving the justice league and a bunch of predators. As ridiculous as this sounds you know it would make billions.

No. Make Superman vs Aliens and Batman vs Predator. Aliens don't work on earth unless it's a cyberpunk future.

Opposite for me. It took a movie that wasn't gimped by Damon Lindelof to get what Scott was going for. Still hate the engineers though.

No, they have the perfect opportunity to make an Alien Isolation movie and get the series back on track. They're going to make a shitty young adult movie and cheesy tv show instead though.

you mean you didn't like Aliens: Vasquez about how evil racist white men are in america, or didn't you enjoy the story about the transexual disabled person of color? or how about the lesbian adopt-family of all colors and creeds (but the white male dies first) fighting the evil racist white man company? (these are all *real* alien novels released after the disney acquisition.)

weyland yutani did nothing wrong and given the xenomorph was a creation of David that is weyland intellectual property they are simply attempting to retrieve what already belongs to them.
