      >can't do recurring characters or settings
      >still can't add reference material for AI
      >lacks fine detail, focus and nuance
      >feeding the ai demon that willl eventually wipe us all out

good concept art when you have a fledling idea, but I have most of the designs done in alternative methods

Automatic1111's Stable Diffusion + ControlNet and a few other extensions can do all of the above.

If you can do a sketch with clean lines, AI can likely be able to render something from it, depending on how you set it. But you'll still need a lot of clean up in photoshop to make it presentable.

Has there been an AI comic that could pass? I mean with a cover, panels, and a story better than what King or Tynion write?

The mentality of someone running away with your idea is stupid, so either way hire an artist.

do a manga. most artists suck shit at that at first and grow into better artists.
Or you could be someone like the chick who does dorohedoro. Everyone hated her art at first because it "wasnt manga enough" now its relatively popular.

take a few minutes to type up something for them to sign saying if they use your your stuff after the work is done you will take them to court. Most artists (Im one) will sign it and do the job. You are being too paranoid.

The answers in this thread are going to be generally bad, but I will try to help.

The thing you need to remember is that someone stealing your work and becoming hugely successful is actually of giant benefit. Here's all you need to do -

Write out the story in its ENTIRETY. Until it's down on paper, it's not real. Put your name and the date on it, then print it out and mail it to yourself. Keep it in the envelope with the date.

Then, contact the artist. Provide them with a small amount of the story - maybe the first arc. This will ensure that you have time to assess if they are trustworthy and if you need to change artists for the subsequent arcs. If they steal the idea, you just wait.

Wait for them to start a Patreon, or a website where they get money for views - let them get successful. Then, sue the frick out of them, using your dated manuscript as proof of authorship. This way, you're entitled to both their actual earnings AND your own theoretical earnings that you might have never made anyway, but you can feasibly argue you can't earn now.

This is a common tactic for screenwriters - date a bunch of generic manuscripts, shop the concepts around, then sue anyone who makes a similar film. Way more lucrative than actually working on movies.

    >>have an amazing idea for comic
No mattaer how amazing your idea is, it's crap if you haven't actually written it. "Ideas man" isn't a real job if you weren't born obscenely rich. Write a real script, then start working on finding an artist.

99% of the an artist isn't going to steal your idea, especially one that you're paying because they're going to go back to getting paid to draw for someone else. You'd have to find an artist that was taking commissions, loves your idea more than what they've been doing, will backstab and drop you, and pursue it themselves on their own while no longer taking commissions or doing so at a reduced rate. Highly unlikely. There's a much greater chance you'll be ghosted by the artist. They'll take your money and take forever to work on your stuff or not even finish it.

    A:Write a book

B: Draw it anyway, I've read plenty of bad looking comics with heart to them, sometimes if you start someone will jump aboard with you.
At least then you have the idea solidified enough they can't steal it
