God I was so hyped for Korra. Picrel was the first promo image and I had it as my wallpaper. Even after season one I was high on copium that it could get better, and then season two just destroyed all remaining hope.
No.
It's usually only done for cynical reasons, such as exploiting a beloved property to generate extra revenue.
Very *VERY* seldom does a reboot, revival, or reimagining contain even a spark of genuine passion for the original.
Nope. All of them have to have some harmless aspect changed to fit the "cultural standards" of people so soft, they have panic attacks when called the wrong name.
The Invader Zim movie. I loved the show as a kid. Some people thought the movie was too softened up. but i thought it was a reasonable progression in style, still funny, and a good conclusion to the show. And you can always read the finale comic if you want a more dark, cynical ending.
Thankfully i never got excited for the Rocko's Modern Life continuation because i didnt particularly like it as a kid.
The usual suspects will vehemently disagree, but the SJ reboot was pure kino up until Jack started regularly conversing with Ashi.
Somewhere around the third or fourth episode, when they were eaten by the giant fish.
After that the show became increasingly lame.
I completely agree with this. The first episodes were incredibly cool and "raised to kill SJ" villains were great. It felt like a no brakes version of the old show.
The Total Drama reboot. There were some bumps in the ride the more they revealed about the season, but it ended up being good, and definitely better than some of the seasons before it
I'm not excited for it, but I'm hopeful for the Totally Spies reboot. That leaked animatic that got posted legitimately just felt like the original series and their new designs are actually cute.
I get the doll complaint but they really don't look dead to me, most official promotional art just looks kind of stiff because they try to keep things on model.

This is the new stuff? I can't quite put a finger on it but i find it quite unappealing, it feels like drinking off brand cola.
Kind of, I think that's a result of "French faux-anime" being done with digital tools in general though. e-girlrock gives them way more exaggerated features and proportions while this is pretty grounded in comparison.

Yeah these look a little stiff but they're fine, they're proportioned properly and look attractive. I really do think it's just the fact they're new designs and we haven't seen anything but static renders yet that people aren't totally warmed up to them, compared to most shit coming out now they're fricking gorgeous.
Quoting the wiki here "She appears to be mixed race, though it’s never completely clear if her ethnicity is Black Hispanic, South Asian or a combination of the two."

Yeah, Samurai Jack, Clone high, Korra, Fiona and Cake, Starwars, He-Man.
>clone high
>starwars
>he-man
im so sorry for your loss
Yeah, there's a reason why I generally never have hopes for anything these days.
God I was so hyped for Korra. Picrel was the first promo image and I had it as my wallpaper. Even after season one I was high on copium that it could get better, and then season two just destroyed all remaining hope.
Samurai Jack destroyed me
No and neither should you
I actually thought the Clone High Reboot was going to be good. I will never make that mistake again
no.
You know it's going to be the same israeli tripe as everything else but with the name of that show you used to like.
Do something like Sonic Prime or the live action movies count?
Is this revival going to be written by people who are actually competent? Or will it be more bums who use the term "adulting" unironically?
No.

I remember it was somewhat exciting in early 10's. Now all I wish is Hollywood could just move away from that

These two fartknockers are pretty hard to go wrong with and both comebacks didn't disappoint
Samurai Jack, also the PPG reboot in 2016 when it looked like picrel, that excitement quickly died when the actual show was revealed.
The usual suspects will vehemently disagree, but the SJ reboot was pure kino up until Jack started regularly conversing with Ashi.

Samurai Jack and that's it.
I'm not excited for it, but I'm hopeful for the Totally Spies reboot. That leaked animatic that got posted legitimately just felt like the original series and their new designs are actually cute.
I wonder how people feel about their hair and to an extent their face. It looks too girly doll show for me.
They're kind of dollish but compared to the ABSOLUTE STATE of most modern female character designs I'm just glad they're cute.
They look dead.
Hot
I get the doll complaint but they really don't look dead to me, most official promotional art just looks kind of stiff because they try to keep things on model.
wonder what geraldine and her cat will look like in the reboot. Hopefully they both come back
Drop dead gorgeous
dead serious about to go to mount splashmore!
at least no one got a side-shaved hair cut
This is the new stuff? I can't quite put a finger on it but i find it quite unappealing, it feels like drinking off brand cola.
I think it's just because they're new designs of old characters, there's nothing actually wrong with them so far as I can tell.
The reboot is supposed to be a direct continuation, which would actually put all of them in their early 20s.
I'll hold off for at least a year or two after release, if I touch it at all.
In og style you could easily say clover is a 20 something woman, the nustyle is light novel 2000 year old dragon tier
It looks like e-girlrock artstyle
now that you mention it, yeah kinda
Kind of, I think that's a result of "French faux-anime" being done with digital tools in general though. e-girlrock gives them way more exaggerated features and proportions while this is pretty grounded in comparison.

>black girl character with small ass
ew. that looks so unnatural
she's not black though. i always imagined she was southeast asian or something

She's sexy mystery meat.
Samurai Jack. The first episodes were glorious. Then I became incredibly disappointed.
The new totally spies better have a passion patties episode.
I don't like how they're more explicitly teenagers
Is there a blue ray box or something fancy i can get before, its gets diluted?
>physical media of tv shows in 2024
Looks better than a hardrive on my shelf.
All I found were individual discs for seasons 1-3
Finally a new Taimanin anime
Maybe 20 years ago, before I knew better.
