I stopped watching I think on Smith's last season or just before it. Been thinking of hopping back on to finish it and then going on to Capaldi's run. Is Capaldi's run worth it though? I saw that his first two seasons go up to 2015, which is promising. However, his last season is in 2017 and that's after the 2016 elections, which is even more obvious by having that caricature of a black person as a companion. I almost feel bad for making fun of a show that's so far gone I can hardly believe it, but then again, they exist to be laughed at so might as well.
I have never watched one and I never will.
But I have literally six decades worth of constant Doctor Who content to catch up on, and have barely scratched the surface. I haven't watched this mainstream shite since they made the doctor a boring lesbian. I've recently re-discovered the eighth doctor (who I previously thought of as existing for an hour and a half) as my favourite, and realised just how amazing colin baker is when his companion is a gruff and no-nonsense old woman. I also now know that there was a whole fricking range of books in the 90s which are weird and experimental and I can't wait to read them, and a load of kooky sidestories about some cringy woman who travels around time in a bus or something?
Who cares what's happening in the shallow end?
I actually like the new doctor, companion is a bit meh but is attractive to look at.
Also some of the plotlines and the lines said are stupid.

You should probably try to watch some of the series you missed. Granted Chibnals series can be mostly skipped (there were some decent episodes but not worth going into that here), but Moffat's stuff is a good 90 % kino rate.

There's no fail state for them, either. From what I can tell there is literally nothing that will turn them away from the show because they have no dignity or self-respect or standards. As ever with these shows, they go so heavy on the messaging that it takes me out of the narrative. And Dr Who isn't the only example.
I fact I would say science fiction in general at the moment, formerly one of the most interesting genres for me, is now written with such simplicity because writers don't see it as anything other than a tool for politics.
You can tell an engaging and interesting scifi story without so much politics but most writers seem to feel that scifi is somehow "beneath" them.
I didn't watch it. The people making it have said I'm not the audience, so I watch something else instead and ignore it.

Right right off the bat, the Villain is known as the ''Epoch Doctor'' he is an alternate Universe Doctor played by Chris O'Dowd. Who despite his comedic profession plays the role quite serious, this doctor is 100,000 years old, and is introduced in episode 1, in an amazing shot above the biblical tower of babel with his tardis door open think that scene from Alien covenant where the android guy is staring down at the engineers, well the Epoch Doctor destroys the Tower of Babel killing thousands below. Why? because the tower is powered by draining the regeneration energy of hundreds of Time Lords, his enemy are known as the Black Magicians of Lemuria. Epoch Doctor destroys the tower putting the last of his universes Time Lords out of their misery. The blast creates timey wimey scenario and transports him to the main universe where he will eventually meet and come into moral conflict with Jodies 13th Doctor.
Chris O'Dowd is amazing in the footage i've seen. Never expected this level of acting from him.
