In Episode 2, Val mentions having tons of people on payroll. We could imagine him controlling much of the underground (inasmuch as there is still an underground sector in Hell) as his power base e.g. casinos, speakeasies, trafficking.

If we were to give valentino something his contracts and trafficking would mean he may own the most souls out of the V's vox may absorb energy via views but most overlords seem to make deals and sale souls. Alastor isn't supposed to be a good guy.
Even the pilot hinted that he has some nefarious reason for helping with the hotel. His role in the story is unironically Sukuna and he's probably going to betray Charlie at some point.
It's also less about who Alastor is and more about how Husk feels about him. Husk feels humiliated and trapped, like Angel. That's where their comradery comes from. It's obviously not exactly the same because Alastor isn't a pervert.

They both lost their soul to another demon and have no control over their lives anymore, that’s the connective tissue. For Angel it’s just a constant stream of physical and emotional abuse, the carrot and the stick basically. For Husk, it’s hard to say at this point. Being forced to work as a bartender seems tame but we don’t know yet the depths of Alastor’s depravity. It’s a wild card. One day he might order you to work the bar, the next day he makes you murder someone, truly who knows? He might turn out to be a wholesome bean ultimately, however, the Loser song is from Husk’s perspective so he truly might not know what Alastor might make him do next.
Given Alastor's love of sadistic entertainment for himself he strikes me as the kind of master who would make sure you're always guessing because the suspense and surprise are the greatest payoffs right before the suffering.

Husk doesn't know that he's explicitly getting raped. Remember Charlie left before the Poison number so at worst he'd think Val would be physically abusive. He's also under the direct control of Alastor who (putting it nicely) still isn't completely trustworthy. He could flip and leave Charlie and the others to frick off and die to Val and his posse any time he wanted to and take Husk with him regardless of how Husk feels about it. While Angel Dust obviously has it worse I don't think it's as far-fetched of a connection as it seems.

Under normal circumstances yes, but after its revealed during the ~season 3 mid point that the 'Lilith' we've probably met by then is actually Eve and the [real] 'Lilith' has actually been hiding under a fake-form either as someone we've already met Rosie or entirely off-screen after Eve Count of Monte-Cristo'd her out of her family.
It will then be explained that since Lilith can't try to fight Eve herself to get her family back for [reasons] that she gave all her power to the Radio-Demon who just also happens to have vanished into the abyss for about 7 years.
So really, The explanation as for why Alastor is 'so strong compared to other Overlords' will be because he isn't just operating off of 'Overlord' level power but also got given Lilith's Rinnegan or whatever as is actually skipping two-levels to be right below Lucifer in power

Two thoughts on this >killing 1 isolated angel who believed they are 100% invulnerable to demons is vastly different than fighting a war against an army of angels >an actual war would put all of hell at risk versus the exterminations which I suspect only kill the weak, poor or newly arrived demons

Alastor didn't frick with Vox via signals, Vox and his own insecurities fricked with Vox. He lost control due to Alastor calling him weak, only powerful because he has Velvette and Valentino as his support and Al called him out on Vox being the one who wanted to work with him, only for Alastor to reject the offer.
Vox feels like someone extremely insecure about himself and is so ready to change everything about himself to fit in and "evolve" into a better person that he will lose himself in his desire for perfection. Aka, Vox is a TV personality who gets plastic surgery to stay relevant to the point of being unrecognizable from their past self.

Haven’t watched Helluva Boss beyond the ranch episode in first season but I get the impression that whatever angelic weapon is made is rare and/or really costly. Safe a few very unusual occasions only Overlords and above could get their hands on those.
But using them would also mean putting your life on the line. And considering those are the only things that can kill them and free their underlings of their contracts, I bet they aren’t eager to hand them out to some goon.

He definitely will, he was already disrespected for being overly prideful/expecting people to be more interested in him than they actually were in the third episode and had no real comeback/response to it.

I'm hoping for a bit more of an episodic formula, maybe kind of a Fosters vibe. Where you have new demons in the hotel trying to get rehabilitated, each with their own unique quirks and problems. Granted I don't think this'll happen with only 8 20 minute episodes a season, though.

Velvette is probably the character I’m most invested in that’s not part of the hotel gang and only in two episodes, that’s saying something.
She passed Val to be my second favorite V. Not a high bar, but they just didn't have her do much before. Now that they've shown her in action, I don't think either of the other Vees could have worked that room like that. And she didn't even need any kind of magic or superpowers to do it.

In the first episode you can see fricking angels casually enter Hell and frick with Charlie during Adam's song, if they can do that then theres nothing sinners or hellborn can do against an enemy who can just retreat back to their untouchable HQ and plan on how to frick you up.

I'll just reply to you with my opinion on why the Angel Dust episode was actually bretty gud from annuda bread.
The entire sequence in Episode 4 of Angel freaking out when he see's Charlie in the sex dungeon and trying to hurry her out of there, Val mauling Angel in the backroom and then Angel screaming at Charlie for trying to intervene was probably the 'best' sequence out of the first 4 episodes. Only slightly being dampened by the Spider-Porn softcore HMV that followed it in order to meet the 'Musical' quota.
It actually hit everything you need to build tension in a scene like that, Which are the two pillars of 'The Inevitable' and 'The Unknown', It feeds the audience knowledge of 'The Inevitable' because the second you see Charlie enter the Sex-Dungeon [assuming you are a participant in the fandom or have basic pre-knowledge of these characters] you essentially KNOW that this will now end with Valentino mauling Angel Dust the moment Charlie is out of the room [if even], With 'The Unknown' of the situation being what the 'severity' of this mauling will be, How will Charlie react to it, How will Angel Dust respond to it and so forth.
You immediately understand WHY Angel Dust runs over to the door like and tries to make Charlie frick off while their voice is a nervous wreck, Charlie's refusal is irritation and tension raising to the viewer, And when Charlie starts fricking with shit and causes a fire, The weight of 'The Inevitable' and guessing what the severity of 'The Unknown' will be - Becomes almost crushing to the viewer.
I can definitely understand why positive reviewers who watched the first 5 episodes said that 4 was supposedly the turning point where it went from 'passable' to 'good', And why the IMDB average gives EP4 a ~9/10 while the other three score ~7.5/10, And if Episode 5 and onwards manages to be even close to THAT good, Then I will be PLEASANTLY surprised.

Lucifer is clearly the most powerful being in hell but he doesn't want to deal with any of this shit because he doesn't care, so he has a bodyguard to thrash people for him. The cherubs are imp equivalents and as expendable bottom-rung citizens, they have to continually earn their place.

Alastor isn't supposed to be a good guy.
Even the pilot hinted that he has some nefarious reason for helping with the hotel. His role in the story is unironically Sukuna and he's probably going to betray Charlie at some point.
It's also less about who Alastor is and more about how Husk feels about him. Husk feels humiliated and trapped, like Angel. That's where their comradery comes from. It's obviously not exactly the same because Alastor isn't a pervert.

For Angel it’s just a constant stream of physical and emotional abuse, the carrot and the stick basically. For Husk, it’s hard to say at this point. Being forced to work as a bartender seems tame but we don’t know yet the depths of Alastor’s depravity. It’s a wild card. One day he might order you to work the bar, the next day he makes you murder someone, truly who knows? He might turn out to be a wholesome bean ultimately, however, the Loser song is from Husk’s perspective so he truly might not know what Alastor might make him do next.
Given Alastor's love of sadistic entertainment for himself he strikes me as the kind of master who would make sure you're always guessing because the suspense and surprise are the greatest payoffs right before the suffering.
For Husk, its the fact that he was literally at the peak and lost it all due to his inability to not gamble.He's now reduced to an errand boy.

Husk doesn't know that he's explicitly getting raped. Remember Charlie left before the Poison number so at worst he'd think Val would be physically abusive. He's also under the direct control of Alastor who (putting it nicely) still isn't completely trustworthy. He could flip and leave Charlie and the others to frick off and die to Val and his posse any time he wanted to and take Husk with him regardless of how Husk feels about it. While Angel Dust obviously has it worse I don't think it's as far-fetched of a connection as it seems.

Clearly the daughters weren't safe if Carmine had to defend them from an angel. The way the massacres are conveyed its implied that basically no demon is 'really' safe since none of them are capable of killing their attackers.
I'm not suggesting she run up to the gates of heaven and start trying to cut off heads right away, but the fact that she tried to keep it a secret and didn't even want to discuss it 1 on 1 with Zestial when he found out is kind of baffling. Surely it'd be a better idea to put a lot of effort into researching how this managed to happen and how they could potentially do it large scale in order to stop the danger for good, rather than just hoping that you get lucky and manage to survive every year (or every 6 months now)
Carmine is hoping that the angels will take their pound of flesh and leave it be. If the demons never find out, then they can try to sweep it under the rug and avoid an all out war.
The Overlords bunker up during the purge which is about as safe as can be. We don't know if the daughters got caught out looting for angel tech.
If there is even a chance to prevent a war, it makes sense that Carmine would want that. Carmine prefers the status quo. Its safer for her and her family.

Alastor didn't frick with Vox via signals, Vox and his own insecurities fricked with Vox. He lost control due to Alastor calling him weak, only powerful because he has Velvette and Valentino as his support and Al called him out on Vox being the one who wanted to work with him, only for Alastor to reject the offer.
Vox feels like someone extremely insecure about himself and is so ready to change everything about himself to fit in and "evolve" into a better person that he will lose himself in his desire for perfection. Aka, Vox is a TV personality who gets plastic surgery to stay relevant to the point of being unrecognizable from their past self.
Dunno, at the very end of the song Alastor was on Vox’s screen after Vox broke the signals.
And Alastor did this, though you could also see this as the result of Vox losing control of his powers. In either case, Vox is depowered, and thus they cut back from his virtual TV presence to his physical self in that chair.
Alastor's power doesn't actually come from radio; it's his favorite medium, not his motif (like TV-head Vox). Thus, in "Stayed Gone", Vox sings about how radio is obsolete while Alastor does nothing but personal insults.

I'll just reply to you with my opinion on why the Angel Dust episode was actually bretty gud from annuda bread.
The entire sequence in Episode 4 of Angel freaking out when he see's Charlie in the sex dungeon and trying to hurry her out of there, Val mauling Angel in the backroom and then Angel screaming at Charlie for trying to intervene was probably the 'best' sequence out of the first 4 episodes. Only slightly being dampened by the Spider-Porn softcore HMV that followed it in order to meet the 'Musical' quota.
It actually hit everything you need to build tension in a scene like that, Which are the two pillars of 'The Inevitable' and 'The Unknown', It feeds the audience knowledge of 'The Inevitable' because the second you see Charlie enter the Sex-Dungeon [assuming you are a participant in the fandom or have basic pre-knowledge of these characters] you essentially KNOW that this will now end with Valentino mauling Angel Dust the moment Charlie is out of the room [if even], With 'The Unknown' of the situation being what the 'severity' of this mauling will be, How will Charlie react to it, How will Angel Dust respond to it and so forth.
You immediately understand WHY Angel Dust runs over to the door like and tries to make Charlie frick off while their voice is a nervous wreck, Charlie's refusal is irritation and tension raising to the viewer, And when Charlie starts fricking with shit and causes a fire, The weight of 'The Inevitable' and guessing what the severity of 'The Unknown' will be - Becomes almost crushing to the viewer.
I can definitely understand why positive reviewers who watched the first 5 episodes said that 4 was supposedly the turning point where it went from 'passable' to 'good', And why the IMDB average gives EP4 a ~9/10 while the other three score ~7.5/10, And if Episode 5 and onwards manages to be even close to THAT good, Then I will be PLEASANTLY surprised.
