Notice how it doesn't say he dies. Just that he sacrifices himself, to save the whole cast. My new headcanon is that he flies his ship in a kamikaze attack or some shit, for glory.
The leaker anon also wasn't interested or a fan of the show, so he didn't pay full attention. Therefore these claims are pretty vague and he left a lot of details out. We just know he "sacrifices himself" to save not only Cherri, but the whole cast. That means something huge happens, which sort of reduces the possibility of him getting killed by a holy angelic spear.
Notice how the Angels from the flashback in episode 6 only wield spears and not angelic guns. The angelic guns are Carmilla Carmine exclusive tech it seems so only demons in hell have access to the guns. Therefore, that reduces the chances of Pentious being shot at by a holy bullet.
Notice that in the trading card of the destroyed hotel, the Pentious ship is missing, which implies it was simply destroyed along with the hotel or that Pent flew it around in the war against the angels. So I do like my theory of his kamikaze attack to save the day. Pent also has an important role in the battle based on his card with the canons.

But he was also never meant to be a main character, earned his status as one, became one of the most beloved characters, they made him extra lovable on purpose so if they kill the snek the impact will be massive. Alternatively if he dies and redeems his soul in heaven somehow, it's the perfect plot device and the needed proof that a soul can be redeemed, making the rest of the show's premise about the hotel work perfectly for future seasons.

Here's what makes me a bit suspicious that Pentious' death will be a fake out, it's Alex Brightman.
Viv is a massive Brightman fangirl, it's one of the reasons Fizz got such a big role in S2 of Helluva Boss, and now he's in Hazbin, voicing not only Sir Pentious, but also Adam.
Adam dying, as much as I hate to say it, makes sense, he radiates 'disc one final boss' energy like nothing else, and isn't going to be the overarching antagonist of the entire series, just the big seasonal villain. But if he dies, Viv can still use Brightman as Pentious, and we all know that Viv loves this Broadway shit, yet apparently Pentious is dying too.
I could see the deaths staying Brightman was only Pentious, or if Brightman was only Adam, but for the only two major characters at the end of season one just so happen to be voiced by the same guy who the showrunner is also a massive fan of? That raises some flags for me.
Here's the thing. The pentious voice isn't great for singing. Alex brightmans signature is the Beetlejuice/jack black voice, which he uses for fizz and Adam.
It makes sense to kill off both. Brightman has a ton of other projects(even this year where he's doing spamalot on Broadway), and he can always come back for helluva boss where he's a side character. I'd rather see Adam fall than die, but I accept that he's going to.
Looking at this, I get the impression that Adam will have a glow up from being the “goofy, raspy pervert” to a genuine solemn father.

It might sound a little autistic, but I can't really find myself invested in their positions as the "royal family" of hell when it doesn't really seem like anyone gives a shit. It makes them feel like ineffective figureheads who just so happen to be in high positions, which would be cool if they did anything with it, but they haven't so far (outside of Charlie trying and then immediately failing to command any respect in the pilot and episode 4).

If Lucifer just spends all of his time locked up in his mansion making rubber ducks, it'd make sense that over time Sinners would grow to disrespect him and by proxy his kid. I feel that's overblown. Millie is just supposed to be the sane, straight man of the group that is without any neurosis. We even see she has a normal, healthy family life.
One reason the camping episode was so awful was because the writers suddenly had to give Millie some flaw for her to overcome, even though it doesn't make any sense for her to have it.
It's overblown for sure, it's not like she ruins the show, but I still think she's probably the least interesting member of the group by a country mile and deserves to be the most criticized because it feels like they hardly DO anything with the fact that she's the "healthy" one. At bare minimum I expected them to eventually lean into a sort of "group mom" role where she doesn't get a lot of focus herself but gets relevance by helping others through their rough patches with her heightened emotional intelligence, but they haven't even really done that.
The problem is that she is the character that doesn't give a shit about anything but the few things she's obsessed with. Husk is probably the most reasonable character of HH too but he is fun to watch because he reacts to the insanity around him and comments on it negatively. Milly doesn't do shit, she is more like an accessory and might a well be Moxxie's tulpa.
She really just needs to have an actual interesting dynamic with Blitzo. They just kinda politely like each other. The fact that she just goes along and never complains about Blitzo's creepy antics is the weirdest part.

You know maybe this is just me being crazy but I really think season 1 works as a prologue, is like after this season the Hotel is going to be taken seriously and the show being called Hazbin Hotel will actually make sense, it would be a good way to kill the whole "it's a rushed season" criticism because everything just works more as a set up of the show
I think Adam is the one that makes the Hotel be taken seriously because is the most serious parent the sinners ever had.
Spending an entire season as an effective Prologue isn't a very efficient story-telling method unless they're incredibly confident in your abilities to retroactively give weight to what could've been massive reveals if they'd been properly built up to, and given Helluva Boss' track record with pay offs, I'm not sure about that.
Hopefully it will get more episodic next season.

Yep I agree, the pilot had the hook and cliffhanger with the extermination. Season 1's conclusion ends the extermination. Season 2 focuses on the villains from Hell, specifically the Vees and we also get to see the progress at redemption of each character and their human backstories too.
The rebuilt Hotel shows that the Hotel is actually taken very seriously now, especially since Lucifer seems to be fully backing it. And of course the Hotel would become serious business since the people in charge managed to fight back and make the extermination a thing of the past. I also like how there's a branch for Husk and Angel which suggests they become pillars of the hotel somehow.

Animation is also stupidly draining. The difference between west and east is that the west spends time on making subtle and precise details (like mouth movements, how different characters behave, eyes, poses, and unique and flowing expressions) as anime takes these big and easy shortcuts, stupidly shallow pretty visuals, and shallow action segments.

When you think about it, maybe the only reason why Eve wasn’t erased/killed is because Adam was against her, and he stuck with her until their children turned out as murderers and thieves. Thus, Adam broke her heart to pieces when he blamed her for eating the apple and she disappeared from him, forever.
Perhaps Adam doesn’t WANT to remember why he was accepted into Heaven, but his list of “Act Selfless. Don’t Steal. Stick to the man” might be referencing how he stood up against the angels for Eve’s sake, and how his children fallen into deep and greedy evils.

I initially thought Adam would get kicked out of Heaven and become the groups ally from the Angels, but with the introduction of Emily I think she's way more likely to go the fallen angel route. Maybe the surviving one swears vengeance against Hell and becomes a rival character.

No. I think Adam would be the one that makes the hotel be taken seriously by promising sinners that he won’t erase them if they acted good for a change. They didn’t take Lilith, Charlie, and Lucifer seriously because they had no real way to threaten their lives or provided any real guaranteed promises.
So in season 2, Adam and Lute are the “unfun parents” that makes them act more responsible.

Lute contrasts most of the cast that alone already makes her interesting. Personally I also love her color scheme and fashion and can relate to serious silent characters so that's another plus. Another upside is that we don't know much about her, basically nothing about her private life so that's mysterious and interesting too.

Ok what is our source for what Alastor used to be before he died anyway? All we really know is that he's been serial killing overlords right when he first arrived according to the story Vaggie told in the pilot (which is of questionable canon now) and Mimzy retelling it in slightly more vague terms. He is very powerful for a sinner from the looks of it, but he shouldn't hold a candle otherwise to the 7 sins, or the Goetia or Lucifer himself.
Some people think he gets his power from Lilith because of both of them having a 7 year absence but there's nothing to hint at it other than the absence (which is weak evidence since Alastor has been powerful for way longer than 7 years) and people trying to convince themselves that Husk mouthing off to him when Mimzy was taking advantage of him was instead a reference to Lilith.
The only lore we actually known so far is that Viv said in the past it's voodoo shit, but that's not necessarily canon. I like the idea that his victims on earth made him more powerful in the afterlife, zodiac killer style.
