haha if there was any show that had enough warning time to stop and change directions, it was Hazbin Hotel.
Literally every bad decision along the way (redesigns, voice changes, plot problems and bad writing seen in Helluva Boss acting like a singing canary to not repeat the same mistakes in Hazbin) was pointed out VERY vocally by her actual fans who just wanted to save the sinking ship.
Yet it insisted on sinking.
Honestly I think the fans are half the problem. Not saying there was not some bad calls made, but It can’t be that bad.
Have you seen Helluva Boss? What they did to Stella to autistically attempt making Stolas the 'good guy'? It really is that bad.
Also... Charlie was downgraded very hard. Voice and design. It's just annoying to witness.
I think there were a lot of flukes that made the original good and it's like the showrunner didn't understand it and therefore mindlessly squandered it
Idk I think a lot of it is just being attached to the original ideas because we saw it first. Doesn’t matter which one is actually better the one you see first of the one you prefer. I think we should at least wait to watch the Amazon one before making that call.

For me Erika's speaking performance is too Broadway which gives it a fakeness. The original VA sounded genuinely emotional and therefore more relatable.
Erika's singing performance might be technically better but it sounds lower-pitched which I also personally don't like.
New outfit too masculine versus her previous. The spiky shoulders especially are an offense. It's like she is warding off any suitors by declaring she's a pantsuit girlboss.
Yellow/red eyes I could get behind if they drew them as cute as they did before. They changed up the shape. Pupils are smaller, eyelashes are pointier, eye angle is too catlike and less round/doll-like.
Overall they just masculinized Charlie and I don't like it.
Big reason why TADC is so successful is because they have a feminine MC that they're letting stay feminine.
All fandoms are totally out of control moronic these days. I miss a time when some gay wearing a Star Trek uniform in public would get him entirely ignored by the fairer sex and shoved into the nearest locker by anyone else. But that still doesn't necessarily make the fans wrong about everything either.

Now you mention it, I'm starting to get the picture with the Nifty thing. I mean I recognised she was jacking Vasquez's style even before I heard Horvitz in Helluva Boss, but I hadn't thought about it much beyond that.

Changing Charlie's pants to red, then giving her whole outfit that shitty pinkish hue, red instead of black collar, then worst of all red eyes on top of that looks like shit.
Meanwhile since the sky and everything around her is red, so her skin invariably has an off-white pink colour bleed that looks like a fricking flesh tone. So you wind up with shades of pink on shades of red, with minimal blacks and light red irises on yellow eyes. ffs Viv.
I actually had to look through the trailer to find any frames where her skin looked anything close to white, and colour bleed affects all the other whites like her shirt as well.
She looks like a discount Creepypasta character. Like somebody looked at Jeff the Killer and said "Yeah, I can do that. But with clowns and nineties cartoons."
I mean, frick man, she looks like she has a fading hairline in that screenshot you posted. Biggest downgrade ever.
I liked the shirt at first glance, but I wish they leaned into making her a goth gf with purples, dark blues and blacks.
I’m really excited but hope it’s not too much Broadway-musically in the soundtrack. The commercial has me a little scared. I don’t mind the voice changes (I think). But sound track should sound more like Repo Genetic Opera and not Wicked. Animation looks amazing. You can really tell they grew up on Cartoon Network.
Only watching if Doomguy is in it killing gay demons 24/7.
