Yep. It was a shame, too. The threads started off real fun. Just a bunch of anons making greentexts, fanfics, and theories about the show's possible lore and shit. There were a bunch of drawgays taking requests, too. Then some moron thought it would be a smart idea to start a discord server and everything fell apart soon after. The people who actually wanted to talk about the show got sick of the schizos constantly flinging shit at one another and eventually left. For the past three years or so, whenever a new general were to pop up on /trash/, it would just be the same three autists fricking screaming at each other.
It really fricking sucks. The early days of that general were great.

It would be one thing if he was full of himself and a douchebag but nonetheless charismatic enough that maybe you think he might not be such a bad guy. I also like the Joseph Joestar one, but frick me if it took a while to get Joseph in Hell. I mean, I loved that scene, but it took 8 fricking chapters to get there.

I liked it for all the care and world building put into Heaven. The second I realized Joseph was basically in hot water over heaven politics and having done punishable sins in life gave me a chuckle and the way angels are described were haunting but much cooler than the actual canon shit for HH.
I’m still iffy on the Red Nightmare story though.

Yeah the way Michael is described is pretty ‘BE NOT AFRAID’ and Joseph being shown to be remorseful of his sins was pretty great. I also like how Heaven is shown, it’s nice but also fricking weird like it was made by inhumanly alien creatures like Angels.

But it seems like the events of the pilot (Alastor showing up offering to help and the fight with Pentious) did happen based on the script.

i'm of two minds about it. since the bar is so low there's a good chance it'll get decent reviews, but it's on the same platform as invincible, which means it is actually being put up against a higher standard of adult animation. we'll have to wait and see
Realistically it will be mixed with little to no in between. Some critics are going to go nice on it because of the fact its production is an underdog story and it has 'the correct messaging', while others will see right through it and tear it to shreds.
Viv has the same style and aesthetics as a lot of dime a dozen 2010s Deviantart artists who liked Invader Zim.

Yep, back in the day Charlie and Vaggie were meant to be just friends but some of the animators working on the pilot liked them together so Viv agreed to make it canon. Angel Dust and Vaggie also used to be a couple as well as Alastor and Mimzy. Something went haywire with Viv and she got rid of all het ships and made Alastor aroace.
Most charlastorgays are aware it's never going to be canon due to vivz hateboner for this ship and you know what? We prefer it that way given the way she writes/portrays romantic relationships.

She literally confirmed it at the amazon prime panel a few months ago, that the pilot is still canon with some minor things that were changed in the series.
It was angel dust that made me wince. The rest are just there, and Charlie equally is WAY too "that girl who talks to much and gets all As" for no reason. It hurts to listen to everyone.
I don't know if on rewatches or as more episodes go on it'll become more tolerable, but it's actually weird that it hurts my brain the way it does. At least in comparison to the pilot VAs where they sounded more humble.

Seeing this episode made me realize how much it has in common with modern adult cartoons, and not just the bad ones, just the style Hollywood is going with now with shows like Digman, Krabapolis, and the new detective show that premiered last Sunday. Hazbin ends up fitting into that mold surprisingly well >constant swearing and drinking >characters with extravagant personalities stuck in a place where they can insult each other and maybe frick >villains are over the top pure evil fricks to a self aware degree who the audience can easily hate and sympathize with the heroes >there's one member of the cast who is positive while the rest are cynical and depressed
It does have more lore than usual but I can see why A24 got this, it can be their long-running adult sitcom to compete with Fox's and College Humor's newest series.
What makes me happy is how they didn't sanitize the show or retcon Angel being a porn star that is also a drug addict. Normally you'd never see that, so I'm really glad to see that the core identity of the pilot remains intact.

I liked it for all the care and world building put into Heaven. The second I realized Joseph was basically in hot water over heaven politics and having done punishable sins in life gave me a chuckle and the way angels are described were haunting but much cooler than the actual canon shit for HH.

Angel Dust and Vaggie also used to be a couple as well as Alastor and Mimzy. Something went haywire with Viv and she got rid of all het ships and made Alastor aroace.

Vaggie and Husk are probably the weakest voice, Mostly because Husk voice doesn't seem like it fits the character. And Vaggie just sounds off.

It was angel dust that made me wince. The rest are just there, and Charlie equally is WAY too "that girl who talks to much and gets all As" for no reason. It hurts to listen to everyone.
I tried to convince myself it was okay. It got old, fast.
I don't know if on rewatches or as more episodes go on it'll become more tolerable, but it's actually weird that it hurts my brain the way it does. At least in comparison to the pilot VAs where they sounded more humble.

The b-plot is the rest of the cast making a commercial for the hotel and sucking until Alastor stops being an ass and helps(properly this time).

Heaven Le Bad I guess). Meanwhile Commercial is done after Vaggie makes a deal with Alastor to not put him in charge of any TV things. There are some good jokes, but some of it is DAMN cringe. And even IF some of it is intended it's still fricking cringe.

I'd give it like 6.5/10 on my review scale, It's bearable, It feels somewhat like House M.D. or Family-Guy / South-Park, You just put in on your bedroom TV at night and watch a few episodes while you fall asleep.
Seeing this episode made me realize how much it has in common with modern adult cartoons, and not just the bad ones, just the style Hollywood is going with now with shows like Digman, Krabapolis, and the new detective show that premiered last Sunday. Hazbin ends up fitting into that mold surprisingly well
