59 already from only 6 critics is terrible. Another thing is that tv critics are way more forgiving than film.

The audience ratings will be worse, but they can go the Santa Inc route and just blame bigots.

It doesn't need to be good
It just needs to ruin the character with lgbt garbage
once it exists it's on to the next IP they don't even care to watch it

Imagine they make a show about Michael Scott.
But he's played by Keegan-Michael Key, and he's a employee at a coffee shop.

I'm just trying to wrap my head around what they thought "appeal" was here. People will try to give me the obvious answers here but if I was gonna make a show focused on one character, you'd think you would try to keep as much of that character intact for appeal. People like Michael Scott, so why try to change what works with that character on a fundamental level? A show about Velma should be about how she's kind of the smart straight man compared to the near comical goofs around her while expanding her own little quirks. Instead this just feels like a completely different property but has a name brand associated with it.

i think with something like this, you can either:
      >keep the characters and setting, but reimagine them a bit, which happens all the time with things that are rebooted. happened loads with scooby doo
      or
      >take one character, as is, and give them their own show
but if you do both, its just not fricking velma is it? its someone who has the same name as velma, but cannot be observably connected to the idea of velma were familiar with in any way. shes a velma in name only, so that they can make whatever show they want to make and cash in on name recognition, because nothing original ever gets made any more

    >pitch animated "adult" show with crude humor
    >wb exec:"uuhhhh ok but use a known ip to get more viewers"
the only reason i can think for someone to make a scooby doo show without scooby doo even if it's le edgy reimagination

This isn't fair bros. Why does no one want to watch Scooby Doo?? It's only a 50 year old franchise and this time it doesn't have Scooby Doo! PLEASE! WATCH IT AND MAKE YOUR OWN OPINION AND DO NOT LISTEN TO "REVIEWS"

As a non white myself, i won't bother watching this woke garbage. What's te fricking obsession from 1st worlders over non white appeal?
we don't need to watch some already well stablished character with race swap to make us happy..
imagine watching a new DBZ with a black or gay goku. Absolute shit

TL:DR stop fricking and shitting the classics, make your own new stuff
