I really don't like Zack Snyder's movies and I hate that he was put in charge of DC. But I think the idea here isn't about that one group of people specifically but about Superman realizing that the only way to stop Zod is to kill him. It's a really disappointing take on Superman but I think that's what he was going for here.
The thing is with Superman he can do anything, so he's bidden to always find the better solution... like that's literally the point of him as an aspirational hero.
When presented with the trolley problem, his answer is to untie everyone at super-speed, bring the train to a halt safely, and bring to justice whichever dastardly villain is responsible for tying people to train tracks.
This scene is honestly more damning than the "stop my invincible son" thing. If a picture is worth a thousand words then OP's image is a 3000 word essay on how Snyder does not understand Superman as a concept and every single person involved in the DCEU project is a sub-60 IQ fricking moron for letting him get behind the camera.
Well said. I think it comes down to a combination of cynicism and lack of creativity.
I can't wait for James Gunn to run it even further into the ground with his insecurities.
One thing I can say about Gunn is that he can do aspirational.
The Suicide Squad has problems but it's got a great moment when they decide not to run from Starro and save the day, and each of the Guardians films have great character arc with 3 leaving me absolutely satisfied with where they ended up.
I dread what he's going to do as the head of an entire universe, but if you made him director of just the Superman movies I could absolutely see it working,
No he can't, the trolley is laced and or rails with Kryptonite under thin lead coating and as he tries to tie it he crumbles to the ground and fricking dies.
All "people" that hating Zack Snyder are in fact inhuman scum. Dishonest, vile, toxic.
I haven't ever saw Zack Snyder's hater that actually at least looked good, let alone acted and behaved good.
Doesn't matter political belives or stuff like that either. All of Snyder's haters are ugly. Especially inside.
One of greatest triumphs of these films was not only in an honest approach to source material, but also in revealing how much walking talking scum roams this planet.
>The thing is with Superman he can do anything, so he's bidden to always find the better solution... like that's literally the point of him as an aspirational hero.
Which would be? Reason won't work and moving him away just creates more destruction. He can't be jailed and won't yield.
You're not getting it
He should've taken him to the fortress and used tech to restrain him
He should've carried him into space and stranded him on the dark side of the moon (Zod didn't have that long to charge in the yellow sun)
The character can do almost literally anything. If you had his ability you would probably wipe people out on a whim and live in a palace. You'd probably have knocked over a few buildings just by accident.
The impressive thing about any Superman story isn't that he can take the bullets or punch the man really hard - we know he can do that. The challenge he faces is to hold himself eternally in a state of infinite patience, restraint, and virtue. If you have him violate those it's not because you put him in an inescapable situation, it's because you wrote him not having a solution.
You can do that, but you better fricking justify it. And nothing before or after this moment justifies it.
>Is Snyder actually stupid?
Why didn't Zod just look left? His eyes can move independently from his head the same as Clark's the same as every human.
Yes Snyder is fricking stupid.
Why didn't Zod just look left? His eyes can move independently from his head
Yes this drives me fricking crazy also
A good take on this genre is one punch man. You’d think it’d be a boring stupid show with no where to go but they play with that concept so extremely well.
is Snyder the guy that also wants Batman to be a killer? I feel like he just wants to make this heroes kill people to be subversive or some shit like that
>I'm gonna ruin a poor blue collar worker's livelihood and probably cause him to go into huge debt (trucks aren't cheap) and cause his family to starve, all because of some banter at a pub
Bravo
Oh goody, casual Superman fans are here once again to teach us how Superman is all really about based on nothing but the only Superman they ever read, All Star Superman.
All-Star Superman killed lots of people in collateral damage during fight with sun computer and with Lex in the end. Also going by cynical take on Kryptonian x Human incompatability, unshrinkable Kandor, etc all people that he froze during prison riot are at least half dead.

just remember that ONE PANEL where Superman says "There is aways a way" and uphold that as a the end all, be all of everything Superman represents.
The one bit from All-Star Superman that i always giggled whenever re-reading it is when Clark freezes several of the prison's inmates right before Parasite comes in and smashes them to pieces, effectively killing them.

I don't understand why certain Superman fans treat ASS as a gospel when it comes to Superman. Grant Morrison himself have wrote several comics where Superman has no choice but to kill someone or moments where Superman acts like an butthole and terrorize someone.

So much for the good DCEU discussion we had going here
In the end you are same lying piece of shit. Lying over capeshit. I know you are a liar, you know you are a liar. Fun.
SAR, SAR, PLEASE REDEEM THE LYING SAR
I'm sure that would be a fun movie to watch. Lol nerd

You have never read or watched any Superman media in your life.
>Why didn't Zod just look left?
Their necks were stiff during high intensity heat vision.
Not only you are fake fan you also not very bright.

It's still a lie. I am not from India.

If they can fly up they can fly down, and they were just countering each other, clearly.
Are you actually stupid?
>10 years later & libtards are still mad.
Ha.
If you don't like this film you hate your Mother.

Marcus Arrius everybody.

Lots of Truckers are serial rapists & murders
He was probably a racist so that chud deserved it.
>implying this wouldn't get him lots of publicity and charity bux with all the media coverage this freak event would garner
>my dad was a coward so I'm going to abandon my coworker to get sexually harassed while I trash a guy's rig
yeah, you can try it even harder. You fail nevertheless.
let's be honest bro if you had superman's powers and someone spilled a drink on you you'd probably kill him on the spot
You guys are hypocrites you love Nolan Batman but don't give this a chance.
>Is Snyder actually stupid?

Yes Snyder is fricking stupid.
zod was grounded
Imagine saving innocent people form a mass murderer and then being sad about it. I hate israelite writers
Where were these complaints decades ago?
People weren't pretending that superhero movies were serious business yet.
yeah it was bad writing
>Is Snyder actually stupid?
Do you really have to ask?

Yes, and Snydergays are brown thirdworlders who cannot recognise that
