Why
why not
Waste of money?
Waste of space
We didn't come to this Earth to optimize space usage and save money.
A few hundred more and can build a house you can't punch through with a fist unlike most homes in the US.
They look cool and he probably got those on discount
wants a godzilla sized collection of godzilla
That would be neat if he stacked them all to look like Godzilla.
They're not particularly expensive if you buy unsealed copies. Its probably inspired by how Everything is Terrible has a massive collection of Jerry Maguire VHS tapes. Makes for a decent conversation piece too. Also
>Makes for a decent conversation piece too
Oh yeah I can imagine.
>I have 51 copies of Godzilla on VHS
>Why?
>Just because
>k...
>Makes for a decent conversation piece too.
ABOUT WHERE TO CATCH THE NEAREST CAB
>do you wanna see them
>...no
>ok let me rephrase that
>*unsheathes katana*
>*teleports behind the vhs stand
>huh nothing personal kid
Its not a particularly long conversation.
>Check out these VHS tapes I spent thousands of dollars on
>Why are you so moronic?
>I don't know, I am too moronic to figure that out.
>Oh, ok, bye.
People will do literally anything to stand out and get attention
Go be the guy who collects a thousand copies of the live action dudley do right movie
>2.4M Views
If you know, you know
Holograms are cool.
Corner the godzilla vhs market
millennials don't have personalities outside of consuming media
that would be zoomies and gen-x but close
he's clearly corning the market on Godzilla tapes, he's gonna be worth millions soon and you'll have to go to HIM of you want a Godzilla tape of your own.
I collect vinyl records. I only collect ones with with really cool cover art/pictures and if the vinyls have cool colourways. I don't have a vinyl player nor ever intend on ever really playing them, to me they're like neat little peices of art you'd hang up.
I couldn't tell you why I decide to start this collection.
what meds are you not on?
That’s awesome.
Consuming feels good, if you hold on to many items that have emotional value you can ground yourself in your own castle of memories and emotions
You should have strengthened your mind and body instead.
Modern consumerist society doesn't have any proper values to latch on to, we are merely cattle
Reddit and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race
Physical media is reddit or having 51 copies of Godzilla 1998 is reddit
>wake up
>open window
>society is collapsing
this is the exact type of shit someone would've posted on here back in the day, stop being schizo about your reddit boogeyman
Is reddit in the room with us right now, anon?
yes, i am replying to him right now
Imagine filling your place with fricking crap
Some of us have more than a Manhattan jail cell worth of space
Some of us have more than a Manhattan jail worth of cell space and fill it with nice things instead of fricking crap
Your "hot glued" jap plastic isn't nice
You can store hundreds if not thousands of Blu rays in a small corner of one room. Don't see how that's an issue unless you live in a tiny one room appartement. @und @
Then what, move thousands of discs from one corner to another every time you need to clean?
Why do that when my external drive can hold tens of thousands of movies?
Is Godzilla 1998 on vhs collectable or something? Or is he just autistic
Lame Gen-X humor
Reminds me of an art exhibition I once saw where they had a room full of copies of Shades of Grey the """artist""" bought from dollar stores.
This. Mike Fricklasa of RLM fame created an entire industry of sarcastic and disingenuous x-gen’ers
god zommeys are so fricking moronic, no that was just gen-x mike is gen-x its how they think you moron
reddit letter media never mentioned everything is terrible once, and all the movies they 'highlighted' on best of the worst I already seen through 3 minute movies on EIT, like I watched creating rem lezar 8 years before they reviewed it. Mike is just some schmuck.
He is gonna buy up all copies, making it rare then resell to collectors for huge profits.
he's one of those nerds who wastes his time and money being a fan of pop culture and just "being a nerd" in general, in other words, an ironic hipster douche homosexual
Just tonight I learned that many years ago I should've bought multiple copies of Born starring Alison Brie. It's apparently quadrupled in price. Which isn't saying much but still it all adds up. I was very tempted a few years ago just because I love the movie so much and it turns out I should've followed my heart. I coulda been about ten bucks richer.
>le ironic collection
Why are Gen-Xers obsessed with this shit
Inherited trait from boomers, but unlike boomers they can't collect valuable stuff so here we are with 51 VHS of Godzilla (1998)
Social media obsession, they just want their 15min fame dopamine hit, after that's over they realize the money was all wasted
Same energy
Biopic when
street lights are bigger than you'd expect.
same goes for traffic lights.
WHAT THE FRICK
This isn't something I had expectations about.
They are not big where I live.
they are the same everywhere only one company in the entire world makes streetlights, and they are watching you right now
I’ve driven by one on the ground before and they are honest to god fricking bear sized. MASSIVE. Housed entirely in metal. Now when I see them swinging in high wind I’m scared to even drive over them; they would 100% crush the cabin of your ride and continue on to smash you into shit.
They're not that big tbh
Dat blue Black person runnin' at time travel speed.
hi kevin
why would someone collect the most hated thing on the road
uh whitebros?
this guy is gay, right?
you wanna hook up? i know alec personally.
Your friend is clearly into the sickest fetish porn ever. Anyone who has an extra room for traffic lights definitely has room for other stuff.
Infrastructure is cool. Godzilla (1998) on VHS less cool
ANSWER ME!
I miss autistic niche websites
what is this phenotype called??
my neighbor looks like this weirdo
>what is this phenotype called??
Future Serial Killer
>Future
We both know what he is really doing when he is "taking pictures of street lights".
>We both know what he is really doing when he is "taking pictures of street lights".
Taking pictures of street lights?
Sure and dubs guy was just returning rented videos.
old school sperg
if he was born today he'd be a troony
Reminds me of that one tf2 player who's collected over a hundred thousand vaccinators at 3000 per steam account and people randomly started worshipping his autism and donating to his patreon
What would win - a 2-hour tape of the sun or 51 copies of Godzilla (1998)?
sun would have advantage on one thing
What’s that?
king
Average AVGN fan
All yours dude. Together with all the crts in the garage.
This is such a stupid trend. It was kind of funny the first time someone did it, but now it's just annoying.
That's the biggest problem. It's already been done, anyone else doing it is just ripping off the Jerry Maguire guy.
Meanwhile I'm having a hard time parting with $100+ for Godzilla vs Biollante, you know an actually good movie.
I own 3 copies of Mask of the Phantasm on VHS.
my wife's aunt collects candy wrap paper.
she's not allowed to go near sharp objects and probably lurks some of the boards in thia shithole.
>buy cheap as frick blurays (and other ways to obtain physical media)
>digitize
>put in hard drive for my jellyfin severe
>put in external hard drive as a back up
I collect horror video games (SNES to PS2 era, mostly- video games went downhill as a medium after that). I have a pretty extensive collection.
I didn’t have tons of VHS tapes as a kid, but Godzilla was one of them. Love that artwork
I have 26TB (out of 30TB) of kinos stored in 3 10TB HDDs.
I'm good and find no need to buy more since no more kinos are being made anyway.
last movie I saved is Top Gun Maverick, can't even remember the last new movie I saved before that since it's been years.
