Frick off, loser.
Of course not they'll still cry over everything that isn't straight or male.
Don't (You) me again, you fricking bot.
you
I barely remember Pantheon to be honest.
Because you're gay
What a cute woman (male)
commit ui now
Wouldn't say dying twice counts as winning anything.
Depends on the perspective it's a win for the families and friends of the uploaded person who can still have them even in death.
Also the UIs cured diseases, eliminated poverty and built space elevators which benefited embodied people as well.
Man I finished the show 3 days back and I'm still thinking about the ending.... just...
M a n
Yeah, but he wanted to be part of that future, and he was denied that.
Not his full vision, he wanted to be the all mighty god that looks over the new reality But ended up dead not being able to rule the world he envisioned due to his own short sighted god complex
It never would have worked out in his favour. Progress was just too fast for one entity to ever keep up with.
Didn't the end imply that they'd managed to resurrect every human who ever lived through dna hax?
I don't doubt Holstrom probably returned in some form. In fact, better yet, I'm going to say he did end up ascending past the form of other UIs/CIs as what was shown with SafeSurf, which was the combination of all the other UIs that had been absorbed. It's a bit of a dick ending but it does fit in with the show's apathetic view of morality.
>mfw crippled kid's fate
>but it does fit in with the show's apathetic view of morality.
Where did you get that from?
It seemed downright optimistic to me.
>Didn't the end imply that they'd managed to resurrect every human who ever lived through dna hax?
...no.
It literally did.
>"Back when I was still on earth we had already mapped and stored the DNA of every embodied of uploaded, inside that deceptively simple base four code is the epigenetic memory of everyone who ever lived going all the way back to the start of life on earth"
Not really, Holstrom didn't really believe what he was preaching, he just wanted total control, his lofty speeches about the future of humanity were secondary to being a god.
When humanity actually did start uploading it was on their terms, in coexistence with embodied humans with no one UI having absolute control over anyone or anything.
You gaygost should have talked about this show while it was still airing. Making threads now is pointless. Where were you when the show was still relevant?
The fricking board and twitter gets oversaturated with clown shit and some homosexual shit about gay hell demons, it drowns the good stuff out. Don't blame us, blame the system!
People routinely make threads on Cinemaphile about media that aired twenty years ago and put "Why no discussion/ 20xx I am forgotten/etc" in the title as if that specific show should be discussed 24/7 until the end of time and those threads get hundreds of replies, why should it be any different here?
i literally found this show like two weeks ago from one of these threads, i wish i was there when it was airing

he fricking knew
I was in the threads. It was only, what, two years ago this first started coming out?
Yeah it woulda been nice if we’d had some nice big mega thread generals and exhausted our discussion of it like with the big popular shows, but I really can’t blame anons for coming in late for a show originally from amc fricking plus.
Also season 2 got dumped in a single batch and I’m still not satisfied by the low amount of discussion that resulted in. Really a shame it couldn’t have been released weekly. I didn’t even have time to binge it the week it dropped.
No because what he really wanted to lead the future, and all he got was to be forgotten while somebody else took the reigns.
I’m pretty sure relatively few people even knew he was still “alive” until after his upload died again. So to the greater populace, it probably felt like he’d died of cancer that first time and the rest is just a historical footnote. For a guy that wanted to be worshipped, that’s gotta sting.
liberal capitalism is literally the archenemy. the only way to return to strength is to abandon the ivory towers the same way we abandoned the divine right of kings. personal strength and independence are impossible when capitalism exists because capital depends on creating subservience, which requires both dependence and weakness.
it got real gud in the last 20 mins
I wanted to see reunion though
The thing he said he wanted did come to pass: humanity did upload. But the thing he actually wanted, for him to personally become their God, didn’t happen.
So it really depends on your perspective whether or not he “won.”
I watched the show recently. It's great. Enjoy the bump
