dialogue is a mix of weirdly contrived like it was written by an ESL or just plain terrible. The plot is weak and stupid, there's no payoff for the killer or the protags they all just die stupidly. The only good parts are the ok actions scene which you can just watch on youtube

season 2 has a mystery with one of the worst reveals ever. it is a pair of siblings and the whole thing is really boring. there is some kino moments...vince vaughn and colin farrell have plenty of entertaining scenes...and the episode with the house sex party is the shit...its not bad but its terribly depressing and kind of shitty that every character basically gets fricked
The entire conspiracy was really satisfying, the fact that it was the twins who he took the diamonds from was also good.
In terms of the actual case, it was much more thrilling and shocking than season 3 which gets much more praise for its nothing Burger plot.

It’s not as good as season 1 but it’s much worse than it should be due to terrible editing. It’s only better than season 3 because season 3’s ending drags it down.

No, it's that Cinemaphile thing where morons take a few good scenes/characters in isolation and think that it makes the entire product good even if it wasn't put together well. That's my problem with S2. It's kinda like Quantum of Solace in that way.
If they'd removed gay cop and most of Vince's scenes (as kino as he is) and focused on Velcoro and female cop, it would probably have been better. Dunno why they thought they needed so many different story threads

It was a mess but I still enjoyed it a lot. All of the actors are great, and the dialogue rides a bizarre line between gritty and comical.
Ended up enjoying it a lot more on rewatch because I actually had some idea of what was going on. I don't know if they expected people to keep up with the spider web of conspiracies or if you were meant to get lost in it while watching the protags' downfall.

Season 2 was a blast when it aired. The ending was fricking stupid. That's why it's bad. Same shit with the third season.
It's really good. I like how S1 had a supernatural vibe and S2 is just surreal.
