>Hello I am Bad Intellectual Man
>I will pretend to be a hero and a scientist out to help people with my smarts
>But ultimately I will reveal myself to be manipulating everybody and devolve into a cackling villain
>Please trust me
Why is this so common in capeshit?
Read your pamphlet.
Are these Hickman variations similar to Ozymandias? Haven't read them.
No. Maker's not really self righteous like Ozy. He's more of an amoral power hungry mad scientist with a chip on his shoulder, not unlike the mainline Dr. Doom
he was a better ultimate doom than ultimate doom
Imagine if they gotten to have Doom be a different person from each universe, but the same rage and pettiness.
>main universe Victor: "RICHARRRRDS"
>Ultimate universe Richards: "SUSAAAAAN"
>some other universe Susan: "JOHNNYYYY"
>some other universe Johnny: "PARKERRRR"
>some other peter parker: "SHOCKERRRR'
>peter parker: 'YOU CAN'T ESCAPE ME'
imagine if 838 iron man is their doom figure
>"ALCOHOLLL"
wasnt future ultimate sue kang
Man it was funny to watch Cinemaphile react to this as it came out.
We had people just loving this guy kick ass and take names. Posting images showing the parallel of 616 making his academy while Maker was making his superclone army (or whatever they were).
People we getting hyped of Maker next to Hulk, and how he fricking took out all of Asgard.
And then to resolve everything the write staff went "uuuuh and Tony Stark's magic talking tumor convinces Maker's army to stand down, giant Hulk gets knocked out in two hits, and Maker loses to Sue Storms powers which he was shown able to beat before."
I liked it when he atomized all of DC in about two seconds.
It was amazing. Started as one of my favorite runs and the discussion here was top Cinemaphile. It made us think the UU could survive to Loeb. It's a shame how it ended.
I still have the original page hanging on the wall of my office.
Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
He was just a stretchy nerd.
He wasn't even the smartest guy in-universe.
Top10 and maybe #1 on-planet. Idk
no it doesn't. if someone does something bad, they were corrupt before they got power
Sound like a skill issue, I got absolute power and I'm absolutely uncorrupted.
>ultimate
ultimate was a bad run. it was just all around bad
if you think that's dumb, look at what x-writers have done to beast
Remembering:
O5 Hank McCoy.
Anyway in general I do hope this new ultimate universe becomes something cool. With newer designs and what not
>O5
O5 was only brought to 616 because they wanted to try to sell shitty O5 comics and throw beast under the bus
those are certainly words
You will never convince me that the Ultimates were bad, sorry gay but Millar is based
Go to bed Mark
Because it's realistic.
I don't get why they made Reed evil when Marvel is crawling with too many evil genius types already. Doom is supposed to be evil Reed so another Evil Reed was not really necessary. but there is nothing he can do that cannot also be done by Leader, MODOK, Thinker, Owl, or any other of the collection of smart guys that build robots for bad things.
Reed kind of stood out as one of the very few good aligned geniuses in the setting.
Marvel has been turning all the super smart guys into pseudo villains if not outright villains for a while now.
Pym has been a villain for a while now. Xavier has been floating back and forth between pure evil or pragmatic evil for a few years. Beast is not too different, and there has been a evil version of him for 25ish years.
The only one who really went the opposite was Black Panther. He was a complete butthole for 30ish years and now he is one of the most friendly, inviting characters in the setting.
