What the frick happened?
I feel like it would be more helpful to compare how each episode performed in the first week or so.
I'm not stopping you.
Would be interested too, but is there even away to see this?
Don't think you can find that but I tracked down another post talking about views per episode from august of last year.
>As of August 11 2022
Pilot: 48M views, 33 months since release (approximate)
1-1: 44M views, 22 months
1-2: 37M views, 20 months
1-3: 36M views, 19 months
1-4: 26M views, 17 months
1-5: 26M views, 16 months
1-6: 25M views, 12 months
1-7: 18M views, 10 months
2-1: 13M views, 2 weeks
>As of June 20 2023

lining them up by time since release:
>1-1 now is performing better than he pilot then
>1-6 and especially 1-7 now performing worse than 1-1 and 1-2 then
>2-1 now about on par with 1-6 then
>2-4 now worse than 2-1 then, even with an extra 2 weeks
Anon, do you require an explanation on the passage of time?
Will it explain why the views dwindled so much?
>episodes that have been up longer have had more time for more people to watch them
>episodes that are newer have had less time
puzzling, I know.
Hi Viv!
The edgy zoomer audience are growing up and exiting their edgy phase and moving on to other shit like anime. My niece watched this show, then she started watching anime and now she's a fricking weeaboo.
>zoomers
>edgy
They're the most feeble, ficke, oversensitive generation of homosexuals, though.
Same can be said about milennials, but they had an edgy phase up until they also became sensitive homosexuals as well easily ready to cancel someone over something they said over a decade ago.
Millenials kickstarted this oversensitive nonsense, particularily millennial women, but zoomers are like twice or thrice worse about it.
At least there's millennial men who still laugh at South Park
>South Park
A show that's mostly been defanged
Really? What a fricking shame. The last thing SP I consumed was Stick of Truth
Actually South Park is getting popular with younger people
Classic South Park or nu-South Park? Cause the latter is pretty inoffensive.
Younger zoomers are pretty edgy
Didn’t other generations get offended by people existing just because they were different?
Why is the typical fan of HB either 13-15 yrs old or 30+ yrs old?
>growing up
It's been three and a half years.
This homie so moronic
He is but we love him anyway
I’m the anon who wrote the original. Thanks for correcting the S3/4 frickup I made. Also don’t forget:
> S2 E1: 10 months ago
> S2 E2: 8 months ago
> S2 E3: 3 months ago
> S2 E4: 4 weeks ago
What caused such a massive drop off? 2 and 3 had a five month gap but nearly the same views. 4 came out only 2 months later but has barely over half
When HH hits youtube it's probably gonna break 50 mil again. Just saying.
HH is gonna flop hard when it finally releases
Because the only people drawn to this movie are literal tweens and children, or immature (wo)man children who never grew out of their tumblr phase
>HB
>movie
>HH is gonna flop hard when it finally releases
Maybe maybe not, personally I hope it doesnt. I've got a feeling its gonna take off again bc of how long it took to come out.
>Oh hey, it's the show I saw all over social media
>maybe I'll watch the first few episodes?
And then diminishing returns as people gradually stop watching as they either don't care or don't want to keep watching.
The shitty clown episodes. I genuinely like the rest, even the most recent episode, but was very close dropping it at that part and would tell everybody to skip those two(?) episodes if they watch this.
All the travelling to earth and assassinations got replaced with a gay bird plot. Made worse by Season 1 ending on Blitzo seeingly killing the relationship by flat out calling it whoring himself to the bird.
no one likes homosexual songs
i skip them every time. the only one i managed to watch that wasn't completely cringe was from the date episode
and the ending was shit 3/10 the animation kept it from getting a 1/10
Needs more Moxxie, Loona and bird daughter.
What if he died and got a job at IMP
I was watching the show and kinda liking it up until there was an episode with a troony (it was the next one) so i dropped it. Does it get any better? Should i pick it back up?
Brock's going to heaven.
That troony has like one line and doesnt show up again.
okay, so is that a "it's worth watching"
Just don't watch season 2.
why?
Its bad.
elaborate
It surely cant be that bad?
You'd be surprised, anon.
how could they possibly dedicate the second entire season to a character who's had like 3 different VA's???
Fujos, man
okay, now im tempted to see the trainwreck. What's the episode with the troony so i know where to pick up from?
Eh, troony wasn’t a huge part, but it was “ The Harvest Moon Festival” which was season one.
thanks anon, ill be sure to post about how terrible s2 is when i get there
Oh boy, oh boy…do I have news for you, my homie…Even the obnoxious Stolas gays on YT hate this season.
This is what a lot of fantasy cartoons have felt like for me. Steven Universe, Adventure Time, The Owl House. At least Star Vs. was "WILL THEY WON'T THEY" driven from the get-go, so it was actually a surprise when they DID have some adventuring later on.
The other shows, though, just feel like they were catering more to the shipping crowd than actually telling a story with character arcs. That weird implication that Amethyst and Peridot were interested in each other felt like fricking fan fiction.
>almost every main character so far has had sex during an episode
It's Loona's turn
People don't like how the show went from a comedy show about imps working to kill people to sloppy gay fujo fanfic
Can Vivzie just hand off writing female characters to someone else? It's clear where her attention is.
Now turn on a trip and you'll be real gay
Interesting.
Weird how it makes you ten times gayer
We're gaymaxxing, anon.
Can't fret over every butthole.
They are doing the fake edgy shit because Viv is too fat to say anything else.
>anon doesn't understand how time passes
vivzie's twitter happened
Season 2 is too gay and cringe. I can't take it.
Its not actually edgy (a character saying frick and talking about penises is not edgy in current year viv) and there's not even enough straight coom bait to balance it out.
Its like a completely different show compared to the first season let alone the pilot which doesn't even feel like the same people made it.
Why'd someone stretch a Bill Clinton morphsuit over that skeleton?
I remember when this show would get 10 mil in a day. Now it can't even get that in a month.
What happened was that instead of "Funny demon hitmen" the show we got was "Gay bird love story"
First episodes of anything almost always have the highest view count. That's when people are checking it out. In Helluva Boss's case, the pilot was the highest viewed with the first episode being very close behind because I'm going to guess fans of the pilot were surprised to see more content.
Gradually, the show starts to find its fanbase so it trickles down a bit more. The S2 episodes have been up on YouTube for much less time than the S1 episodes, so who knows what the view count will look like in one year.
I'm going to guess that the show found its fanbase, had too long of a hiatus between S1 + S2 that people forgot, some people lost interest, and they haven't been on YT as long.
>I'm going to guess that the show found its fanbase
maybe but how long will it keep it with how bad things are going?
I dunno. Not everything can be Seinfeld or a Simpsons. It's kind of natural for a show's fanbase to slowly die off. Rugrats was a massive IP once upon a time and now it barely pulls in numbers with its crappy CG reboot. Fairly Oddparents was Nick's #2 show and it eventually got cancelled. The reason why a studio will milk a property to death, your Rick & Mortys or Walking Deads, is because it's rare when a company actually gets one on their hands.
The sheer fact that a fully-animated webseries (not cheep slideshow shit) that is entirely crowd-funded with an actual production can still rack up double digit views consistently is still astonishing. Any criticisms of, "BUT IT'S FALLING OFF" just don't matter to me when Vivienne is an extremely rare case of an indie showrunner pulling in mainstream levels of fans. Homestar and Homestuck are the only times I can think of where something entirely online reached those levels. Egoraptor had to start a gaming channel just to explode in popularity-- he would've never made it that far if he kept trying to do AwesomeSeries.
Egoraptor gave up animation to be a mediocre lets player and a worse singer. He will be rotting in hell for all eternity.
Viv should give up animation for lets playing too to be tbh
We get it, Viv, your parents are insanely rich and your grandparents own rental properties in NY to fund your fujobait. You'll be irrelevant in a decade and you'll have no meaningful relationships since you keep throwing your "best friend"s away for the newer browner noses.
Mad?
>What the frick happened?
I watched it for demon girls and furrybait, not gay dad drama.
This is what they get for turning what should have been a one off joke about fricking an imp into the central plot point the story revolves around.
Vivzie happened, she turned the show from a horror comedy into her personal yaoi fanfiction. Fujos are their own worst enemy
Wasn't the original idea also from her?
>what is linear time?
>WHAT DO YOU MEAN PEOPLE CAN REWATCH OLDER EPISODES MORE TIMES THAN NEWER ONES?
I'm seeing a lot of people pointing to the relationship drama as the reason for the viewership drop-off. But there a lot of other reasons that I want to point out.
>Episode 8 never aired and this extended the waiting time between season one and two.
>The animation budget is noticeably lower
>Episodes are no longer stand-alone
>The pacing of the editing is faster and more tiresome
>The new writer, Adam, is a genuinely bad writer
>Loona has been rewritten to be physically abusive
>Loona has had no speaking roles for two episodes
>Stella has been our main antagonist for the past four episodes
>Vizzie doesn't want Stella to be a cool antagonist. Even though the story boarders make Stella look cool and manipulative, Vizzie writes Stella as a bimbo. So she's just kind of sexy pathetic.
>The show and fandom are controlling and they limit who you are supposed to like, ship or lewd.
>Critics of the show get lambasted as "NOT TRUE FANS" by youtubers like sarcastic chorus much like how it was with RWBY.
tl;dr is that the show IS worse in every aspect, has lost a lot of potentially redeeming qualities, and pointing this out will only lead to drama; so it's better just to quietly leave.
When it comes to youtubers anyone here watched those videos of Nux about HB? I personally do not watch them because it feels like they would be just mindless praise that would annoy me to no end. Are they as bad as they look?
>starts as an edgy irreverent comedy, akin to old Newgrounds cartoons like Leo and Satan or Hot Diggity Demon's horse cartoons but with a higher technical budget
>characters are obnoxious buttholes because that's funny in an irreverent comedy and gives the characters lots of chances for jokes
>resonates really well with the people that grew up with that stuff
>shifts to character drama
>except characters are still obnoxious buttholes so now they want us to feel bad for the guy that threatens to rape his employees and illegally kills humans
>what the h*ck why did the tonal shift turn off a lot of people, this is fricking moronic (don't say moronic guys we're politically correct now)
>how come the fandom has been reduced to people that want to have sex with the western sexually charged characters in an era where western sexually charged characters are disallowed
The views fell off but the fanbase is mostly intact, we can see this by the number of likes each new episode gets, so far the episodes have recieved around 60+% of the amount of likes that episodes from previous season recieved.
Likes don't represent quality, usually people who got sick of it just stop watching especially if it's something long-running like this.
Places to discuss properties officially tend to devolve into hugboxes because most people getting sick of any decline in quality just leave, so the creators are left with people who will pat them on the back on their road to mediocrity. The only way Helluva will get any noticeable amount of dislikes will be for the wrong reasons, like if it does something that triggers the fujos.
