I feel like If I had my dream show in the making I would change my VA if I think its for the better, even if its seen has immoral or what not. On the other hand it is annoying for the viewer if they where attach to a specific voice, but its been like what 3 years, I bet most dont even remember how they sound
Some shows change actors as needed, don't know how common it is. Whatsherface from Fresh Prince of Bel Air was changed as I recall.
Some movie sequels change actors too, Rhodey from Iron-Man, I think one of the warriors in the Thor movies, and then they killed them off.
Even weirder for shit like game adaptations. They got someone else to imitate Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow for the Sea of Thieves Pirates of the Caribbean quests.
It's not uncommon. Pilots are often rough and aside from being used to pitch a show, are also good for figuring out what works and what doesn't. There's a HUGE difference between the actual pilot for Family Guy and the first episode that aired on TV. (Mila Kunis was also brought in as Meg with no attempt at making the voice sound similar to Lacey Chabert). The changes in Hazbin may be weird at first, but pretty soon people will adjust to the new normal and then the original voices will sound weird to them.
Some anons seem to want to take any and every opportunity to shit on Vivzie, but this is not a big deal and happens all the time. It sucks for the people who did voices for the pilot, but the smart ones will refrain from talking shit, keep things friendly, and parlay this experience into more opportunities.

Going by what Michael said from the beginning, it wasn’t the SAG that got the cast let go, it wasn’t the studio. It was all Viv, who absolutely used the original voice cast as free advertising agents for the show, only to then throw them away when it was time to.

The VAs in the pilot were fine. They clearly weren't amateurs doing voicework for the first time.
If I felt that a specific actor captures a character better I'd do it. But there's no performance in the pilot that really shouts "this was bad". Compared to the lackadaisy pilot's casting it was damn near perfect, with the real problem lying with the writing of the lines, not so much the delivery. Angel Dust's introductory ramble of middleschool curses for example was just fricking awful. The delivery was fine, but jesus christ the lines were fricking BAD.
Angel Dust's "I'll suck your dick" line was gold.

The VAs were what saved that pilot. It's structure was awful, it's plotting was awful and dialogue was generally bad. The way they played those characters and their delivery was what made them good.
I can't imagine I'd have better voices available at that point than before. There's plenty of up-and-coming VAs who never get the chance, so I don't exactly need the money for big names.
They were fine. The issue is that they continued to promote the series with the same VAs (the music video) as well as streams featuring some of them. It's pretty normal for pilot VAs to not be used again but you can't really blame them or other people for feeling blindsided when you keep using them until you throw away the rag when you're done.

'21, with multiple other actors following suit, like Charlie and Alastor's singing voices+Nifty+Cherri Bomb. No other pilot VAs have formally announced anything but most people assumed they all got the boot when audition sheets were leaked.
The point being that a lot of fates were left in limbo for 1.5 years but if that email is real it finally confirms no one is coming back. Even when the audition sheets leaked I saw some people coping "W-well maybe the pilot VAs just have to re-audition as a formality"

The explanation seems to be that the recordings for Radio Play are from 2021 (according to Silva in the description of the video) and Silva just didn't came around to finish up the project earlier.
That being said what he said on stream could also mean that since he was Alastor at any given point in time his voice cannot be used in association with the character at all anymore, no matter if he keeps the role or not.

Is there precedent for holding people to NDA even now if they were fired and recast 1-2 years ago?
I know there are some contracts of this kind for character actors at the Disney parks.
From what I have been told anecdotally (applicable to the US) those are time limited in the beginning, so you are not fired but the contract will simply run out on its own in a lot of cases.
On the other hand I remember a character actor that used to do Cinderella decades ago and went in to play the Fairy Godmother as she grew too old to play a princess so they are obviously keeping good workers around longer.

I can't say anything about voice actors in particular, I'm just applying what I know the handling is like in other areas to it.
Since lifetime NDAs are very common in cases where you settle out of court I am just gonna go ahead and say from the employer side they are a good idea to cover your ass with the option to sue everyone raising a stink into oblivion (and they know you can).
I'm not saying they're retaliating. I'm basically saying that by being professional about things and not burning bridges, it seems like Ed was welcome to do more roles if he wanted. Basically like with any other white collar job, if your contract isn't renewed for reasons that aren't personal, you can still work at that place for different roles if you keep a positive relationship with the boss/company.
Some of the other VAs - while trying to be polite and not give too much info - still publically addressed things in a way that seemed quasi-accusatory and unprofessional. They said things that could be screengrabbed and be used as ammo against the show director in Cinemaphile threads for example. And I'm guessing there was something else stupid that probably happened if that leak above is real.
I don't think they were being quasi-accusatory. A lot of them just announced that they were not asked to return, and released statements around the same time. One of them said it was not really a union thing, which could imply other motivations.

Blitzo gets a song called “If only I knew”. Brandon isn’t singing, but the same singer from “Moxxie’s Bad Trip”. She wasn’t clear, but this song will likely be towards the end, possibly addressing Blitzo finding out about Stolas’ abuse in the hands of Stella. It’s the same episode where Octavia yells at him about the antidepressant pills.
[Spoiler] There will be a huge battle with Stella and Andrealphus vs Blitzo, Stolas, Millie, Moxxie, and Loona. Stolas gets captured in this, IMP tries to save him, Blitzo takes this personally, almost defeats Stella while calling her out for what she’s done , but is overpowered by Andrealphus. Octavia comes in and shows just how powerful she is, saving her Dad and IMP. Leading to the antidepressant scene, where she locks herself away in her dead mother and uncle’s castle.
[Spoiler] After this, Stolas’ role will be more important than ever, with Blitzo becoming a nicer person to try and help him win Via back.

By 3-4 months I think she meant the final primary animation process (before Corrections of course) . We wouldn't literally have leaks for S2E12 if the entire process was 3-4 months.

That's frankly... not really relevant if Moxxie was born in Wrath and moved to Greed as a Kid or if was born in Greed and just says Wrath because he cares more about his mothers side of things or whatever, nether one really changes anything about him in the present.
It's relevant because it shows the writers have no memory of/don't give a damn about anything previously established. I'm not even invested in this series beyond cringe-watching and I noticed that contradictory detail.
A more egregious example is how in S1E2 a line in Stolas's song pretty explicitly implies his long lifespan has allowed him to experience everything life has to offer and fatherhood is the only new journey left, but then S2 fricks that up by making him young even by human standards.

Stolas and Stoltiz was pretty much the most praised aspect of the S1. So they wouldn't of had any reason to move away from focusing on that. It wasn't until it was just episode after episode in a row of it (and people being mad at the backstory in the S2 opener because meeting as kids is cliche yadda yadda) after months and months between episodes that a substanial portion of the viewer base got tired of it. And hell if Helluva Boss was a normal show with a normal airing schedule im not even convinced that would of happened at least not to the extent it did (and obviously episode 8 being pushed back to well... this week hurt too since it meant Ozzies led straight into another Stolas drama episode.. and Seeing Stars was also heavy on the Owl Drama so it was 3 in a row)

Stella would leave regardless because she was beaten down and possibly stripped a bit by Blitzo’s disgraceful rage. Octavia and Stolas are non-factors to her.
It’s oddly particular how Stella specifically hires Striker and Striker is swimming in piles of money. Like Blitzo and Fizz, Striker is putting on his persona that becomes more obviously fake when you compare him with the other wrath ring members. Stolas, Stella, and Asmo all follow similar trends in having connection and a dependence on one of most relevant imps in the series.
Blitzo runs a completely unique business that garners the attention of Hell’s sinners.
Striker is a top class assassin that can kill the most powerful demons in hell.
Fizz is one of the most popular celebrities and influencers in hell. They all each have a high-level connection that helps them reach there. Striker is the most obvious with his divine weapons.

We all saw it. I also did (one of the few times I was at the right time in the right thread). There was also some wips for Seeing Stars I believe that were pretty much spot on and some for Western Energy with backgrounds. These are real and we all suffer because of it. But you can bet people will still praise both of those episodes because melodrama even without any rhyme or reason or proper writing equals to some people to a masterpiece. Stolas cries and that is enough for them to sympathize with him and Viv doesn't have to do much else. So many other ways to give Via a proper reason to be absolutely mad at him, but they chose this asinine reason because they don't want him to be in the wrong. And many fans will fall for this crap.

Since this episode the abuse the poor wittle owl goes through is bought to light, I’m not so sure, but you could be right. I’m getting sick of him, though. I kinda hope she’s killed just so his woobie fest will be over, despite him being my mutual’s fav character.
The biggest reason I suspect Stella isn’t being killed off is that she’s already on the game, barely standing, and Blitzo is spending all of his time mocking her very existence.
Plus, the scenes we have from her and her brother feel so creepily sinister. Stella is a bad abuser. Her brother isn’t and Stella looks the most vulnerable around him. Stolas is technically more powerful than her brother, yet she rather lives at his house than her brother’s. There are so many red flags with that fricking Elsa bird.
Whatever is in that house might tell us a much more fricked story about Stella’s childhood, where no one can ever witness his needs.
I thought her fricking her brother would have been interesting in a Cersei Lannister way the show ostensively started her general first impression with, but no they can't let women at all frick even if it is to depict it in the wrong unlike the first episode and even then the cannibal mom was voiced by a man.
It would explain why Stella has Genophobic cues since the Circus episode showcases how uncomfortable she is with it. Stolas is supposedly bad in bed in her words, but we know how exploitative that perverted bird can be. Stella often looks displeased by any direct sexual compliments and moves. Like Striker does in both of his episodes.
The image we’ve gotten of Stella on her childhood could be her freaking out about the marriage and it’s implications.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Stella and Striker knew each other because Andrealphus was that much of a perverted frick. Essentially, what if Stolas was a monster that truly abused Blitzo. Striker does heavily assume Blitzo’s relationship with Stolas is much worse than it really is.

Viv is a fan of Bojack huh? Well I never remember in Bojack being a moment where it made a song to tell us how bad we should feel for him. And honestly this is how this entire show is. Stolas in many ways acts like Bojack. He fricks up everyone's life for his own desires, but when Bojack treated this properly by holding him accountable this wants you to feel sorry for Stolas and hopefully forget about it. That is why Octavia's outburst has the most fricking asinine reason to be upset. Fricking anti-depressants she finds and Stolas is FRICKING KIDNAPPED in this episode (again I might add). They do that because a legit reason for her to be upset would make the audience side with her being accept and they don't want that. They want this to be a mistake on her part. Stolas and Stella got fricked by the same writing decision, which ultimately brought the whole series down. Stolas should have been a millennia old demon who was bored with life and found something that reinvigorated his passion, in an unexpected place, and at the expense of his wife and daughter. That would have been vastly more interesting, both in terms of character exploration and ripeness for drama. Making him a thirty-six-year-old gay man pining for his childhood friend was an immensely disappointing move. Besides being far more cliché, it does a terrible disservice to the setting. Why bother basing your character on an arch-demon that psuedoepigraphically dates to the time of King Solomon (1000 B.C.E.) if you're just going to make him a middle-aged gay man with depression? Holy shit if I wanted that I have people in my IRL social circle I would go drink with

theres this idea going around in /tg/ that the push for "le diversity" is not actually to see different ethnicities, but to recreate LA demographics in media. For example ASOIAF is pretty diverse, but in a reasonable way. The new House of the Dragon show shits all over that by shoehorning in black characters out of nowhere with no explanation. Despite the fact that both GoT and the books have believable black characters. Another thing is how the diversity advocates keep calling for diversity in european inspired media, rather then just.. making a something based off west african history. I feel like this is another example of that, instead of being about hell, this show is set in red california.
I think the overall problem with Helluva Boss and shows like it is the fanbase gets ahead of what Vivzie is able to put out regularly. If you're going to be extremely heavy on fan interaction, you're going to get huge amounts of head cannon. This wouldn't be a problem if the show had a regular schedule. However Viv only seems able to put out an episode once every few months, which not only gives people enough time to wildly speculate on which direction the show is going, but also develop attachments to the ideas that they foment. People really liked Stella for some reason and it probably got out of control from Viv's perspective, which is why we're getting this rubberband effect in season 2 that is outright flanderizing the character. Helluva Boss blew its wad with episode 2 and now we're all left wiping cold cum off our faces. But it’s a lost cause at this point. If Vivzie has already driven the bus off the bridge it’s not like she can turn around and fix it.
At this point, I suspect that Stella's "redemption," if she gets one, is going to be catching a bullet from Striker to save Octavia.

Got has an AMAZING start, but cracks show as early as S5. S6-7 are okay, S8 is one of the most universally reviled endings in tv history. The painful and rocky production of that show deserves a documentary of its own.

Not really, every major character death is pretty impactful and the books overall have a much better story then the show.
The last season was really bad like season 6 and 7 had problems but with the last one they didn't even try. The directors probably wanted out of the show because they had other stuff lined up namely a Star Wars show, which ended up not happening, and they shat out an ending as fast as possible and its really obvious no one cared because multiple episode are filled with careless mistakes like leaving water bottles and starbucks cups on set.
The writing was amazingly awful. There are a ton of hanging threads. Multiple major characters suddenly do a 180 in personality and motivation for literally no reason. The big looming threat of the show, that was hyped out for the entire series, was dealt with in a single episode half way in in an extremely moronic asspull way and nothing about it was explained. That particular episode was really bad because it so dark no one could see anything but the audience was blamed by because it was made with home theaters in mind or some bullshit. Like how dare you not have a home theater.

I do have a small prick, because it doesn't exist. You didn't predict my character correctly. I'm a former fan of the show who thought the pilot was alright when the immoral behavior was more like a "lolrandom" thing where /everybody's/ bad and that's the humor (IASIP style). But then they did a quick 180 and started making the gay owl sing to make me take the relationship dynamics seriously. This turned Stolas' cheating on her into something that was actually serious and of consequence. The writing team realized this and had to retcon the character as a result. They did this so poorly (because it was done so obviously) that it's as if Stella now a walking around corpse standing in for her previous actual self. I will not forget what Stolas did.

Stolas takes the blame for the murder and is in serious trouble for only like a few episodes before it focused on something else, Stolas trying to win back Via, who’s becoming colder and more depressed.

I think it would have been more interesting if Stolas' marriage was in a relatively good shape, therefore making Blitzo this irresistible guilty pleasure of his. He would slowly question what love means to him etc. By making his wife a total b***h he basically got a permission from a moral standpoint to ruin his marriage.
I'd also loved it if they kept the fast paced verbal humor of the pilot. The pilot feels like an old Brandon Rogers fever dream and it's highly rewatchable. We get hints of this in the 3rd episode, that's why I think is the best, but the rest of the series just drowns in meaningless drama.
