the only downside of this is its too short. you can tell they get in to some great conversations but we only see a tiny bit of it and really the show is them two advertising airbnb properties every night
For me it's the guest spots that really drag it down. They started off decent enough since they were spread out but now there's someone every episode to come and steal a third of the runtime for some inane chat.
the episode with lee mack was very cringe iirc. he brings some stupid magnet that makes a massive splash every time he throws it scaring the fish away. though I think the reason they slowed it down a bit is because of Bob's health - he talks about shingles in the latest eps.
Mack was there specifically to fill in for Bob cos of his shingles. Bringing a fricking magnet along cos he's a vegan even though they do catch and release for 99% of the show was just annoying. Let alone the fact he was doing it 10 foot away from Paul trying to fish all while claiming he's after a gold wedding ring. With a magnet.
I can't remember if it was in Bob's autobiography or the Gone Fishing book but Bob wrote about how much he wants to take Matt Berry out fishing. Those three clowning around and chatting shit while fishing together will be the absolute peak of the show if it ever happens.
