I don't bother with tabletop and have zero hope for this succeeding but I wish ultramarines weren't the fricking poster child for everything space marine or Imperium related when it comes to 40K. Not only are there other chapters available to be explored, but also entire aspects of the Imperium. Maybe that's for the best, I don't know. I just know it would probably be way easier to make a quality movie or show that was narrowly focused on one small part of the galaxy rather than trying to capture its entirety in a single piece of media, which is basically impossible.
They could do a commissar buddy cop investigating a hive city chaos cult. A Band of Brothers-esque take on guardsmen fighting off an ork invasion. An inquisitor and his entourage solving some conspiracy. The good thing about 40k is that the setting is so big that just about any story you want to tell can theoretically be within the lore. Unless they start fricking with foundational shit, they have a pretty wide berth to do whatever they want.
