I dont really see it as being anti woke. They clearly show how John's boomer mentality keeps him from selling his land puts his family in a bad position and they'd all be better off if he just got rid of the place, got his millions out of it and bought a smaller patch of land and a nice house somewhere away from there. Every issue could have been solved if he wasn't a fudd. Also Jaimie is the only sensible one but I don't think the target audience sees this. John is the reason things are so fricked up, Beth makes things worse, Jaimie is trauma bound to his family (similarly to Roman Roy) and the other brother with long hair, the one with the Squaw, is just doing his best. He's not the cerebral type, Rip and Jaimie are really the only ones that seem to 'think' and see how shitty the situation is but Rip is just thankful to not be face down in the dirt and Jaimie is still trying to get approval
It's a decent show once you learn to appreciate the nuance, on the surface it's generic but there's actual substance that I didn't see at first. I still don't care if I see the last season though
The one thing that stuck out is the blonde woman vegan strawman character-they could have just made her more ridiculous/cliche but they made her and John reach an understanding which presents a message that you dont need to ostracize somebody just because they subscribe to a different flavor of dogma than you do which isn't woke at all-of it was pretending to be anti woke they would have handled her character more disrespectfully
but beth is annoying she is a large part of why i dont care for yellowstone
