It's throwing away secret identities they are just going public about the schools existence and the teams so mutants know who to turn to. Besides you can do something different and just not have the Sentinels exist yet or just not for quite awhile. The public has no reason to make them just yet if they've been hidden.

Their last big ensemble film was Eternals which turned into a fricking shit show. Now we have an Xavier cameo in Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness complete with X-Men Animated Series music stinger. A Beast cameo in The Marvels. X-Men '97 was pushed back and is coming out next year but has a lot of changes. Deadpool 3 has the void from Loki show with characters from Fox universe fighting Mad Max style. I have no faith we will get a decent film. The First Class series really wasted the characters and I didn't even watch their version of Dark Phoenix.
To be honest the older movies really made Rogue, Storm, Jean, Kitty and others really fricking boring. Hopefully we can get Rogue fricking up Brie Larson.
