He's also not mutant

Disney is cancer
>Was namor always Mexican in the comics then?
Namor was created in the 30's and was based on the actor Johnny Weissmuller, but what bothers me the most is that not even Namor's Vegeta hairstyle was kept by the MCU, how is it possible to make a live action film and leave behind the things that most define the character?
Yes, he isn't a mutant, he's Black Panther but Mexican, he gets his power from a Jaguar God, same way BP gets his powers from a Panther God. He also lives in super tech advanced Mexican Wakanda
homie is ugly as frick, Namor is supposed to be a chad, irresistible to women, if Feige was in the line of the Latin lover he should look for a young Antonio Bandeiras, but again they got it wrong way again Brie Larson, Tessa Thompson, Simu Liu, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh and others

If the actor managed to bulk up for the role, that will improve Namor's appearance a lot, since he's supposed to be ripped. But I agree it's a weird casting choice, especially for a golden age character.
>Feige was in the line of the Latin lover he should look for a young Antonio Bandeiras
Is not Antonio Banderas spanish? I think there is a difference between spanish and mexican. I went to belize on a holiday once they are very different people from spain haha
Honestly? It wasn't half bad. The fat "supergenius" Black person was annoying, but the others were fine. Some good shots and locations and cosmic/ancient alien stuff. Ikaris was a legitimately good character too. Give it a shot if you've got a free night and can't think of much else to watch, you won't lament the hours.
The supergenious was almost like an SNL skit at times. I appreciate that they at lest went with a goofy looking fellow so the character himself wasn't to be taken too seriously.
>It wasn't half bad. >moronic shill unironically try this here and just assumes speaking like an user will be enough to cover up
Nice try, shill, the movie was trash
breasts or leave
Namorita's casting is worse. She's supposed to be a contrast to Namor in appearance and demeanor and they cast some frumpy looking weird b***h. Although I agree that the unisex suits they put these actresses in are very lame.
Mesoamerican history nerd, I sort of think it's shit
I like the earrings, nose plugs, and lip piercings on Namor. Those are pretty authentic but that's all the good
The arm/leg bands are fine, those existed and I think the sci-fi engravings is excusable but the collar/pectoral garments and especially the headdress in the fancier outfit (pic) are a lot more just "generic media sterotypes" of Mesoamerican fashion then anything historically rooted. Headdresses and pectorals WERE a thing, but not really as most media depictions use them in either context or specific appearance. The headdress here might unironically be one of the worst i've ever seen, though if I had to give some concessionary compliments, I like the turquoise mosaic and some of the nose/forhead/cheek guard pieces resemble some details on Maya sculptures, but it's really still just throwing shit together, and the gold ornamentation on that outfit remind me more of Southeast Asia then even media sterotypes of Mesoamerica.
I also dislike tying him to the god Tepeyollotl, which seems to only be used so they can have a Jaguar vs a Black panther as a big feline thematic clash. Tepeyollotl has no links to the water or ocean or the sea whatsoever, there's like 10 other dieities or monsters that would have worked better. Tlaloc in particular would have been an excellent choice not just because of those associations and the fact that they're already renaming Atlantis to be Tlalocan after Tlaloc's realm, but also because Tlaloc like most other Mesoamerican rain gods actually is thought to have roots from early Olmec were-jaguar deities, that's why Tlaloc still retains fangs in most depictions.
Also Attuma(?) who nobody has posted yet is even worse, just complete nonsense apocalypto bone shit, aside from (again) good piercings arguably his spear being based on Mixtec ones.
I don't mind the aztec aesthetic, but the bone in the nose is a little much
10 to 1 it's some kind of alien-santeria-magic surface breathing device.
It's not a bone, it's a jade bead/column. Again, that's one of the few accurate parts.
>MUH AZTEC HERITAGE
What the frick is this Hollywood bullshit "diversity"? Seems fake and superficial as frick.
What about the Mayan culture?
Mayans were basically extinct by the time the Spanish arrived. They are an OLD culture where I'm sure much of the Aztec knowledge came from.
>OLD culture
They rose around 300 BC and were done by 500 AD. When the Egyptians were around since 8K BC and the Minoans since 3K, you can in no way call them an "old culture".
The united Mayan empire was long dead, but the Yucatan peninsula was still full of Mayan city-states and kingdoms. There are still millions of native Maya speakers today.
All of you are wrong
The earliest Maya cities were around by like 800BC, such as Nakbe, but non-urban, non-stratified Maya sites date back to even earlier. (I'd suspect that also sites like Nakbe were around when the very earliest Mesoamerican cities like the Olmec site of San Lorenzo was too, they just weren't urbanized yet)
300BC is when the earliest examples of Maya writing date back to, but it's highly likely the script developed a few centuries earlier (the earliest evidence of Mesoamerican writing in general dates back to Olmec examples around 900BC, to my knowledge; Zapotec and Epi-olmec writing were invented probably around 500BC which is when I'd guess Maya came about). 200AD is the transition between the Preclassic/Formative period (when cities, formal governments, class systems, large scale architecture, writing etc were developed) and the Classic period (when those things became widespread in Mesoamerica, West Mexico aside). A lot of people assume the Classic Maya collapse (which happened across 700-900 AD, roughly, not 500, if anything i'm starting it a bit early here) resulted in the Maya vanishing or not being an urban civilization anymore, but in reality it mostly impacted some large cities in the Southern and Central Maya areas, medium and smaller settlements were fine and the giant cities in the North actually grew afterwards in the Early Postclassic
As the last anon states, there were still Maya city-states and kingdoms around when the Spanish arrived in the North and Western Maya areas (some elsewhere), and there are still millions of Maya people today, but they're wrong in that there was never a united Maya empire. You could argue some of the larger Classic Maya dyanisties were "empires", I guess, but it's a stretch. The actual closest thing would be the League of Mayapan in the early to mid Postclassic, but there were still other competing Maya states/alliances

>I like the earrings, nose plugs, and lip piercings on Namor
they look like shit, even if you werent shilling accuracy is irrelevant on a fantasy character if they look bad
you are not a nerd, redditor, just because you read some easy trivia everyone knows
Youre just a homosexual
theyd act better than the femcel bait you shill in your movies, landwhale c**t
breasts or gtfo
Of course Namor stays somewhat true to the comics costume but all the women in the MCU are covered head to toe.
they make the movies to insecure homosexual twitter femcels and evangelic soccer mom karens and think they will strongarm all the men into being little pussies like they are
He is a manlet anon, just like Tom Cruise and looks like a villain from a low-budget Tarantino movie. And these new MCU directors take all their friends to work for the Disney.
Tom Cruise can pull it off. This guy would be miscast even if he was 8ft tall.
But maybe he'll pull a bait & switch and give a decent performance. The problem is that they've already changed too much of the character, so it will be some unique mcu namor that is unlike the rest.
I understand them wanting to distance him from the whole Atlantis thing, given that Aquaman beat him to the theaters, but did they have to make him look like a moronic cholo with a nose ring?
>OLD culture

old culture for the americas, doofus. we don't have any information past 300 BC. extant records are a rarity in the ancient world - even to a world-wide extent. we have nothing on the phoenicians, or the early slavs, or etc.
The united Mayan empire was long dead, but the Yucatan peninsula was still full of Mayan city-states and kingdoms. There are still millions of native Maya speakers today.
It's okay anon, Inhumans are the real Atlanteans. Their city is named Attilan, and most have GrecRoman names. Balackagar's already cast as an UberChad white man, so all we need is an 11/10 redhead for Medusa.

Did they stop trying to push the comics now that they own X-men movies again? There's some good stories for the Inhumans, but they're best when they're sort of like faerie court myths, existing almost entirely outside the mortal realm. I guess that slot is already filled with Eternals in the movies now though.
i dont really care if they change inhuman origin in the mcu but namor holyfrick this the dumbest thing disney ever do i mean hes your first marvel superhero have some respect atleast with his legacy
>spics get handed down myths starring a pejeet-looking manlet who can't stop REEEing that he's shitbrown >GreekChads get Russell Crowe and his harem
Yeah, I'm thinking they're okay.
yeah thats my point, these days people know aquaman more because arthur still have his own comic run meanwhile namor basically just fantastic four side character and occasionaly avengers villain in the comic
Namor is latino now and the first thing Victoria Alonso and Feige did was to get a latina actress with no ass and no breasts, do they really know what the latino target audience likes? Or are they just rich morons?
They're not casting "Latinos" in the way you think them, basically Meds. They're casting Injuns, Natives, which are uglier brown Asians. Pocahontas and El Dorado aren't reality. Conquistadors fricked them because they were sex fiends, not because they looked good.
>They're casting Injuns, Natives, which are uglier brown Asians. Pocahontas and El Dorado aren't reality. Conquistadors fricked them because they were sex fiends, not because they looked good.
These versions of Namor/Namorita will be only loosely based on the source material.
If rumors are true, they're taking a lot of creative liberties to basically change their background and even the reason for their powers.
they are rich morons trying to virtue signal
They ruined shang shi by only casting hideous actors that were so fricking ugly the chinese got offended
These versions of Namor/Namorita will be only loosely based on the source material.
If rumors are true, they're taking a lot of creative liberties to basically change their background and even the reason for their powers.
thats not what they talked about, but about casting hideous ugly monster people because they think everybody looks the same and want burkas everywhere to babyfy and pussify everything
I don't see the MCU going the horror route again unless they get Raimi to do it.
They'll probably turn him into Aquaman 2.0. even though he's the same butthole who sunk the Titanic.
Yeah I liked it. You could make a tv show similar to The Terror except the setting is in a submarine and Namor is the Tuunbaq equivalent. It doesn't even need to be R-rated, most of the implied violence can be done off-screen.
But the MCU isn't that ballsy.
Some have had windows but they're usually situated towards the top of the vessel.
This comic takes place in the 50s so I'm not sure which model it's based on.
Their creation was close, but the fundamental difference is that Namor is a reluctant villain and Aquaman is a reluctant hero.
Funnily enough, Namor's ability to fly predates that of Superman, who was still unable to do it at the time.
He was marble's first character along with the original human torch

they think they suck because the producers hold the hands of the directors who always ask for more wokeness and it gets worse when they get woke directors like taika and gunn
I'll toss the MCU a bone and say they win a point for no pussying out on namor's elf ears.
Unlike another certain character.
But they also seem to be taking a page from Adam's book and doing the Aztec thing, similarly to Adam's Egyptian thing.
I'm not convinced disney execs don't think they're the same character. >remember that shazam villain with the egyptian underwater motif?

He would hate being lumped with the muties anyway. MCU Namor really has nothing to be angry about in general. He'll be a happy go lucky guy who lets Reed cuck him for a change.
Ironic, because he hates white people. The actor, Tenoch Huerta (OP's) It's a left leaning trash grifter, because according to him, brown people are discriminated in Mexican media, film industry, etc. Just check his twitter. He always type some anti white stuff.
So yeah, he is ironically El Hitlerio. "Whitexicans" are his "jews"
He doesn't discriminate at least. All surface dwellers are bad.
But the prospect of him sinking half of Wakanda is tempting me to give it a chance if only for hilarity.
>I fricking love it
Then you don't count, like those who didn't vote for Biden, they don't count as black. You're only black if you buy into the narrative
Nita is the bubbly whimsical one. Namora is the stern mommy. Both look nothing like the actress they chose but I digress. Atlanteans might not even be blue at all.
I need to colonize an atlantean gf
his dad is so lucky
[...]
It's not his mother. Namora is his cousin. Namorita is her daughter.
moronic writers couldn't come up with better names so people get them confused all the time.
So she's STILL miscast. As for Namor's mother, she'll probably also be miscast if they decide to show her anyway.
Pic related. It was "leaked" the same time as Cholomor.
>every actress turned into androgynus grey paste >the young hip girl idea of a "rebellious outfit" is a out of shape cringe manly suit that looks like a moronic person playing dress up >they are so gimped and deluded they still force them to do failed cool manly "poses"
They are so desperate to b***hfy all culture, everything is the wet dream of an insecure soccer mom
these roles will shift to include people who are progressively more ordinary than the previous iterations, and in the end, you won't be able to tell they're supposed to be superheroes at all
They're not casting "Latinos" as that'd include white-looking and Med ones. They're casting the most Amerindian looking fricks they can find because they've culturally appropriated Atlantis and are turning it into Hispanic Wakanda. >movie opens with Spiclanteans fighting the Conquistadors >200 Spaniards took on an entire continent and a literal race of super powered hispanics and won
It's honestly funny at this point.
>Namor is an ancient Aztec being who fought against the conquistadors and (presumably) hates the Spaniards >speaks Spanish
BAHAHAHAHA do these people even think about this shit for 2 seconds before putting pen to paper
i'm not a fan of the casting, but part of namor's thing is to hate humans despite being half human himself. it's not that radically different from a self hating mestizo hating spanish despite speaking it

The casting is the smallest issue t b h. They're apparently changing his origin as well
Yes, he isn't a mutant, he's Black Panther but Mexican, he gets his power from a Jaguar God, same way BP gets his powers from a Panther God. He also lives in super tech advanced Mexican Wakanda
This is Namora, the anon is asking about Namorita who needs to be a teenager, but at this point they are going to cast a transgender girl r a ugly dyke
Oh, so that's his mother. Makes more sense now. But actually.. it's still miscast unless they make her blue.
And if they're withholding from Nita, good. I'd rather they not taint her.

I’ve never cared for Namor. He’s like an even gayer aquaman. So what if he’s miscast? They cast that drunk Affleck to pay pre-JL Batman and everyone ate that up on release because “le reddkit knight returns reference”. People made fun of that shit when it was announced too. I’m over it.
atlanteans have weird curved eyebrows that always give them away
there was actually an arc where he had to put a disguise on so people wouldn't notice something was off about his face
the black eye thing is a pretty recent depiction, they only stared doing it after that horror comic
his eyes have always been light, but they're also hard to see in general
IIRC, he was born in Mexico but isn't actually a native, based on some old interview I watched with him. Can't remember what ethnicity he said he was though.
Yes, he isn't a mutant, he's Black Panther but Mexican, he gets his power from a Jaguar God, same way BP gets his powers from a Panther God. He also lives in super tech advanced Mexican Wakanda
They made Mexican BP. He isn't a mutant anymore
So they're taking Marvel's first mutant and depriving him of his title, natural powers, and everything that makes him unique. Bill Everett must be spinning in his grave.

Luckily I hate Black Panther/Wakanda, so if they're going to POC the frick outta the Submariners, I'm glad their doing it in a film I already plan on not watching

Anon where have you been? DC is loved by ethnics. Seriously, every DC Fandome seems to mostly be Indians and it is the same when it comes to Snyderfans. >Batgirl is black >Superwoman is hispanic. >Black Canary. >Cyclone is black.
DC is leaning into minorities far more than marvel.
I don't care that he's mexican since he's only half-human anyway, but they could've picked someone who looks the part.
The Namorita casting is even worse.
>all these morons here crying "Muh aztec Namor" >Huerta learned a Mayan language for his role.

The movies/shows helped them significantly, but the vast majority of normies still don't buy comics, and if they do, it's usually TPBs of old runs.
Maybe 5% of the people who went to see Endgame have read a comic in their lives.

it gotta be way less than that, comics were struggling 10 years ago and their market is much smaller nowadays, the best sellers would be cancelled 10 years ago, and the best sellers from 10 years ago would be cancelled in the 80s
>Unironically how does capeshit comics stay in business?
DC had two massive waves of layoffs recently, and all marvel writers are making sub-poverty wages.

I fully expect mcu namor to bend the knee as soon as he tells black panther "we're not so different you and I"
>I fully expect mcu namor to bend the knee as soon as he tells black panther "we're not so different you and I"
It's pretty much confirmed. The supposed leaked plots goes like this >genius Iron Negress finds some Vibranium >it's in Cholomor's waters which borders the Wakandan mines )how that works is beyond me) >Spicland and Nigland come to blows as everyone wants the Iron Negress speshul vibranium >it's all revealed to be a ploy by the evil whitey Doom who planned this from the getgo and appears in the post-credits scene
Well, at least they're bringing in Doom finally. I hope that they don't frick up the casting completely, but my expectations will be realistic.
Namor and Doom are on friendly terms more often than not, so it will be a bit lame to have them fight immediately.
>bringing in Doom finally
Kang is black, the High Evolutionary is black, Namor is Mexican...what makes you believe Doom won't be another bypoc disgrace?
I love Namor and Doom's bromance, but I want MCU to have nothing to do with Spicmor. They ruined Kang too, so all Doom's got left is Strange as far as friendships go.
Judging by his altered origin, I really don't even consider this Namor. He'll be some fish guy who happens to have wings on his legs.

Exactly. There's nothing "Namor" about him. So I don't want Doom anywhere near that. Besides, it's pretty much set that he'll be manipulating both Wetbacks and Spear Chuckers so both will hate his guts by the end of the flick. Let Doom pal around with Strange and adapt Triumph & Torment.

If MCU writers were smart, they'd establish the Cabal and create a contrast with the Avengers so they don't need a singular enemy each time, as is the usual model for these movies.
They could bring back Dafoe, find a new Emma Frost or bring the old one back, bring in an alt. dimension Loki, etc. They already have most of the pieces for the puzzle.
But they're just taking their own creative liberties at this point. Namor sounds like a completely different character.

These fricks can't even do a proper Illuminati, they'll never do the Cabal. Dark Reign's not happening because there's no buildup. Even T-Bolts will just be discount SKWAD. The MCU is already in freefall and they're doubling down. The X-Men and Doom will buy them some time, but by the 30s it'll be over.

>They could bring back Dafoe
Hell no, bring back Jeff Bridges Iron Monger could be the villain the MCU needs at this point
They have to go the villain route with him first, before any prospect of such a team up. And they have to do it right too, no pussying out.
Namor already looks like he'll be a softie compared to the comics but Doom needs to be done properly at least.
anyone expecting good things is a deluded moron at best Doom will be either >a cukk, weak and obeying a strong wymin villaness that he would give the world to and will order him around every movie (most plausible option) >a wymin under the mask >racebended
>best part >on a cringe comic that was so gentrified that they censored she hulk legs so some fat femcel on twitter wouldnt lactate blood in anger
Stop posting trash
moronic femcels arent allowed here
>actually Mexican
Hahah, you almost got me. I know this is a lie because if he were Mexican they would have added him to the movies or something instead of racebending other characters over the lack of "diverse" heroes in the comics.
>lack of "diverse" heroes in the comics
That's the big lie, the comics have a plethora of diverse characters, but they will never ever use them because this isn't about bringing them to the movies, is about stealing stablished characters and make the fandom and the comic readers seethe because they're mostly white men.
I hate how they make Thor job to everyone to show how powerful they are in the avengers comics and others, but in his comics he's so powerful that he's in space killing universe eating super beings.
That's pretty much every comic ever though. There's no reason someone such as the Surfer should lose any fights, but he does. Doom could've offed the FF ages ago simply by using some magic that Reed's autistic ass couldn't counter and been done with it. There's virtually no way Kang could ever lose but he gets beaten up by Captain Murica. It's the nature of capeshit.
Isn't it funny how on the marvel universe, the coons the wetbacks and the chinks all get their own mystical ethno states, but Asgard is "multicultural"
>I don't get it. Will Atlantis even be underwater?
So Atlantis in this is basically South American Wakanda: >Colonisers kept out of it. >Gets hit by vibranium meteor, same as Wakanda. >Goes into the ocean. >Powers from their God. >Needs Wakanda's vibranium for reasons.
So basically this will be ANOTHER forced conflict where they will agree to disagree at the end, kinda. >Well we both come from oppressed groups but have advanced civilizations and Atlantis needs to come out the shadows too.
I'll always prefer Aquaman over Namor due to personal preference and lore. Namor is only really known for: >Defenders/WWII >Fricking Sue Storm-Richards >Being an smug butthole
Which is more or less what Rick & Morty did with that cringe Mister Nimbus shit. At least the South American Empire aesthetic is cool I suppose
Generic? Aquaman has tons of lore. The hell are you even talking about? Namor has been a literal who for decades, and only relevancy in comics is just showing up at diplomacy parties to be a dick. That's about it. Doom does the villain ruler thing better too
>Namor is only really known for:
Frick all. When Aquaman became popular people tried to make fun of Namor instead but it didn't take because nobody cares about him
>give him the Hermes wings even though he's not Greek anymore
What's even the point?
He's also not mutant
He's black panther but Mexican, he gets his powers from an amulet given by his god (BP is from a plant given by his god)
Disney is cancer
Was namor always Mexican in the comics then? I remember watching the old cartoon, he was pretty pale on that one.
What part of "also" didn't you get? The also is an addition to removing his Atlantean origin you mentioned
>Was namor always Mexican in the comics then?
Namor was created in the 30's and was based on the actor Johnny Weissmuller, but what bothers me the most is that not even Namor's Vegeta hairstyle was kept by the MCU, how is it possible to make a live action film and leave behind the things that most define the character?
>he gets his powers from an amulet given by his god

He looks like a power bottom.
>make Atlantis into Aztec Empire 2.0
Cowards are afraid of Aquaman
Jesus this has to be the worst MCU design by far
Its blasts hips and nips and displays his gorgeous gams.
Its perfect for capeshitters
Nothing is worse than that
Namorita's casting is worse. She's supposed to be a contrast to Namor in appearance and demeanor and they cast some frumpy looking weird b***h. Although I agree that the unisex suits they put these actresses in are very lame.
I wish I had a naive bimbo cousin who would love me no matter what.
It's not a bone, it's a jade bead/column. Again, that's one of the few accurate parts.

cont:

Of course Namor stays somewhat true to the comics costume but all the women in the MCU are covered head to toe.
They chose a womanlet fricking skeleton to play Namora
Is it too much for these Disney trannies to just make us happy just once?
The women in your pic can’t act
acting is so easy it's criminal
homosexual
Neither can the ones in Marvel movies. If being able to act was a requirement there would be basically no females in film.
>The women in your pic can’t act
I guarentee the Hispanic b***h they get off the street can't act either
theyd act better than the femcel bait you shill in your movies, landwhale c**t
breasts or gtfo
they make the movies to insecure homosexual twitter femcels and evangelic soccer mom karens and think they will strongarm all the men into being little pussies like they are
Kill frick marry
you know that it is
this role needed a mature woman with a naturally athletic body of work, if they wanted a latina why didn't they go for jennifer lopez?
Her costume just leaked
now I remembered that in these 10-12 years of mcu they never had a light-eyed blonde with ass and breasts, never had
habibi I don't want to get an erection in the movie theatre I might have a sexual emergency habibi it can't be contained allahu akbar
If the actor gets this buff and is actually shirtless for the movie, i wouldn't mind, that's the essence of Namor.
Will you jack off in the theatre?
>mexican namor with facial hair
I hate Disney for fricking up marvel so much
Namor went from Spock to Spic
MISCAST

Miscasteado
I understand them wanting to distance him from the whole Atlantis thing, given that Aquaman beat him to the theaters, but did they have to make him look like a moronic cholo with a nose ring?
Yes. Yes they did. Because all they’re doing now is circling the drain with horrid reimaginings straight out of a clueless executive board meeting.
Terrible
Talk about a downgrade.
Nu Marvel is not canon
>MUH AZTEC HERITAGE
What the frick is this Hollywood bullshit "diversity"? Seems fake and superficial as frick.
What about the Mayan culture?
Mayans were basically extinct by the time the Spanish arrived. They are an OLD culture where I'm sure much of the Aztec knowledge came from.
>OLD culture
They rose around 300 BC and were done by 500 AD. When the Egyptians were around since 8K BC and the Minoans since 3K, you can in no way call them an "old culture".
old culture for the americas, doofus. we don't have any information past 300 BC. extant records are a rarity in the ancient world - even to a world-wide extent. we have nothing on the phoenicians, or the early slavs, or etc.
The united Mayan empire was long dead, but the Yucatan peninsula was still full of Mayan city-states and kingdoms. There are still millions of native Maya speakers today.
I got the biggest boner, so they know what they're doing.
Greek mythos bros btfo
It's okay anon, Inhumans are the real Atlanteans. Their city is named Attilan, and most have GrecRoman names. Balackagar's already cast as an UberChad white man, so all we need is an 11/10 redhead for Medusa.
Did they stop trying to push the comics now that they own X-men movies again? There's some good stories for the Inhumans, but they're best when they're sort of like faerie court myths, existing almost entirely outside the mortal realm. I guess that slot is already filled with Eternals in the movies now though.
I don't care for him being a Hispanic, but man that facial hair looks like shit.
That's from the ultimate comics.
The bone through the nose seems a bit much.
Kind of disrespectful to Aztec culture if you ask me. Wakanda is also almost a parody of black culture.
i dont really care if they change inhuman origin in the mcu but namor holyfrick this the dumbest thing disney ever do i mean hes your first marvel superhero have some respect atleast with his legacy
“redhead” you say? Negress incoming.
>Vacagar
>spics get handed down myths starring a pejeet-looking manlet who can't stop REEEing that he's shitbrown
>GreekChads get Russell Crowe and his harem
Yeah, I'm thinking they're okay.
i think marvel changing him from atlantean to aztec because if not normies going to think hes just aquaman ripoff
Despite him predating Aquaman for almost a decade
yeah thats my point, these days people know aquaman more because arthur still have his own comic run meanwhile namor basically just fantastic four side character and occasionaly avengers villain in the comic
They ruined shang shi by only casting hideous actors that were so fricking ugly the chinese got offended
thats not what they talked about, but about casting hideous ugly monster people because they think everybody looks the same and want burkas everywhere to babyfy and pussify everything
Gaymor
DAMN NAMOR LOOKS LIKE THAT
Namor? more like Mamon
No thanks.
Namor peaked when he was treated like a cryptid. They should go back to that depiction.
I don't see the MCU going the horror route again unless they get Raimi to do it.
They'll probably turn him into Aquaman 2.0. even though he's the same butthole who sunk the Titanic.
incredibly kino series
Yeah I liked it. You could make a tv show similar to The Terror except the setting is in a submarine and Namor is the Tuunbaq equivalent. It doesn't even need to be R-rated, most of the implied violence can be done off-screen.
But the MCU isn't that ballsy.
>windows on a submarine
Polish navy expats
Some have had windows but they're usually situated towards the top of the vessel.
This comic takes place in the 50s so I'm not sure which model it's based on.
Name of thid run?
Sauce? I want to read this, looks cool.
The haircut and the eyebrows is totally out of character
Namor is just a gay ripoff of Aquaman.
he predates aquaman
their only similarity is being half-human half-atlantean hybrids
The MCU's version probably will be. They'll try to capitalize on that movie's success and do their own version.
You mean the opposite, right? because Namor was the first one
Their creation was close, but the fundamental difference is that Namor is a reluctant villain and Aquaman is a reluctant hero.
Funnily enough, Namor's ability to fly predates that of Superman, who was still unable to do it at the time.
Take him out of the water, and Namor is a hell of a lot closer to being Black Adam in all forms of characterization.
Pretty much yeah. They even have the pointy ear/widow's peak gimmick from back in the day when villains were drawn with such features.
And Namor also predates Adam
He was marble's first character along with the original human torch
I often wonder what 80 year old boomers who read the original comics think about the modern movies
disappointment like the rest of us
They all have dementia so they don't care
Dementia doesn't entirely prevent disappointment, it just makes it much more of a transient sensation
Most 50+ years old comic book creators and fans don't pay the movies any attention. Not even to shit on them.
they think they suck because the producers hold the hands of the directors who always ask for more wokeness and it gets worse when they get woke directors like taika and gunn
I'll toss the MCU a bone and say they win a point for no pussying out on namor's elf ears.
Unlike another certain character.
But they also seem to be taking a page from Adam's book and doing the Aztec thing, similarly to Adam's Egyptian thing.
I'm not convinced disney execs don't think they're the same character.
>remember that shazam villain with the egyptian underwater motif?
pretty sure namor's an x-gene mutant
He's marvel's first mutant and they're throwing that entire storyline away because they haven't even introduced the x-m, err, people, yet.
We wuz Aztec Kayng now. A God gave him his powers.
T b h the little wings were always e weird 40s gimmick but considering there's far more bizarre features in muties, the amulet thing sounds moronic.
the wings are important, I just wish it wasn't some weird mayan magic behind it
they're literally ripping off black panther and their own movies now lmao
He would hate being lumped with the muties anyway. MCU Namor really has nothing to be angry about in general. He'll be a happy go lucky guy who lets Reed cuck him for a change.
good point.. anon
and at least it's not going to be the rock..
>ocean Hitler is Mexican now
Cartel bros...
"Whitexicans" are his "jews"
>>he hates white people
Perfect for Namor then
He doesn't discriminate at least. All surface dwellers are bad.
But the prospect of him sinking half of Wakanda is tempting me to give it a chance if only for hilarity.
>He always type some anti white stuff.
Are you unable to screencap and share? Before it gets scrubbed?
hot
>Aye! Namor! We're late for your nieces's quinceanera!
This is ridiculously gay at this point because I'm certain Namora and every other woman will be covered head to toe
Mestizo mexicans really hate this injun because he never shuts up about racism
I don't mind the aztec aesthetic, but the bone in the nose is a little much
10 to 1 it's some kind of alien-santeria-magic surface breathing device.
>No widow's peak, cholo, Stark facial hair, gay nose ring
This looks nothing like Namor
It's funny because Blade is going to be muslim and gay, and have a daughter named Edge. Is all about hating the old fandom: white men
Yeah, I forgot Blade was white
No, but his fandom was overwhelmingly white men, those are who buy the comics
Blade isn't white but he's white-coded, like Spawn.
Black people don't care about gothic characters, vampires, and all that jazz.
Black here I fricking love it' underworld is still one of fav action movie all time.
I'm a fricking nerd though so I don't count
Cinemaphile blacks are white-coded so you don't count lol
>I fricking love it
Then you don't count, like those who didn't vote for Biden, they don't count as black. You're only black if you buy into the narrative
>every single atlantean is now mexican
Sopa de frijoles, nice
Namor Libre
Mucha lucha aquatica
so who will feige cast as his cousin?
Leslie Jones
Yalitzia aparicio, look it up
No fricking way
God I hate Hollywood with all my soul
the comic is sexy. namor looks cool and isn't a speedo guy and namora is sexy and shows skin
YOU KNOW WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO
>every actress turned into androgynus grey paste
>the young hip girl idea of a "rebellious outfit" is a out of shape cringe manly suit that looks like a moronic person playing dress up
>they are so gimped and deluded they still force them to do failed cool manly "poses"
They are so desperate to b***hfy all culture, everything is the wet dream of an insecure soccer mom
Captain Carter was so odd to me, It's like they deepfaked Hayley's face in some man body, I don't know...
Pic related. It was "leaked" the same time as Cholomor.
That's a pretty underwhelming choice. I wouldn't mind a latina if she was hot at least.
Why not find some Alba lookalike at least?
these roles will shift to include people who are progressively more ordinary than the previous iterations, and in the end, you won't be able to tell they're supposed to be superheroes at all
They're not casting "Latinos" as that'd include white-looking and Med ones. They're casting the most Amerindian looking fricks they can find because they've culturally appropriated Atlantis and are turning it into Hispanic Wakanda.
>movie opens with Spiclanteans fighting the Conquistadors
>200 Spaniards took on an entire continent and a literal race of super powered hispanics and won
It's honestly funny at this point.
>Namor is an ancient Aztec being who fought against the conquistadors and (presumably) hates the Spaniards
>speaks Spanish
BAHAHAHAHA do these people even think about this shit for 2 seconds before putting pen to paper
They'll be speaking some madeup MayanHispanic language. The Conquistadors will be speaking Spanish.
i'm not a fan of the casting, but part of namor's thing is to hate humans despite being half human himself. it's not that radically different from a self hating mestizo hating spanish despite speaking it
The casting is the smallest issue t b h. They're apparently changing his origin as well
Latveria could be Spain, Aitor el Otaku could play Dr Doom maybe.
literally who?
It has to be someone with Arnold Scharzenegger's accent
You know why and if they find a hot latinx, you know what they will do
>Latinx
frick off.
>Oh, so that's his mother
Namora is his cousin as well. Pic related is his mother.
jesus what a shitty fricking cape
It's not his mother. Namora is his cousin. Namorita is her daughter.
moronic writers couldn't come up with better names so people get them confused all the time.
So she's STILL miscast. As for Namor's mother, she'll probably also be miscast if they decide to show her anyway.
I think there were some retcons where the two characters basically merged or something.
Nita is the bubbly whimsical one. Namora is the stern mommy. Both look nothing like the actress they chose but I digress. Atlanteans might not even be blue at all.
I need to colonize an atlantean gf
his dad is so lucky
some trannie
Wetbacks, we're back!
LatinX not progressive enough anymore, now they're doing straight up Aztec-face
>guise he lives under the sea so he must not be white
Why do they do this with every live action character he isn't from new York.
Unda da sea
People colored be
White is not bettah
When it's all wettah
We're POC!
>bone through your nose is not racist when liberals do it
I’ve never cared for Namor. He’s like an even gayer aquaman. So what if he’s miscast? They cast that drunk Affleck to pay pre-JL Batman and everyone ate that up on release because “le reddkit knight returns reference”. People made fun of that shit when it was announced too. I’m over it.
I always thought Namor looked Asian.
asianface is just a common symptom in comix
A hawkish light skinned Asian would've been pretty on point to how he's been drawn most of the time.
atlanteans have weird curved eyebrows that always give them away
there was actually an arc where he had to put a disguise on so people wouldn't notice something was off about his face
iirc, his eyes become black underwater but are generally blue or green
the black eye thing is a pretty recent depiction, they only stared doing it after that horror comic
his eyes have always been light, but they're also hard to see in general
brandon lee would've been a good choice back in the day because he was half asian
>you now remember those fan castings wizard magazine did in the 90s
Hispanic here, dude, drop the fricking 'stache, looks like an average chilango from tepito.
IIRC, he was born in Mexico but isn't actually a native, based on some old interview I watched with him. Can't remember what ethnicity he said he was though.
El mexicano más macho
Unreal. Non-whites almost universally can't swim and most non-white societies never even built boats until white people brought boats to them.
>Non-whites almost universally can't swim
It's fricking hilarious how elementary grade tier stereotypes and myths are real in America
sea faring Greeks and Phoenicians were white?
Respectable Greeks were white yes.
brown phoenicians were running major trade networks throughout the aegean while anglos and germans were wandering ass naked in the wilderness
agua por favor
Saludos a monterrey
I thought Namor was a chink
He's a hybrid. Purebreed Atlanteas are blue skinned and can't even survive on land.
Nah, he's a sappy Jappy.
Golden Age comics really were something
Yes.
So they're taking Marvel's first mutant and depriving him of his title, natural powers, and everything that makes him unique. Bill Everett must be spinning in his grave.
*forces Marvel into doing a nonsensical minority representation of Namor*
Momoa looks cool at least. This guy is like some electrician got picked off the Tijuana streets to be in a Marvel movie.
>*forces Marvel into doing a nonsensical minority representation of Namor*
Pretty much
Luckily I hate Black Panther/Wakanda, so if they're going to POC the frick outta the Submariners, I'm glad their doing it in a film I already plan on not watching
>forces
Anon where have you been? DC is loved by ethnics. Seriously, every DC Fandome seems to mostly be Indians and it is the same when it comes to Snyderfans.
>Batgirl is black
>Superwoman is hispanic.
>Black Canary.
>Cyclone is black.
DC is leaning into minorities far more than marvel.
>I see your Pacific Islander Atlantean and I rise a Mexican Atlantean
I hope future generations laugh at our sheer stupidity and pandering
I don't care that he's mexican since he's only half-human anyway, but they could've picked someone who looks the part.
The Namorita casting is even worse.
why is everything so gay?
it's only gay if you get turned on
typical gay snark
Lord help you if the Hindis cone up.
Shit on the streets?

It's all so tiresome

How the frick does this make any sense? Even for wokies, this is a new standard of moronic.

If you read/watch capeshit, you need to have a nice day.
I only do it ironically nowadays
Am I having a stroke reading this?
it's real
all of it
The worst part of it is the art. Learning how to draw proper anatomy is too difficult for these people.
I wouldn't mind the improper anatomy if it had some artistic appeal or distinction. But they can't even do that nowadays.
Unironically how does capeshit comics stay in business? They were struggling 10 years ago when I jumped off.
Were they watching Ricardo memes as inspiration for this poster? This looks like a promo for a male strip club.
Sue bros.. did we get too wienery?
reed's cuckening is the only thing I'm looking forward to in the mcu
after that I'm officially done
I won't be surprised if sue fall in love with namora
>Tenoch "homosexual" huerta
And now I will not see this shit.
Namor should be a chadly looking butthole who toys with the Avengers and cucks Reed Richards.
This dude looks pedestrian asf.
this pic leaves out the best part
and yeah it would be a lot of fun to see namor pissing off the *venger babbys
I fully expect mcu namor to bend the knee as soon as he tells black panther "we're not so different you and I"
>I fully expect mcu namor to bend the knee as soon as he tells black panther "we're not so different you and I"
It's pretty much confirmed. The supposed leaked plots goes like this
>genius Iron Negress finds some Vibranium
>it's in Cholomor's waters which borders the Wakandan mines )how that works is beyond me)
>Spicland and Nigland come to blows as everyone wants the Iron Negress speshul vibranium
>it's all revealed to be a ploy by the evil whitey Doom who planned this from the getgo and appears in the post-credits scene
Well, at least they're bringing in Doom finally. I hope that they don't frick up the casting completely, but my expectations will be realistic.
Namor and Doom are on friendly terms more often than not, so it will be a bit lame to have them fight immediately.
If they're clever they'll establish them as allies first, and then have them turn on each other when they do secret wars.
He is. Robbie Reyes.
>bringing in Doom finally
Kang is black, the High Evolutionary is black, Namor is Mexican...what makes you believe Doom won't be another bypoc disgrace?
He's le bad
Sony will do a sinister six movie and beat them to the punch.
Kang will be treated like the new Thanos and Doom will probably appear in one more movie before he's defeated.
Isn't Doom being played by Howard fricking Stern?
He said "I'm going to do Dr Doom", not "be Dr Doom".
No one would cast that guy as Doom. Although it would be hilarious to see.
>Doom spends all his resources on deleting old recordings of the version of Latveria he doesn't want people to remember
Could be kino
You're such a gullible idiot.
anyone expecting good things is a deluded moron at best Doom will be either
>a cukk, weak and obeying a strong wymin villaness that he would give the world to and will order him around every movie (most plausible option)
>a wymin under the mask
>racebended
>best part
>on a cringe comic that was so gentrified that they censored she hulk legs so some fat femcel on twitter wouldnt lactate blood in anger
Stop posting trash
moronic femcels arent allowed here
Is that a Ghost Rider in a car somehow...running over Namor? Ok, this is amazing and I don't even read comics
That Ghost Rider happens to be actually Mexican too.
>actually Mexican
Hahah, you almost got me. I know this is a lie because if he were Mexican they would have added him to the movies or something instead of racebending other characters over the lack of "diverse" heroes in the comics.
No, they just already burned him in Agents of Shit. Shame too, he was actually pretty good.
>if he were Mexican they would have added him to the movies or something
or something
https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Ghost_Rider
>lack of "diverse" heroes in the comics
That's the big lie, the comics have a plethora of diverse characters, but they will never ever use them because this isn't about bringing them to the movies, is about stealing stablished characters and make the fandom and the comic readers seethe because they're mostly white men.
Posting Nu Marvel garbage
I hate how they make Thor job to everyone to show how powerful they are in the avengers comics and others, but in his comics he's so powerful that he's in space killing universe eating super beings.
That's pretty much every comic ever though. There's no reason someone such as the Surfer should lose any fights, but he does. Doom could've offed the FF ages ago simply by using some magic that Reed's autistic ass couldn't counter and been done with it. There's virtually no way Kang could ever lose but he gets beaten up by Captain Murica. It's the nature of capeshit.
namor? more like ramon
Looks kinda like that guy from jibaro
>a wetback that crosses borders illegally
Jesus
Ñamor
Isn't it funny how on the marvel universe, the coons the wetbacks and the chinks all get their own mystical ethno states, but Asgard is "multicultural"
Eh, we already know who Marvel's most badass King is and he's been well cast.
Yeah, all 4 seconds of him, never to appear again.
I don't get it. Will Atlantis even be underwater?
Yes. But it still has a yellow filter.
>I don't get it. Will Atlantis even be underwater?
So Atlantis in this is basically South American Wakanda:
>Colonisers kept out of it.
NOSOTROS
Namor? more like No Homo
underrated
It is a spectacularly gay outfit.
Namorita will be wearing a full body, plastic armor.
zlatan ibrahimovic?
Ibra would unironically play a good Namor
Namor? more like Maricón
>Roman
WOAH its like pottery Bravo Vince!
I'll always prefer Aquaman over Namor due to personal preference and lore. Namor is only really known for:
>Defenders/WWII
>Fricking Sue Storm-Richards
>Being an smug butthole
Which is more or less what Rick & Morty did with that cringe Mister Nimbus shit. At least the South American Empire aesthetic is cool I suppose
At least he has lore and a character. Aquaman is as generic as they come.
Generic? Aquaman has tons of lore. The hell are you even talking about? Namor has been a literal who for decades, and only relevancy in comics is just showing up at diplomacy parties to be a dick. That's about it. Doom does the villain ruler thing better too
>Namor is only really known for:
Frick all. When Aquaman became popular people tried to make fun of Namor instead but it didn't take because nobody cares about him
lol fricking bone through this nose ooga booga looking mother fricker
