The casting is completely moronic, the Fremen look nothing like they should, the sets and props are some literall Willy Wonka shit and the acting is so fricking bad it's laughable. The costumes look like a German carnival parade. A high school theather club tier joke.
Lynch's Dune is very far from a perfect film but I don't understand why everyone hates this bit. I think it's a very interesting way of depicting the shields and adds a little bit more visual flare to the film.
But this is a cool original concept that just adds to the spectacle without really deviating much from the source material, and now that I think about it was a "fast" way to replace the whole Paul going around the entire world teaching everyone the Weirding Way, that by the way Dunc skips entirely. So what's wrong with it?
