Because of stipulations in their contracts, members won't work with non SAG-AFTRA actors. So if you get one as your first choice, you basically have to pick from the rest to complete your cast. And because there's a clear pecking order, you get the same names suggested to you depending on how big the game will be. On the flipside, if your first choice actor for a character is not SAG-AFTRA, you lose access to all of them and have to go hunting around in the other pool of non-union actors.

And she's basically the only one who will show up, or if there are more, she's the one with the ability to nail the audition.
As time passes, this will change as the pool grows as the younger actresses who don't look down on a video game job get in the right age bracket. But for now, this only changes if a couple of other talented and easy to work with actresses her age step up.
She's affordable, available, and fills a niche role.

She's a mom who had enough with the shit hand the world had dealt her and wanted to make the world a better place.
I don't actually mind Debra Wilson, I don't mind her being in everything, I don't even mind her appearance, but I feel something has gone awry when she's so visibly recognizable in so many roles in a medium where you can make characters look however you want. Like, are they measuring progress in graphics and character modeling by how faithfully they can represent her without making her look like a bug-eyed puppet?
