Is it just me or this Superman is really weak in comparison to the usual Man of Steel that we're used to see? He actually got his air out because of this small time. It makes things way more interesting, honestly, but I wonder what made them go with that.

Me personally I prefer seeing superman being super strong but not "hold-a-black-hole in his hand" strong, like what people 100 years ago thought the strongest being could be

I agree, it's cooler that way.

it's about building tension - if Superman is going to curbstomp everyone from the outset, there's no tension and thus no reason to care about the fights

if you're gonna have Superman fight supervillains, either he has to be weakened to match them or they have to be boosted to match him

Right, but it feels particularly intentional. Like, in Superman movies and series some things happen that in hindsight shouldn't actually do shit to Superman but they do so that it builds tension, but in this case, it seems like him being like this is consistent, since every time he faces someone since episode one, he does shake a bit and gets hurt from almost the same things.

I think he’s still developing his powers. My bet is that they’re tied to the ship and his dad built in a limiter to let him grow into them.

I thought the same at first, not the ship thing, but the developing powers thing, now that you mention the ship, it makes sense.

They went with it because it makes things more interesting, Anon.

        You got me there.

In most fights he still suffers from the same issues he does in the comics, rarely uses superspeed effectively in combat because unless his opponent also has super speed, it's completely one sided. There was a bit of that in the latest episode where he just effortlessly avoided Parasites attacks at the end and in the last episode he could have taken out Intergang almost instantly rather than fly around avoiding their attacks.

I like the idea of Clark holding back because he's scared of accidentally killing someone. But I also like the idea that the power depends on sun light and it slowly increases the longer he gets exposed to it as he lives on Earth.

      weird design tbh

This is the norm for a lot of Superman media tbf, having him just be unbeatable Jesus means there's no stakes

It's being very Anime with its Power Creep.

Though having him be the Classic Donner/One Punch could've worked too.

TAS Supes was getting bodied by a police helicopter during his early eps.

The villain designs are just so awful. They remind me of that 2017 Spider-Man cartoon.

I don’t mind that aspect at all. It opens up his threats more.

Superman's just starting out in this show. He's not even close to full power yet.

I thought the suit melting into his skin was animated in such a visually impactful way it suggests thats gonna be his final form from that point foward.
He kinda looks like that in the comics too.

    >Oh ho! How about we...
    >Give the villain a thing
    >They fight Superman
    >And then...
    >They become their actual look later!
    >All leading to Lex being build-up. Who will
    >Get this,
    >Be bald later! Boom build up baby!

I liked the design, but it should've been an actual alien and not another tech-based villain.
They should've used something else for this villain.
