Like you not being able to find a girlfriend and still being a virgin. Aren't you ashamed of yourself? You're parents are so disappointed that you turned out this way. They had big plans for you and look at you now. Pathetic
Why would anyone care about their parents plans for them? You are your own person who didn't ask to be born. You owe your parents nothing, they forced you to be here. The only person whose plans you should be upset about disappointing are your own.
power creep
one main character can copy any power he comes in to contact with, another is able to travel through time, and the villain can steal powers. every season after came down to "how do we nerf peter, hiro and sylar"
even if they'd been allowed to do the new characters each season thing they wanted to do, they'd gone too far with those three in s1 that every season after would be "why didn't peter or hiro just fix it?"
Kudos for actually answering my question for starters
Couldn't you argue that with better writing the power creep could have been handled more appropriately?
>with better writing
nta but that's basically what he's referring to by 'bigger problems' than the strike anyway
you could see the fundamental problem as early as the s1 finale
>Couldn't you argue that with better writing the power creep could have been handled more appropriately?
it's possible, but it would be difficult to do, it's something that should have been addressed when they were creating the characters imo.
peter needed either a limit or a downside, like he could only copy two or three powers at once, they fade away over time and it happens faster the more he uses them, etc. same for hiro, maybe his power gets more imprecise the further in time or space he jumps, it's fine for jumping about in the same day, but jumping back a year is off by a few days and couple hundred miles. with sylar they had the sense to wipe out everything but his telekinesis and copying, but he should have stayed dead.

They were all supposed to die in the original season 1 ending, and then start over with a new cast for season 2.
That review for season 1 says it all: >foreshadowed intrigue
The last 20 years of TV have been foreshadowed intrigue. Episode after episode of foreshadowing, season after season of intrigue and only 3 or 4 shows delivered on all of that, providing closure.
It wasn't the writer's strike that ruined shows, it was Lost. And we still haven't recovered.
In season 1 they can build up future events and shroud characters in mystery, so it's easy to get viewers excited. When they actually started revealing things, the revelations were underwhelming.
Why Abrams? I haven't seen Lost, but it seems like that's what would give him that reputation. As far as I know, Damon Lindelof was more responsible for the writing on Lost than Abrams, though. I don't know that Abrams is even good at setup.
>I don't know that Abrams is even good at setup.
Watch The Force Awakens again. A bunch of decent ideas to begin with that slowly fizzle out into a bunch of nothing. One example being perhaps the most intriguing, the black rogue Stormtrooper turned rebel by the sight of violence, becoming a cowardly comic relief jackass by mid way through.
Exactly like Lost and a bunch of other shows around the same era. The knew how to set up some cool arks with a load of mystery and intrigue but had no idea where they were going with it.
The actor who played Hiro on Heroes (Masi Oka) founded the game development studio that made acclaimed video game Outer Wilds, and he's credited as a producer on the game.
>Anyway - I've got a moral quandry about the show. Hayden Panettiere, born August 21, 1989, now 17 (legal in Texas, which is important, because her character is in Odessa, Texas) as the character, Claire Bennett. She's adorably cute, constantly in her cheerleader uniform. Ok - now never mind that she fulfills the underage cheerleading limber blond virginal demographic. That's pretty delicious. But they gave her the ability to regenerate and resuscitate from any and all injuries. This power has decided to manifest itself before she's lost her virginity. Which means - everytime she has sex, she's a virgin as her hymen will repair itself. Meaning that everytime she's fricked, its like she's being fricked for the very first time. OK - that's WAY WRONG. NOW - add to that - that she's at the age where cellular growth is complete. This is it. No wrinkles. No sagging breasts. If she has a kid and it pushes the hipbones out... they'll straighten back and she'll be fine. Of course - that's even if she could get pregnant. Would her eggs allow an invading sperm to fertilize? Is that possible? OR - is she simply doomed to enjoy threat free sex for life. Now - here's the scary part. She'll never know non-hymen blocked sex. Cuz even if it gets pushed through... on any withdrawal and cycle back in, the hymen will have grown back. SO... It's my theory that do to the constant discomfort of virginal sex with men, her character will prefer the kind attention of her fellow sex. MEANING - she'll be a hot, underage, cheerleading lesbian... for life. ALSO - she could have sex with ANYONE. Any disease - unprotected and be perfectly ok. The people behind this show are sick. Either that or they have singlehandedly created the most deviantly awesome fanboy sex object in the history of SUPERHERO FICTION. And she's from Texas. Claire... you rule!
Writer's strike tbh
There were bigger problems than that.
Like what?

Okay so you don't actually know what you're talking about, thanks for clearing that up for me
Why would anyone care about their parents plans for them? You are your own person who didn't ask to be born. You owe your parents nothing, they forced you to be here. The only person whose plans you should be upset about disappointing are your own.
My dad posts here. If you read this dad swallow my cum.

The Writers Strike
Too much powers

Lost is still the best show ever made, it did ruin everything that came after it because nothing holds up in comparison.
In season 1 they can build up future events and shroud characters in mystery, so it's easy to get viewers excited. When they actually started revealing things, the revelations were underwhelming.
The Abrams approach to writing. Setup is easy. Payoff is hard.

the most intriguing character* i meant to say
Star Wars. Abrams is a huge fan of "mystery boxes." He did a fricking Ted Talk on them.
Exactly like Lost and a bunch of other shows around the same era. The knew how to set up some cool arks with a load of mystery and intrigue but had no idea where they were going with it.
The fans fault.
When that lil homie went YATTA and save the cheerleader save the world

I hate Outer Wilds but Hiro is kino.
Damn bro bad taste
No, it's just not a game.
How is it not a game? Come on now.
Never realized this. Fricking based. Might be one of the best games ever made and I’m not exaggerating
novelty wore off, writers strike happened, and pandering.

Bad writing obviously. Season 1 had everything really come together for the finale. All the plots came together in something satisfying.
The other seasons just never came together.
