well i only watched the 2011 stuff once through, I'm currently binging the whole show from the start (which is kinda slow because there's only so many music videos i can take yknow) and i'm interested to get back to that season again and do a fair comparison.

I feel the same way as well.
It's cool when it's a band or artist you recognize, but I think the commentary parts got better with each revival as they did more than just music videos. Probably because entertainment has somehow become even worse and moreso worth making fun of.

im not a big fan of mst3k, and the music video segments always felt like a lesser version of that. I understand why beavis and butthead exist and why they do the music video segments but is mtv even exist anymore? maybe im autistic but i hate listening to music i dont like, im extremely particular, and clean sitcom style writing isnt enough to keep my attention anymore. im not saying beavis and butthead need to be r rated and say slurs, but the music video segments suck and take away from their silly hijinks. The movies prove this.
The revival is better than the 90s and 2011s one by far, I prefer the cool Tiktok stuff over shitty boomer music. (Though I’ve only watched two eps of the 90s one. It sucks, most people seem to agree. I don’t watch stuff made before my time. I’m 18) I also like how Beavis is so cute and sweet, I would love to see Butt-head written off.
Butt-Head needs to lay off Beavis. I mean he's a terrible influence with no purpose in life (the Christmas episode showed this) but he used to be more subtle with just a smack once in a while instead of overt abuse. They're supposed to be evenly matched.
He needs to be written off of the show completely so Beavis can flourish as a character. Maybe kill him off somehow…Beavis needs his own show where he’s trying to be his own person, maybe one with a bit of lore and a little less on the humor side. them being evenly matched is dumb, Beavis wouldn’t hurt anyone unless they provoked him. Butthead needs to go, you can read YT comment sections of clips of the show and see I’m not the only one who feels he needs to be written off.

People who echo this sentiment don't understand that their relationship and butting-heads is what makes the show funny in the first place. Neither one is entirely evil but neither is entirely a saint too.

He's a lazy, self-serving, impolite and rude moron who does a lot of things primarily for himself. Not the worst person in the world, but the point is that if him and his buddy were upstanding good citizens, there wouldn't really be much of a show.
Butt-Head needs to lay off Beavis. I mean he's a terrible influence with no purpose in life (the Christmas episode showed this) but he used to be more subtle with just a smack once in a while instead of overt abuse. They're supposed to be evenly matched.
