You forgot the big spiky ship had a captain that was pissed at one of the classic characters and wanted to make him suffer by blowing up his home planet?

Yes. I like Bana too so there must be something uncommonly forgettable about this character.

      Beyond, no question.

The first is nice for long time fans, all the callbacks to TOS and such. Into Darkness is a bit more forgiving to newer watchers, with Khan being the only real callback. Beyond could be watched by anyone with no previous knowledge. So I guess it just depends on how much of a fan you are of older Trek

2009 is fun in a shallow JJ movie kind of way, Beyond probably feels the most like Star Trek, Into darkness is just bad.

The conspiracy part of Into Darkness was great

Darkness is ten times better if you just ignore all the Wrath of Khan callbacks. It was a solid experience outside of the cringe ending with the magic blood.

Into Darkness is the only decent one.
'09 is fanservice wank with a barebones story. The only real goal of the movie is to establish the original crew as played by the new actors. It's a rushed, sloppy origin story and a bunch of meme references to the original + Leonard Nimoy returns as "Spock from another timeline" to force some connection to the original. It's not very good.
Beyond is really terrible, I don't understand other anons praising it. It's like a Syfy channel original. The movie was rushed into production for Star Trek's 50th anniversary or something like that, so the script is really undercooked. The directing is also spastic.
Into Darkness is alright. The script is messy, but I find the movie enjoyable enough to rewatch every now and then. The villain is the most memorable out of the three, the plot is the most twisty and interesting, even if it's a bit confusing if you start to think about it too much, and it's got the best drama of the three, even if it's rehashing an 80's movie.

This might be a controversial thing to write, but as slight trek fan I think it has the most interesting scenes from a sci-fi perspective. The opening sequence is this really goofy action packed scene, with a ton of different things going on, but it manages to pretty succinctly get across the Trek idea of the Prime Directive and how dangerous it can be to expose primitive civilizations to advanced technology. It communicates this mostly nonverbally with a good visual gag. The villain also challenges some of Trek's core philosophies. Idk it ends up being the most philosophical of these three cheesy movies. It's the closest of the three to feeling like an actual movie.

Yeah I actually did like that Into Darkness kind of has... a soul? A brain? Like, there's a core message there, and an exploration about what Starfleet and the Federation actually are, what they should be and what they shouldn't. Kirk and the rest of the Enterprise are kind of fighting for the soul of Starfleet by the movie's end. It's the one Kelvin timeline movie that I think Roddenberry himself would like the most.

Into Darkness is completely trash, trying to "remake" arguably the most beloved OG Star Trek film was a ridiculous idea. It should have been about evil Robocop and corruption in Starfleet, not shoehorning Khan in there especially such a miscast.

The Kelvin timeline has the gaygiest fricking Enterprise of them all. It never wins a fight, it's always RUNNING AWAY, and it finally goes down like a b***h to space bugs. I hate it, it's the worst of all the Enterprises, even worse than the C.

The design of the ship has nothing to do with other people's bad writing. Kelvin Enterprise looks good (on the outside at least), it just loses for dumb plot reasons.
