>It's a reverse mortgage. >What is a reverse mortgage you ask? >Well imagine the American Dream of owning your own house >Now imagine the exact opposite of that
That's why it's considered a scam, because their profits are coming from the groups of "anyone else".
Granted you have to be an ignorant mongoloid to buy into it, but both sides of a shitty deal can be wrong.
No one considers it a scam unless you think you deserve that person money. You don’t understand this.
Reverse mortgages pay out the equity you have in the home. You can refi out of it but the intended loan is that the bank gets the house when you move or die and you get monthly payments from the equity in the home to live and not worry about shit. It’s not for everybody. Just because you personally don’t benefit doesn’t mean it’s a bad product.
Im pretty sure there are some pretty fricked up clauses that go with it though. Like if the property drops in value for any reason they can just seize the property.
Or people who aren’t leaving a penny to their kids. And also you have to have the home at least mostly paid for so a lot of people won’t have the opportunity.
HELOCS probably won’t be a thing in a few years either. Even Wells Fargo is ending their program.
>Or people who aren’t leaving a penny to their kids
If you're an American zoomer unless your parents are loaded I wouldn't expect to get any money at all. It also depends on how many living relatives you have.
lol, basically. It's for that "greatest generation" to finish completely obliterating their multi-generational wealth, just to frick over their grand kids, because they turned out gay, or didn't call them on their birthday, or just plain lazy, and "don't want to work anymore"
I'm a 35 year old incel (haven't had sex in almost a decade). I've got my one-bedroom apartment almost paid off and I've got at least 30 more years of mortgage-free wageslaving ahead of me. I suppose I could get a bigger nicer home in the future.
The bank gets a house that has appreciated in value. You get to spend money you already paid in to the home. It’s a win for people who don’t/can’t work anymore.
Yeah it’s like 5k average in closing costs plus however much you’re buying down the rate. Sucks but hopefully it’s nothing compared to how much equity you pulled out. Big home project?
>hey, you have this stack of cash You live in. >how about you sign over the rights to that sack of cash to me and I gave you a small percentage of the cash back Every month. It’s just like free money! >of course for this service I need to charge you interest, and fees, which increase the amount of your stack of cash that I own.
You don’t have 600,000 dollars. Your home is worth 600,000 dollars. You leverage the equity of the house you own against the banks interest in owning your home. They give you 600,000 dollars and when you die or decide to move, you refinance the home and sell or don’t care because you’re dead. It’s optional and know one is forcing you to do anything so don’t get so upset about optional products.

Yes, because she comes from a worthless and spoiled generation that opened the floodgates to everything wrong happening now. My grandparents spent 30 years paying off a mortgage. They own their home free and clear and have no real expenses except property taxes and insurance which is very little. I don’t understand why they would ever fall for this scam.

Almost 10% of Americans have no health insurance and there's going to be bundles that are under insured and not covered for certain ailments.
Uninsured over 65 is apparently a pool of at least 4.7 million people.

There's bound to be home owners among the bunch there and some will get sick.
>"Oh, no, you don't understand. It's not a scam at all..." I had this exact conversation with my grandpa a couple months before he passed away. Their house in Riverside CA is probably worth over a million dollars. I hope he didn't fall for it, because my aunt and cousins who also live out there in socal are having a rough time keeping up with the skyrocketing cost of living
I have some family friends who have a reverse mortgage. The man lost all of his money on the market in 2008. His kids are loaded and don't need their house, nor he won't accept their help. They're just going to giving it away.
I have never taken out a loan and I do not intend to. I have no credit cards. I have no mortgage, no car payments, no debt. I live modestly, simply... I am light as a feather.
The only loan I've ever taken is a short-term one for a small apartment and I hope to pay it off next year. I can't imagine taking 20-30 year ones, that seems like a nightmare. Or dumb shit like loans for a fricking car.

Part (or all) of the way they make money is you paying interest, if you pay it off early they get less interest.
Reminder youtube banned and removed THAT video
CALL AND CHECK YOUR ZIP CODE IT COULD BE

DYN O MITE
I'd love to shove a dynomite up this AIDS patient's wrinkled butthole
The old coots doing testimonials all look like they are reading statements at gunpoint. I-I GAVE THEM M-MY ZIP CODE-

I say man have you thought this whole reverse mortgage through?
what was higgins' fricking problem
they just needed a serious character to play opposite the goofy magnum character. although higgens was just as ridiculous in his own right
>they dmca'd the ytp
Fricking Black folk.
Did anyone reup it?
Ok
This sort of thing is why a certain group of people have been kicked out of many countries throughout history.
>it got deleted because it wasn't funny and one troony kept spamming it just like xhes doing itt
I’m a switch bottom and I have a reverse mortgage on my ass at the glory hole, I get to top 3 times a week, but in 5 years I will have to bottom 5 days a week.
^this sounds crazy until you realize that’s how heterosexual marriages actually work with topping being sex, and bottoming being alimony payments
>Someone in this thread is actually defending reverse mortgages
>You wanna pop the trunk and roll the windows down, Black person?
>Only a Black person could oppose reverse mortgages
Just like there's only a certain group could support them.
>Nice blog post, fricking homosexual
we all know Cinemaphile posters are a little wobbly. a little jumbo. and thankfully, won't be living much longer.
My grandparents spent 30 years paying off a mortgage. They own their home free and clear and have no real expenses except property taxes and insurance which is very little. I don’t understand why they would ever fall for this scam.
It's to prey on the desperate, like those who have a steady stream of medical bills and no insurance and need the money to live.
>steady stream of medical bills and no insurance
who are these mythical people? more like it prays on the greedy and finically illiterate.
>who are these mythical people?
Almost 10% of Americans have no health insurance and there's going to be bundles that are under insured and not covered for certain ailments.
that are old AND are homeowners?
give me a break.
Uninsured over 65 is apparently a pool of at least 4.7 million people.
https://cdn.pfizer.com/pfizercom/products/Profile_of_uninsured_persons_in_the_United_States.pdf
There's bound to be home owners among the bunch there and some will get sick.
>"Oh, no, you don't understand. It's not a scam at all..."
I had this exact conversation with my grandpa a couple months before he passed away.
Or dumb shit like loans for a fricking car.
smart! me neither.
being smart has nothing to do with it
if you can get a loan without putting up any collateral of your own you should. You can invest it yourself and probably make more than you owe per month. or ball the frick out and just never pay any of it back.
>be a famous actor with 40+ years of beloved work behind you back
>make commercials so that the banks can take away the homes of demented old people
Human greed knows no bounds.
Since we’re trading stories anyway
>great uncle is pretty well-off, has a nice house in Connecticut
>after his first wife passed away, he marries a Colombian woman who works as a secretary
>they’re happily married for many years, until he passes away
>a few years later, she gets cancer and is wasting away
>suddenly, a horde of her relatives show up in her final days, when she’s all doped up on pain medication
>everyone on our side of the family gives them the benefit of the doubt, but they spend a lot of time alone with her
>after she passes, we learn that her will was hastily amended giving the Colombians almost everything, even though the money and valuables were overwhelmingly my great uncle’s
>they leave the country immediately after she dies
>Giving brown people the benefit of the doubt
You and your family are fricking idiots
I was in middle school at the time, so I don’t know what I was supposed to do about it. My aunt was in charge of the proceedings and she’s definitely moronic, though.
They were married for a long time and genuinely in love. She watched over him diligently as he slipped into dementia and it was clear that it broke her heart. Her family turned out to be garbage, but she was a good person.
That's the price your uncle was willing to pay for having someone have sex with him in his old age.
Your home
it's where I want to be.
Big difference is
I
Get
Your home
A reverse mortgage pays NEGATIVE interest on the loan they're paying to you
holy frick I hate boomers so fricking much
they took the wealth and they are going to take it with them to the grave
its so evil that its based
Since I'll be dying alone and childless, I wonder if I should make a will to donate my stuff to a charity or something and frick over my nephews or not.
For me, I just don't want my leech of a bro to acquire all my shit since he'd be my closest living relative. I kinda like all my cousins tho
Give me
your home.
Give me
your soul.
Your house. Now. I’m through asking.
Why not just rent out the spare rooms for an income stream?
would you give him your home Cinemaphile?
it is not my home. it is robin master's estate and it is not mine to give away.
Why did this thread bring out reverse mortgage shills what the frick?
Take it Mr. Selleck. It belongs to you.
My grandma unironically eats this shit up.
>He's on my cop show and is so classy I should just give him my house. You don't trust Tom Selleck?
Imagine living through an era like young adults in the 50s and 60s did....
Tom is looking real old these days bros. Is he gonna die soon?
The black guy already died, Higgins died in like 2018, and Rick is probably dead already or will soon 🙁
Tom Selleck will never die as long as you give him your home.
