it came out from CBS' short-lived in house film studio and was distributed by Lionsgate, who didn't know how to advertise it without giving the entire plot away
Ben Foster's character sacrificed himself so that his nephews would have a future. One of the most altruistic characters ever seen in cinema. The Beach was about dumb lost spoiled rich kids playing pretend castaways on a deserted island.
Really great acting, the story is by the numbers bank robbery stuff highly elevated by Foster and Pine, especially Foster who is the king of underrated actors.
There seemed like a lot more backstory to his perceived cucking. They could have written in a story of Toby being repeatedly unfaithful to her or something that would have resulted in her b***hy unappreciative attitude, but they didn't.
I remember when I watched the opening scene and "Dollar Bill Blues" blasted I knew it's going to be kino. But what anons said, it was an anomaly, that such a movie was even made, not mentioning obviously a decent budget.
Also no Black person gibberish in the soundtrack.
>watched this movie >watched it again with my brother >watched it again with my dad >watched it again on my own
Haven't come across a movie in like a decade that's worth rewatches like this one is
It’s mid, sorry. I expected to love it but it’s just kind of an uninspired No Country/Sicario pastiche. Characters are boring, there’s no particularly memorable scenes. It’s definitely competent but not much more than that.
Because its almost too good and certainly to male
Good thread anon i love this movie
It's on par with No Country For Old Men and it's actually a better story.
>and certainly too male
I think this is the answer. How did our society ever get so soft and feminine?
It's an alright small movie.
it came out from CBS' short-lived in house film studio and was distributed by Lionsgate, who didn't know how to advertise it without giving the entire plot away
Because I would rather watch The Beach (2000)

tbf his life was headed nowhere good and he was going to die soon anyway the way he lived. So it's not really a sacrifice.
Are you trying to make me mad? I said Dr. Pepper, this is Mr. Pibb.
>ahhhhhh this is not my brand of fizzy prune juice.
A desert is still only half a beach so therefore The Beach (2000) is a better movie
>tfw ywn be lord of the plains
An altruistic copkiller. How quaint.
Are cops even human? New scientific discovery indicates no
you could just say murderer, homo
>Ja ću voziti mnogo milja biciklom.
The scene when DiCaprio talks Croatian was kino.
Gonna watch it tonight anon
"Well I'll tell you one thing... no one's gonna rob this somabitch"
the old sassy waitress reminds me of so many old Texas grandmas.
>Some butthole from Cinemaphile posted a Chuck thread in 1982. We don't post no God damn Chuck threads.
comfy kino
This movie had so many memorable quotes. Whoever wrote this film did a great job.
Boy, You'd think there were ten of me.
>Yeah, well, I'm gonna get to that when I'm through with the Indian insults, but it's gonna be a while.
>Sometimes a blind pig finds a truffle.
so much to unpack with this zinger.
They partnered up for another movie. It's not as good, but worth a watch if you like to watch the actors play.
Is this part of the Men With Jobs Cinematic Universe?
The Contractor
The Bricklayer
The Beekeeper
The Accountant
The Mechanic
Transporter
The Killer
the (Lincoln) Lawyer
what am I forgetting
The Painter
What about The Equalizer? Equalizing wasn't exactly his job but he did work at a Home Depot.
I thought of the Equalizer but you can't professionally equalize
unless you're a DJ
The Painter
The Foreigner (?)

Nope, it's shit and you just like it because it's in the South of the US. Other than that there's no remarkable quality that stands out, sorry buddy.
It's not the South you homosexual. You would know that if you ever traveled outside your basement.
Why does everyone but texas think texas is the south
the eastern half of Texas is definitely part of Dixie, but this movie takes place 500 miles west in West Texas.
payday
Stop plugging your shitty website.
its a bot anon
I'm not sure it passes the Bechdel test anonie sorry
it's a solid flick
>High or High Water
it's message was about brotherhood and being anti-bankers
why would Hollywood endorse & market such an Antisemitic movie
Interesting observation. Why did they even allow it to be made is another question.
because the main character was a cuck who did all he did only for his ungrateful ex wife to take it all away.
There seemed like a lot more backstory to his perceived cucking. They could have written in a story of Toby being repeatedly unfaithful to her or something that would have resulted in her b***hy unappreciative attitude, but they didn't.

wind river is another great overlooked flick, give it a watch if you liked hell or high water
Only reason I can think of is maybe some people don't like how much it's aping Coen Bro's style
I enjoyed that howeverbeit
