Because it's a pain the ass dealing with child actors. It's become an accepted trope to have teenagers played by actors that are clearly older.

On the other hand, sometimes it leads to serendipity. Nickelodeon's trademark green slime wouldn't exist if not for Canadian child labor laws.

I was going to say that, "no this is a micro budget movie, and it made almost $12 m in america alone" but I checked and this movie cost nearly $12 m to make. What the fuck. In Europe you can make a movie like Druk for 4.5 m €.

At least compared to what most people talk about when they talk about masturbation, I'm only able to cum at most 1-2 times in a day and if I do more than that it gets painful. But on the other hand it's 8" and I can stay hard for hours so dunno.

I'm 32 and while I don't pass for high school age, people legit think I'm a full 10 years younger than I am. When I start a new job people younger than me will pull rank like "When I was your age," and I have to embarrass them by saying I am older.

having actual kid actors is too risky.
sexual misconduct on set, emotional instability ruining days of filming, getting consent from their parents, growth spurts in the middle of filming making characters look dramatically different in different scenes etc.
too much hassle for little gain. some get away with casting babyfaced adults for the lead roles and casting actual age-appropriate actors for less important roles.

I feel really bad for the adult actors that are forced to find work on mixed productions. Like imagine being the guy that played Miley's brother in Hannah Montana. 30 plus years old, and in every other episode he needs to pretend he's actually interested in kissing a teenage model. Worst. Job. Ever.

Cause they wanna shoot sex scenes, and using underage actors would get them in trouble in current year so they preemptively hire older roasties to play younger characters in case they decide to shoot some sex scenes later.
