      This is true.

No real American would see a British doctor.

Hugh's real accent sounds cartoonishly fake. His put-on American accent makes him sound human.

I'm not getting medical care done in a third world country and any British doctor you might find in a America probably only got through school thanks to affirmative action.

No British do either. In Bong land you either die on a waiting list or live to see a pajeet.

        truly this is the end

I dated a girl who broke her ankle. It was considered elective and she waited three weeks to get it x-rayed and seen. By then it healed wrong and they had to re-break it to set it properly.

i broke my arm and wrist in the states, they set it ok in the emergency room but because it was such a complicated break, there was a good chance it could heal wrong even though it looked fine.
My surgeon i saw said she is actual friends with her insurance contact, and can make it seem necessary so i don't need to pay for it. the bill for surgery was 40,000 and the follow ups were a few thousand. i was pretty lucky to get most of it covered, largely because of my surgeon and minnesota has really good state insurance programs where you get to use real insurance.

pick your poison, i've lived in several other states where there's no way i'd go away without paying half. I think the US should look at minnnesota if universal is unattainable.

when a doctor goes out of your way to help you like that it is truly a blessing. a dentist helped fix my teeth when I was young and I'm very thankful for it. it was meant to be a free clinic to clean your teeth and she did two root canals for me. she is so amazing

                Anonymous

yeah i mean she basically lied. she used some pretense of a prior surgery on my wrist to make it work. One other doctor did that for me when i had some intestinal problems and desperately needed tests, so she had me answer yes with a wink to certain questions because she knew i needed them, but knew insurance wouldn't agree.

most the doctors i come in contact with are completely useless though. i was trying to get my deviated septum fixed so i can breath properly but i've been led down a road of sleep studies.. trying to treat central apnea, because occasionally i stop breathing in my sleep which is a brain thing, not an airway thing, so they want me to get a sleeping mask (which doesn't treat central apnea) and all i fricking want is to breath throughout the DAY. when i'm AWAKE. i just gave up for now. I went to a doctor who said it was an issue and she'd fix it but i need a CT scan.. b***h why isn't THIS the CT scan? you know i'm going to need one, why do i have to check with you first? she's like the 5th doctor in this chain.

Why did House turn into a skeleton?

First thing I ever saw him in was House. Didn't even know he was british until I randomly saw him on some talk show on BBC America while channel surfing

His normal British accent throws me off. I'm just too used to him sounding American

House is so cool !!!!! I like when his leg hurty so he pops a very addictive prescription medicine and then solves the case!@
not like this helped cause the OPIATE epidemic by making pain pills look cool and contributed to millions of deaths!!!

Not half as egregious as the manipulative, unrealistic, hypochondria anxiety and negative placebo effect inducing nature of every single episode.

Of course, neither one is a problem if you watch it as it was meant to be seen. (One episode per week, with ads)

man i used to watch this show high, and every time there was a heart thing my mind would start thinking about the fact that hearts can stop, and what if you thought about it enough your brain would tell your heart to stop

Because Hugh Laurie can't do an Indian accent.

When it was first on I definitely didn't clock that it was a fake american accent. And that he was british was a tidbit everyone would repeat and be surprised by. Rewatching it recently it's pretty fricking bad in the beginning. Like Benedict Cumberbatch's awful american accent.
