Exactly this. Nothings gets better. It's one shitstorm after another, and nothing gets resolved either. We just move on to the next dystopian chapter in our ever increasingly deteriorating existence. Like I wouldn't be surprised if in the not to distant future ALL online communications will be with something that isn't real. AI movies, stories, entertainment is going to take off in a BIG way so we're not even going to be watching the same shit. Imagine (just for example) your favorite show is Star Trek: Voyager and all you have to do is type in: "new episode, make it about the Borg and the Doctor with other surprise elements and subplots based on its highest rated episodes." And then you could maybe rate it, and then do it again, and again, and again. Eventually it'll get to the point where algorithms will learn what YOU prefer and then make every episode better and better, even if it's garbage to everyone else, but you won't have anyone to talk to about it....except maybe an AI friend.
Augmented Reality and robots will be IT. After that we'll all just be strangers. Why would you talk to anybody? Zoomers and Gen A will drive this one home. THESE are the good ol' days just like those Blockbuster threads.
