They really wasted the journalist premise. Clarke should be a journalist so he can be the epitome of lawfully and openly finding the truth, and a guide ordinary people to act.

And the superman persona is a more metaphorical aspiration for people.

And also uncover plots that he can stop as superman. Yeah, he can x-ray a city and eavesdrop, and be a demigod, but doing it it lawfully and with dignity for others is the moral thing.

      Anonymous

I want Clark to have this sort of vibe when interacting with Lois and other cynical city slickers

He's not mean spirited or cynical or anything - still that polite upstanding small town country boy, but if he's getting lip and banter from someone like Lois, he knows how to verbally parry and spar with them. Superman and Clark should have a sense of humour and wit. I never like it when as Clark Kent the Journalist, he's portrayed as some neurotic weakling mentally ill mess of a man

remember that Superman was invented by israelites, it's an allegory to their mindset at the time, where they felt like they had to hide their true identity and force fitting in with the goyim. Also, they literally have a weakness to the truth, represented by Superman's susceptibility to kryptonite.

        Anonymous

Yes it's true, israelites are responsible for superman's existence. But superman has been written by several white writers ever since, taking on white characteristics along the way. It's very possible for whites to hijack the character, creating a superior rendition - in fact, in many ways this has already occurred. Just because the origins are shit doesn't mean the character can't be salvaged and used for better purposes.

You can't ever really surpass MoS with a Superman film. The Donner films are from a by-gone era when superhero films were a novelty and audiences wanted something different.
Superman Returns is the modern day take on that and it failed hard.

      >You can't ever really surpass MoS with a Superman film.
Yes you can, quite easily actually. Simply a solid rendition of Pa dying from a heart attack rather than a fricking tornado would work wonders. I've seen animated forms of Lex Luthor a frick ton more compelling and entertaining than Shannon's Zod, so even an Earth-based non-world ending Lex as the villain could work very well. A small scale for Superman's first big outing would showing him doing everything he can to rescue people on a more personal level than what he did in MoS, as well as showing more of the Daily Planet and journalist side of things.

The extreme tl;dr is the type of people who become journalists tend to be socialized to be believers in the "party line" so to speak, and the people who own media companies have the lixury of selecting and promoting people who toe the line well. Outright censorship is rarely needed.

Following this, it'd be cool to see Clark exposed to the corrupt world of journalism, influenced by Lex, only to go on a journey to reform it. In the end he'd succeed in some ways, fail in others. Perry, Jimmy and Lois would see the error of their ways, whereas corruption would still exist elsewhere, such as Lex funding a different journal.

The one thing that always gets me about CIA posting is how Cinemaphileers think the CIA is basically omnipotent. I remember why Priggy's plan exploded in Russian airspace and chuds immediately started blaming the CIA, claiming they somehow now only infiltrated the very depths of the Russian government but somehow blew up a Russian plane without anyone knowing the better.

There could be any number of reasons for it. Possibly they got more power from it, or took care of a loose end. They will do anything for more power.

not in the way you're saying though.
You can apply lazy ass derogations to anything.
                >oh YEAH? why would mcdonalds make UNhealthy food on PURPOSE
                >pfft, weedkiller? as if weedkiller could do any damage in humans, it's not the same as the one they used in the war, oh it is? well it's obviously more complicated than that otherwise they wouldn't use it

Serious question, is there a 24/7 designated board glowie or is it a team of glowies per board? How do you apply for that position?

There aren't actual federal agents. They distribute talking points to shill farms in third world countries.
In flag boards they use VPNs to hide their real flags.

                (Me)
There are groups like Correct the Record and NAFO that operate in the first world, though. NAFO was more a forced meme that caught on just enough to sustain itself. I've never met anyone who takes them seriously though, not even pro-Ukraine people.

he gave context to this and mentioned that if someone was plotting some shit or about to make heinous potentially world fricking move as a dictator, the cia would succumb to their pedophillic demands if it meant coming to the table

i mean if someone said "bring me a child prostitute or i nuke the planet" and they completely had the means to do so, you'd be fricking moronic to not comply
