the whole driving sub plot of taking advantage of a mentally vulnerable person with the falsehood that they are going after the "bad guys" who wronged him when in fact they are just being used as basically a human weapon, all already done in the ichi the killer manga, much better as well, yet this movie shows no acknowledgement of who they ripped it off from.

not cope, it is different, manga allows for much more story building, character development, and more since it can go on much longer and there doesn’t have to be insane cuts from the story/plot to fit in to a 12 episode anime. not to mention far less fan-service and usually bad voice acting which deters from the story.
