I’m not sure, maybe because redditors seethe Bill Murray gets embarrassed early in the movie. It’s my favourite and has enough Anderson gimmicks while also a good overall film. I want to have sex with a cute Indian woman with glasses who tells me not to cum in her but I do anyway
yeah, most people haven't seen that one, but will still say this is his worst when they really meant to say "that i've seen" i haven't seen the new one and just made that mistake
Henry Sugar was great, Asteroid was entirely pointless with some truly horrible acting by main leads. I assume that he wanted to do something light, after French Dispatch didn't perform that well.
It's probably the worst of his early 00s heyday but it's still very good.
Also, most people consider Asteroid City to be his worst, and so do I(even though it's 7/10 to me)
I'd say they're on the same level, though I loved how varied French Dispatch was.
the entire sequence starting with them coming across the brothers in the river is actually really powerful. i also like Wally W. as the alopecia assistant.
Royal Tenenbaums has kino performances from most of the cast. Also, Bill Murray gets cucked.
Moonrise is a charming movie about young romance. If you have ever had young love you would like it. If you're a forever alone gay you probably wont.
Both are great
Tenenbaums: >stacked ensemble cast >Gene "Kino" Hackman >terrific script
Moonrise Kingdom: >good cast, the child actors are really strong >imo the best aesthetics and atmosphere of his movies
Moonrise Kingdom was the last both serious and innocent film depicting young romance. It's also the most aesthetically strong of his films and unlike his others apart from his animations and Henry Sugar is his only family-friendly film.
I thought it was boring.
I really liked Grand Budapest and the more recent stuff he did on Netflix, but this and Asteroid City were boring as frick.
Anderson kino is ranked as follows:
God tier: Rushmore, Bottle Rocket
High Tier: Royal Tennanbaums, Life Aquatic, Grand Budapest,
Mid Tier Fantastic Mr. Fox, Moonrise Kingdom
Low Tier: Darjeeling, Isle of Dogs,
Shit Tier: Asteroid City
I really like this movie. It still has Anderson's style without going into cartoon territory. It's just a grounded, slice of life movie, about 3 brothers trying to reunite after their father's death.
I ranked Darjeeling behind Bottle Rocket because I cant remember anything about it. Im sorry, Ill adjust my rankings if i change my mind after a rewatch.
here is the true ranking of his kinography, not including his last two
grand budapest > life aquatic = darjeeling > royal tenenbaums > rushmore > fantastic mr fox > isle of dogs > moonrise kingdom > bottle rocket
I'm ignoring OPs post and ranking his films I've seen
Fantastic Mr Fox > Rushmore > Royal Tennebaums > Grand Budapest Hotel > Life Aquatic > Bottle Rocket > Darjeeling Limited (I need to rewatch i barely remember it). I haven't seen Isle of Dogs or anything after.
One small thing I like about his movies is in every single one I've seen, someone smokes a pipe.
>le parody of themselves meme
shut the frick up, dingus. this is such a braindead criticism, all midwits love to say this shit for any piece of art when an artist really comes into their own and refines their style to be truly iconic.
Anytime I see Moonrise Kingdom low on someone's ranking you can just tell they never had childhood love or teenage love. Its just to foreign a concept for them to understand.
Wes Anderson is the last active vestige of the now nearly extinct American WASP culture. This is why leftists hate him. >Darjeeling is a neocolonial story in which India is used as a prop for white males!! >Grand Budapest Hotel whitewashes life in the christo-fascist Habsburg Empire!! >Moonrise Kingdom ignores the struggles of people of color in 1965!!!
Etc etc
IMO(no particular order) >Timeless Classics: Rushmore, Moonrise Kingdom, Budapest, Fantastic Mr. Fox >Kino: Isle of Dogs, Henry Sugar, Life Aquatic, Tanenbaums, Bottle Rocket >Comfy but nothing amazing: French Dispatch, Darjeeling >Asteroid City: Asteroid City

Because it is? All his other movies are >>>even better<<<
Nah the most recent was not good

>French Dispatch is better than Darjeeling Limited
Wrong

Idiots say that
the entire sequence starting with them coming across the brothers in the river is actually really powerful. i also like Wally W. as the alopecia assistant.
someone redpill me on why the royal tenenbaums and the scout trooper one is good
Royal Tenenbaums has kino performances from most of the cast. Also, Bill Murray gets cucked.

They don’t though. Do they? If they do, don’t listen. They don’t know shit.
I thought it was boring.

it's among his best. the worst is bottle rocket. anyone who disagrees is tasteless.

any wes anderson + owen wilson writing credit > all his other films
bottle rocket sucks ass
Grand Budapest sucks ass. When the credits rolled I thought it was a bad joke. Bro actually forgot to finish the script.
Aquatic/Rushmore/Tenebaums/Darjeeling are all kinos
Dogs/Fox/Moonrise are all perfectly good watchable films
Budapest/Bottle Rocket/Asteroid are trash of the highest caliber.
>t. loved spring breakers
Budapest was great
Grand Budapest was the moment when Wes Anderson turned into a parody of Wes Anderson
>le parody of themselves meme

it's still good, it's just not as good as everything else he's made, bottle rocket being the exception. bottle rocket is the only bad film he's made.
it's my least favorite of his kinos and there's a long gap between TDL and TFD.
>abbreviations
this isn't Cinemaphile, you ignoramus. the only film that gets the abbreviation treatment is TDK.
gfy

It was until the last piece of shit he released. Now it seems brilliant by comparison.
