The pacing was good, unlike in the Abrams movies, which were pure garbage in that regard (and everything else), some of the story lines were okay, I wouldn't even be mad at Luke's history with Ben if he wasn't one of my favorite characters in movies.
As many say, it's not a bad movie per se, it's a bad Star Wars movie because it shits on our favorite characters, but J.J. Abrams shat on them first, and Johnson's direction was an improvement over TFA. If it wasn't a Star Wars movie I'd give it a 6.5 or even a 7, it is better than Hack Sneeder's most recent flick, but as a SW movie it got a 3 from me, while TFA and TRoS got 1.5 and 0.

The 2nd half clunks in pace compared to how zippy it starts, the ending isn't fully satisfying (opinion), the Paul Dano stuff is self-contradicting in it's depiction of how time travel changes manifest, the future-mob who are restricted by the difficulty of murder in the future go so far as to create time travel to make people disappear... have lethal weapons and kills future-Bruce's wife. Why even have them? What is the purpose of lethal weapons when they could have nonlethal? Johnson broke the rule that necessitated time travel (living person disposal) to leave future-Bruce nothing to return to and it's needless. They could have come for Bruce because of any reason, but they came because they just do? More so, isn't that the mob after the Rain Maker takes over? So did they just inherit the system the previous mob had in place? And send Bruce back to himself... Why? That's another, send them into a fricking volcano, there's nothing on the receiving end to need safe ground. Send them into a pit with a concrete roof and no air, just bodies filling in until it's full.
The movie is full of clever ideas Johnson didn't fully flesh out.
And that's partly on the difficulty of time travel as a whole, it's a total b***h to write around without totally lifting the tried-and-true formats.
