This is one of the saddest things, the 70s and 80s had so much kino television and so much of it was just destroyed. A small fraction of it was preserved when VCRs became popular but most of it is just gone.
Anon, they're slightly incorrect, so don't worry, most materials from the 70s and 80s are just fine. Now, seeing them and buying them easily and legally are other separate matters.
Bruh there is so much shit that is utterly obliterated. Sesame Street, maybe, I'm sure exists. But I'm talking about other shows. Used to be a guy on my local UHF channel who did an absolute kino movie hosting show for 30 years, with little bits of trivia and history. Now all gone except a tiny clip or two that managed to survive on Youtube. Maybe someone has a big stack of tapes archived somewhere, but we'll never find them.
>there is so much shit that is utterly obliterated.
I know, but mostly that affects stuff from before the 70s.
>Used to be a guy on my local UHF channel who did an absolute kino movie hosting show for 30 years, with little bits of trivia and history. Now all gone except a tiny clip or two that managed to survive on Youtube.
Sounds interdasting. Seriously I hope those are found. But as to the professional films, I think we're in better shape worldwide, than say the BBC and their willful destruction of Doctor Who and other shows.

The snuff orgy scene from Event Horizon is forever lost. Also some anime stuff i don't remember. Its a fricking travesty
they're a bunch of boomer hippie commies, nobody takes responsibility, living life on easy mode too busy getting high on LSD and going to swinger parties
>old woman drops her broom >Black person won't give it back until she "shows him some respect" when in reality he's just pissed that he isn't getting a free broom
Just as classic as it gets.
Not sesame street forums, Lost Media Wiki discord. That’s the guy who runs the wiki telling people not to post the link to this. The wiki is infamous for shitty archival of lost media with some pieces that resurface getting lost again.
I found this screencap from Cinemaphile a few days ago.
I belong to a Discord forum of people reverse-engineering Super Mario 64 to do stuff like add high-poly models and raycasting. But if you ask them for the actual rom they tell you to pound sand. homosexuals too afraid to get sued to do anything fun. Same thing happened with Stage 9: a recreation of the Enterprise-D in Unity. Got cancelled cause some filthy lawyer found out. Joke's on them, Star Trek has been utter shit since Enterprise and that project would have given CBS undue praise. Now they work on recreating the Orville, which is owned by Disney. Uh oh!
>But if you ask them for the actual rom
Well no shit you fricking spoonfed homosexual. If you can't find a fricking rom you don't deserve to be on the internet. You don't "belong to a discord" of reverse-engineers. You're a fricking leech in a chat room.

the discord mod is a strange creature. it's seen that it has a 'job' (self appointed) to do. in it's nature, it is petty and borderline moronic - but excuses it as a part of it's 'job'. 'attention!' is all it thinks, as it @s everyone on its troony discord server. it does not care that noone would think to DMCA a show from 50 years ago, nor that it would get them into real trouble, for all it cares is one thing: attention, and it's dilation schedule. an odd creature i must say.
>blacks are all well-mannered and reasonable
Man, crack really did a number on those people, huh? I know it was bad even then but the whole culture just seemed different.
I love news like this! 🙂 I was wondering when they'd release it. Now please release all the TV cuts of movies, plus cinema releases in their entirety, looking at you The Black Cauldron.
It's very strange for me yo Sesame Street in a dirty ghetto.
Here in Norway, someone bought the concept in the 90's and made Sesame Station. Everything is clean, no trash on the street, only white people (and muppets).
Does anyone rememeber this weird animated skit they used to do of like, a child throwing a ball over a wall or something, only it was all dark, like pitch black. I read the Wizard of Earthsea books as a kid and there's this bit where the afterlife is described as this endless hill beyond a wall in darkness and it's just full of ghosts forever and I always thought that was the same thing, spooked the hell out of me
One of the best villains in film. Gotta commend her for committing to the bit.
What is it about the Wicked Witch that was so kino?
Unashamedly evil and mean. Also, that laugh.
>there are lost Sesame Street episodes
How can that be possible?
I'm still waiting for someone to tell me how to get to Sesame Street.
The network thought it was too scary for young kids.
>The network thought it was too scary for young kids.
i thought they showed it and a lot of parents complained.
I thought I read they had showed it to like a test audience or something and parents there complained.
The flying monkeys scared the shit out of me when I was 4 so maybe they had a point
They used to just throw away TV episodes after showing them back then and also nitrate is highly flammable so tons of shows burned up in the vaults.

Most of them are 'lost', as in not available to the public.
Most of the first thousand episodes spanning from '70s to '80s are not available anywhere.
they're a bunch of boomer hippie commies, nobody takes responsibility, living life on easy mode too busy getting high on LSD and going to swinger parties
The real reason they wouldn't show it.
>old woman drops her broom

im kind of surprised they could get away with her saying fudge like that,
Doing that voice after hearing her real voice must have done a number on her vocal cords
I thought she melted
Please refrain from posting links thanks 🙂
Why do they care so much?
If they get DMCA'd then the main outlet for their hobby gets nuked
its clearly just a way to cover their ass from lawyers
>oh noooo, haha, dont spread this link that we posted ;), that would be soooooo baaaad lmaooo
Cover their ass's from what? Who orwhy would anyone sue
lawyers are subhumans, you underestimate their habits
why are you lurking Sesame Street forums

This guy can't find a fricking rom, and he thinks discord mods are the problem.
What a bunch of homosexual trannies, these are the same kind of people that hate pirating media for archival purposes

Think of discord mods as jannies, nothing more is needed
Can you tell me one good thing that has come from discord. I'll wait.
i'm on a discord with bots that rip FLAC from deezer, qobuz, and tidal
>blacks are all well-mannered and reasonable

it was a different time
>this made Gen X’ers shit their pants and cry
I love news like this! 🙂 I was wondering when they'd release it. Now please release all the TV cuts of movies, plus cinema releases in their entirety, looking at you The Black Cauldron.
Holy shit. This "Capital I" segment just gave me a giant wave of deja vu and / or nostalgia.
Rubbing it here!
And polishing it there!
I'm climbing to the morning sun!
Some of the shorts were great.
'70s Sesame Street is top tier.
The Grover waiter scene was funny. Where is the divorce episode, that's what I really want to see
What an butthole. Give her back her room jesum crow
BASED BASED BASED THIS IS KINO
>inb4 one of the autistic youtubers makes a two and a half hour video about tracking down this episode
lost media scavenger hunt stories are far more kino than anything that's been on the silver screen for the past twenty years
As you can see from that Sesame Street video circa 1976, Gen X was the first generation to be blessed with diversity and exclusivity at an early age.
Is this novel to you? have you just realized this?
Frick you israelite, it sucked then, it sucks now.
>third worlder ESL can't into sarcasm
Getting really sick of this meme.
What no Bert and Ernie reaction screencaps? Those two gays.
It's very strange for me yo Sesame Street in a dirty ghetto.

this was 70s new york, anon. what were you expecting? if it looked any different it wouldn't have been new york
Does anyone rememeber this weird animated skit they used to do of like, a child throwing a ball over a wall or something, only it was all dark, like pitch black. It wasn't really lost, you could watch it if you travelled to some film archive somewhere, it just wasn't rebroadcast on TV.
>where's that witch, i'll fix her
holy kek based
Margaret Hamilton was so amazing.
I'm starting to think Ernie would annoy Burt on purpose for the lulz
Why did she threaten to turn the BLACK GUY into a BASKETTEBALL?
No wonder this racist episode was banned!
you can see the horses dick in the intro lol
