Figment actually predates Lockheed by like five months.

In the late 90s, they overhauled the ride and took him and his magic scientist creator Dreamfinder out, replacing the whimsical fantasy adventure with an optical illusion science lab run by Eric Idle. This was so dogshit they rushed a quickfix that slapped Figment back in after less then two years and its been stuck in a mediocre state since. An overhaul restoring the original storyline has been the Disney park fandom equivalent of Nintendogays demanding Banjo/Geno/Mother 3.
