I can't remember a damn thing about this show even after watching two whole seasons.
The jokes don't land, the characters are forgettable and the setting is unrefined hodge podge of half baked ideas.

It was almost unique in that sense. Like even amateur shit like that "neo yokio" cartoon was at least chaotic trash that had things happening.
It's almost like Disenchantment was professionally planned to be as boring and random as humanly possible. The plot too. It's slowly, veeery slowly building shit up, only to spend a bunch of episodes on something else, then hint the shit again, then shit actually happens but only halfway in the season ends and the shit is disregarded, suddenly explained differently or happening again later, like the first twist but in green. I was almost feeling moronic watching this and couldn't tell whether the plot and pacing was nonsense or whether the boredom made me get lost in daydreams too often to make sense of anything.

      >I can't remember a damn thing about this show even after watching two whole seasons.
I have watched all 4 previous seasons and am halfway through the new one and I can't remember a single thing that happened in any of them. I didn't even recognize some of the characters from the season premiere. It's kind of comforting to not give a shit about the lore or even why anyone is doing anything, because it's not worth the time. I just need something to watch on lunch break that doesn't make me feel like shit and this hits the mark. It takes bland to new heights though, that's for sure. It's beige flavorless Jell-O.

I was all in on the concept. I've wanted a fun fantasy show like this for a long time.
But it fails on so many fronts it's a miracle it kept getting renewed.
No, I take that back... not miracle. Mystery.

How would you know unless you watched it? Any more lies you'd care to tell us?

It's currently running on my tv, but I cannot keep my eyes on it for more than a few minutes at a time.
The characters keep getting seperated then reunited then separated again and then another level to the plot gets introduced without it resolving anything from the previous plot. I can't keep up. Or I can't be bothered to keep up.
The show needs to wrap up a plot and move on. It refuses to do that.

I wish more writers understood that keeping the audience intrigued doesn't mean that no plot should ever get any fricking resolve but that some of them should, others getting new clear hints that make speculate and that for those solved it raises some other questions.
But it all needs to be restricted. I feel like a lot of people who aren't used to cartoon story telling are just spending whole series with excuses to resolve anything to the point at which half of the cast are forced mysterious characters that make no sense and never say anything meaningful since the "twist" involving them is only allowed to be shown 70 episodes later.

What was the deal with this women with headscarf anyway? I never even guessed what she might be. And what role did steamland play at the end? That was also such a stupid part that I thought would be THE twist that changes the series. But nah, Bean just returns and steamland.. exists? I guess. Never finished s3.

Oh yeah I forgot it existed. Watched episode 1, it did nothing for me, thought I'd check out more episodes sometime in the future and then never did

    Never even considered it.

It's just so fricking bad. It's an endless swirl of ideas being slapped on top of one another and never resolving itself. At one point the king started making
a honking sound and never stopped.

I feel like the jokes are pretty good but the overall plot is pretty convoluted- it's the first time I've ever wished a show had a status quo that they could return to.
It made me appreciate Futurama more because they usually only had one episode to lay the groundwork for their heavier moments- not sure how or why Disenchanted became less and less compelling with each new season.

I kinda feel the same. I really like all the dynamics of the first season but they kinda end by season two. And the plot just being a ball of mess and shit happening make it hard to follow.

Elfo became King consort to the. We Queen Mop Girl.
Lucy is dead and in heaven with Bean’s stupid uncle.
Drog went off with his bear wife and bear son.
Bean defeated her mom and ran off with the mermaid.
The three eyed guy married the quack wizard.
All the bad guys were defeated.

But it is. Nobody has the constitution to sit down and watch an entire episode of this show without losing focus. There's just too much going on and no reason to care about any of it.

The previous seasons tempered my expectations of it and I like it well enough by this point. I've also grown to like it's approach to satirizing the fantasy genre and how it doesn't fall into the category of being a parody solely telling jokes about the genre but a comedy within that genre. I started watching Supermansion and comparing the two makes me appreciate this more across the board.

Man, it had more endings that Lord of the Rings, and I didn't give a shit about any of them. Even beyond losing track of the plot and the characters, it was like they picked the most boring outcomes for everyone.

I think the only good thing I can say about Disenchantment is that it lowered my expectations so much that now I'm actually enjoying zombie Futurama.
