I have two pretty young girls, the last new-ish movies I watched with them were Into the Spider-verse which they loved, Pokemon 2000 CGI version which they liked but I hated because it was just the anime with all the soul sucked out, and Strange World which we literally turned off it was so all over the place and unfocussed. Will probably watch Super Mario Movie with them soon, if we can rent it online.

The problem with the DCEU weren't just creative, the studio wanted a cinematic universe and Snyder clearly didn't get it and just wanted to make whatever the frick he wanted, they should've made him focus entirely on Man of Steel and have someone else map out the Universe if that's what they wanted, truth though they should've never bothered to do a cinematic universe at all, but they wanted the money and popularity of Marvel so they had to do it, not realizing people were never going to bother with it because they already had the MCU
After watching Snyder's JL I actually sympathized with WB and Whedon a little. It's simply not that fricking good and I can kind of see why they wanted to show Snyder the door. I say that as someone who liked Man of Steel and Dawn of Justice.
I think what dealt them their death blow was hastily re-editing Suicide Squad in response to the Dawn of Justice blowback, and then having every single one of their fricking movies just be a response to the critical reception of the last one. In the same way that wolves can smell fear, I think the audience caught on pretty quick that WB was flying by the seat of their pants and there's simply no point in watching movies like that.
Marvel might be an assembly line, but it's a well-oiled assembly line. Right now I think they need to put the DCU out to pasture for a decade or so.

The problem with the woke stuff is that it makes for a shit movie. No, the problem is that now you can't tell real stories anymore, because the female character HAS to be infallible. She literally cannot have a character arc. The male character can't save her, because damsel in distress trope. The end of the little mermaid where eric does nothing and needs to be saved by ariel, again, is a good exaple of this. If your story sucks because you have to abide by a ton of hidden rules, your movie will suck.

I mean to anyone who hasn't seen this shit-bird, he and supergirl and Keatonbats and teen Flash Barry frick up the final battle with Zod, and Keatonbats and Supergirl die. So they go back in time and try it again, it doesn't work.
After a third or fourth try, Barry decides "frick it" and refuses to leave the terrible CGI zone you've all seen, with young Barry begging him to continue trying to help.
He refuses, tells young Barry that it's just fate that his family and whole world are razed by Zod, whatcha gonna do? Older Barry has mastered his powers and basically has All You Need is Kill scenario, but he just says frick it.
They can't beat Zod with any amount of preptime (even Bat-preptime), even though this is a Zod who's barely left his ship and has never exposed himself out of his suit.
So FRICKING stupid.
Oh and after stealing back the grocery tomatoes that his mother forgot in the store, (he travelled back to make sure she got it, because it triggers his Dad being away for her murder), ensuring events would play out exactly as they did to avoid the disruption, it's revealed at the end that he MOVED all the cans so his Dad would look up at the surveillance camera and be exonerated.
So he undid the minor change he made that left her alive, but did a different change that would ensure his Dad got sprung, creating yet another alternate reality with Clooneybats.
So Keaton and Kara and everyone else just died because Barry was just fricking low effort.
