Probably because they are a Zuko and/or Aang stan who is worried that if Azula truly does something irredeemable, the blood will be on their hands since they are responsible for keeping her bending and escaping.
Debending Ozai almost killed Aang. I don't imagine he'd want to try that shit again unless he really, really, really fricking had to. Especially on someone like Azula, who is both crazier and more willful than her sociopath of a father.

He managed to face an avatar with full power, it wasn't just him who was being benefited by the comet. It's understandable that agent smith was giving neo a hard time in matrix, but ozai didn't have the advantage that smith had. Everything about the avatar and avatar state is really confusing

I always just assumed it was for like a moral reason? Like, she's supposed to be a victim of abuse from her family despite being favored. She's just kinda crazy while Ozai was an evil guy in his own right. Unless he had some slightly sympathetic backstory too that I forgot about.
Killing her would've made Zuko look like the same ruthless, power hungry sociopath as the rest of his family and ruined any good will or attempt at the peace process.
Taking her bending off Azula would've resulted in an immediate and violent suicide the second she got the opportunity and is basically the same as killing her, just using her own hands.

Did she even kill somebody outside of Aang? Iroh had a reputation before he went soft and nobody complains he got scot-free.
