I don't know what to feel about this. On one hand I'm glad there's more Horizon content, but then there's, the news of it being centered around the fall of humanity. Horizon prequel stuff pretty much. I feel like that'd just be another grungy run of the mill militaristic show. It isn't about the real selling point of Horizon is it? A caveman punk+scifi setting, that's what makes it so unique. That juxtaposition is where the magic is.

Video game adaptations are a relatively recent thing, outside a few exceptions, and it’s during this period where you basically have a bunch of reddit-minded producers running around Hollywood that get too caught up in their own vision and think that by tweaking this here and that there they can make it modern or “better”, but they do that 6 ways to Sunday that it basically becomes a ship of Theseus paradox but instead of replacing pieces with wood, it’s replaced with something completely different, like steel, or in the modern age “woke” garbage, to the point it doesn’t resemble the original at all. The only way I can see it working is if you get a few corporate devs who worked on video games from the late 90s up to the 2010s to move into Hollywood but they never will because they’re retired and Hollywood is a tumor

They intentionally made her ugly because the SOI-MALE producer decided that a beautiful woman would break a nail then cry about it. Then they made her even uglier for the sequel for the same reason, which is most likely why the second one collapsed in sales after its first week.

Because videogame stories are largely bottom of the barrel and nobody cares enough about them to fix them. Also the studios only care about the IP because it has an audience they can already appeal to. Hollywood has loved pre-established audiences for over a decade.

I don't really game anymore, so I haven't played it (yet?) but I was hired to work on the cinematics. Interestingly, most of my departement had a background in film, including me. So, I am mostly interested in the visuals, and I found them quite appealing. Haven't seen many games that looked better than this one.
I dont play many games2-3 annually , but HFW was sincerely jaw dropping

Beautiful as it may be, the gameplay it self looks too vanilla for me. Only games I play these days are Dark Souls and Halo Reach
I adore FS but I loved HFW more, Bloodborne still is GOAT tho gameplaywise.

It's a technically pretty game, you can see the high polygon count on the graphics, but games like ER completely surpass it with better design, photography, it's just creates not something pretty, but truly beautiful.
