Someone pick a year and I'll give my favorite horror movies from that year (nothing too early, I haven't seen many before the 80s)

Thanksgiving is one of this year's most enjoyable movies in any genre, a slasher done with talent and knowledge of the tropes, canon etc

What happened to the Saw movies? They used to be believable traps. You could imagine the situation, making it scary. Now it's

most people would tell you Tumbbad, I think. It's the only thing I've seen from them that feels modern. India is super far behind on horror as far as I can tell. they're past the west on action right now though, Animal was fricking wild and the Lokesh stuff is nutty too.

      Thanksgiving
      M3gan

        Anonymous

Yeah it was M3gan but When Evil Lurks was probably objectively better
Cobweb is going to be a cult classic and He's Watching will be an underground curiosity for the serious heads
Thanksgiving was crap, Eli Roth has good taste but just NO talent

Thanksgiving was a near-flawless slasher and its humor was refreshing

I shut it off when a dumpster lid bumped by a car cut someone in half.
            absolute trash.

I liked Sinister, although it wasn't as scary as some folks hyped it up to be. The sequel sucked.
I enjoyed the first few Insideous movies. 3 was my favorite, and I haven't seen any of the following films yet, though I plan to.
47 Hours was decent, although I didn't particularly enjoy how it seemed like the focus would occasionally shift away from the plot and onto the characters for prolonged periods of time.
The Ring was spooky/cool, as was The Grudge (though the somewhat recent redux of which kind of sucked).
I still enjoy all of the Halloween films (including Zombie's remakes).
Freddy vs Jason is a classic, and although I've only seen a few of their prior films as individual characters (which I enjoyed), FvJ took the cake as being the best one of the series collectively IMO.
The first two SAW movies are great. The rest are overrated trash.

Dark and Wicked was nice but frick the last 5 seconds. Most moronic subversion of expectations I've experienced in a long time

M3gan was honestly meh to me

The truth is M3gan is just a comedy but it gets too much right and was too unexpected to not be the best of the year. Remember seeing it in the theater and two separate times when she started singing the house came down. Doesn't hurt that it has top tier both real and artificial dicky

is saw X as good as people say? the last saw i watched was probably III, lol, and i'm not sure what to do. i'm tempted to rewatch them all, but i have a feeling it gets really terrible and i might break. so what should i do? skip straight to saw x? or go through all of them?

I hate saw and hated the new one, hit if you want to check it out, you're I. Luck because it's a prequel that takes place between 1 and 2, so you don't need to have seen the whole franchise
