I thought annihilation was kinda boring
>girl boss Predator
It's shit until the last third or so.
I liked the visuals but other than that yeah it wasn't anything special
Lake Mungo by far. The plot twist doesn't work at all and just makes me lose car in the movie.
Without a doubt this. It's...baffling. It's not terrible it was just very disappointing. Filled with every possible cliché you can think of. Jeffrey Dean Morgan gave it his all though. He's a real pro.
>The Outwaters
>Willow Creek
>Lake Mungo
All were incredibly boring
I liked it, but it's average at best IMO. I completely understand why people wouldn't like it, though. It definitely doesn't do anything worth praise.
>Twin Peaks
No, not even close. Literally nothing to do with each other.
Lake Mungo hands down. Frick that movie and any moronic ass zoomer that likes it
>go into thread to post Lake Mungo
>already several replies
kek, that movie really is overrated as frick
Savageland is a movie only Americans can appreciate.
This, and probably moreso only people who've lived near the border.
>near the border.
Truly a savage land
Shit meme, Lake Mungo is found footage kino. Up there with BWP and REC.
hellhouse llc
man, that movie was 1/10
It's the most masterful zombie found footage movie ever made. Y'all are just malding cause the protagonist is a brave Hispanic hero and a MAP. And it showed anti immigrant racists as the losers they are.
>and a MAP
???
The main character was a minor attracted person. He took pictures of the Christian pastor's 8 year old blonde haired white daughter. Shame he couldn't save her.
but I like hispanics except when they talking about tranime
Too bad she bimbofied herself.
Yeah, They're the ones who made me quit Cinemaphile few years ago
>Hispanic man is MAP
many such cases
Lake Mungo
YellowBrickRoad
Nothing Happens: The Movie but this time it's a period piece.
>deadass fr no cap Puritan(s) just letting Goat Devil walk all over them after murdering their family
>sister doesn't even bargain for the Twins lives, just have my eternal soul FOR FREE
It has issues
>Aussie version of Twin Peaks
In terms of plot but the tone of the movie is completely different
Barbarian was boring and not scary and dumb.
It Follows might be the worst horror movie I've seen unless you can count House of 1,000 Corpses but that is such garbage I can barely consider that substance. It's nothing. It Follows had a good start and then just fell apart and got really stupid as it went along. Was shot well and the score was good though.
I liked It Follows but yeah it does start to fall apart. I thought Smile was better tbh.
When it got to the end and they're like "I guess we just lure it into a pool and try shooting it or something." And by that point the thing is actively picking up her friends and seemingly breaking it's own rules. Just pissed me off.
I'm asiatic and unironically Lake mungo is one of the best horror movies. I entered a military training camp where grenade accident happen once, I served for a month and transferred to the unit. Drill Instructor in training center was a strange person whose soul seemed to have escaped, and he said that man who died in the grenade accident appear on a rainy day. in night, Wearing a raincoat, just smiling, "It seems that anyone who died in an accident or suicide can't leave there for the forever" And I actually saw a ghost there, it was white as if it's whole body was glowing and it was dancing looking back in the abandoned warehouse. I made sure I wasn't looking at anything or dreaming, and I looked there again. He was dancing regardless of whether I was watching or not. In fact, he seemed to save me once. Because I instinctively felt that if it had turned it's face to me and looked at me, I'd fricking died of a heart attack, It felt like seeing deadly wild beasts such as tiger, or natural disasters And when I saw Lake Mungo, I remembered what that schizo said, remembered that warehouse ghost or something, Lake Mungo was a calm, sad, and scary movie in itself, but unironically, it's a realistic movie it seems. A person who died in an accident or suicide can't never leave peacefully. That's what I think.
Didn't read but I’m happy for you or sorry that happened.
Great post, asiatic anon. What you said about it being comparable to a wild animal or natural disaster is specially true. Although I think it weights more to the surreal side of things, the sort of occurrence that you don't really fully process until the next day.
Meds. None of the Annihilation replies have mentioned Lake Mungo.
So fricking dull. Turns out an entire full-length movie made out-of-focus, with no explanations, all in a dream-like fashion is just a bore to watch.
I'm sure that some people find it amazing and really scary but the entire approach was just too much for me.
Are there even any decent Shudder original movies? Didn't watch that many but they all were pretty underwhelming. They looked cheap too, like Youtube fan film kind of cheap.
Moloch
Thanks, haven't seen that one.
Deadstream
I started watching it and I turned it off because I couldn't see shit. Like literally nothing, I guess that's the point but I just can't consider it a proper film. It's more of an indie flick he should've uploaded on Youtube
>can't into structuralist film
Horror at the High Desert - MC was stupid. You have a fricking gun and the camera's night vision. How could you even lose against a guy with just a knife and lantern? You don't even need the camera's night vision. Just the sound of footsteps and the light from the lantern will alert you of the target.
The Ritual - Anons say it's like Blair Witch. It's not. The only similarity is the forest setting and occult theme. The ending was a huge let down. It's like everyone and the monster became stupid and let the MC ecape.
Ritual bums me out because I absolutely love the whole middle portion. I’ve watched it a few times now during rainstorms, and goddamn do I love that whole cabin part.
But you’re right. The end is shit.
>Horror at the High Desert - MC was stupid.
I'm pretty sure the movie is implying he's autistic. Am I wrong?
He has autism, but it's not the moronic type of autism. If anything, his autism should make him more capable of using a gun and defending himself properly since autists are usually obsessed with procedure. Autist super sensitivity to color and sounds should've made him acutely aware of any sound and light.
>Horror at the High Desert
I thought it was okay but too slow and lacking in much substance. However that still makes it better than most of the found footage/faux-documentary horror movies I've seen. Haven't seen the sequel yet and wondering if it's any good.
Not based on a Cinemaphile recommendation but After Midnight (2019) is the worst "horror" film I've ever seen. Went in blind and was accosted by the most offensively indie california film I've ever seen. The monster doesn't actually exist until the last 3 minutes and there's a 20 minute one-take where the two main characters talk about their feelings.
worst resident evil media to date
whoa that's a bold statement
i'm not wrong
>half this thread is morons getting filtered by absolute kino
Yeah, the ones saying Lake Mungo was bad.
>lake Mungo
Kino
>annihilation
Kino
>skinamarink
Kino
>The Outwaters
Kino
>barbarian
Pretty good
>the witch
Kino
Feels good to actually enjoy things instead of being a boring cynical homosexual
>I like everything I am told to like
But you're telling him not to like those movies.
Lake Mungo
>trailer full of kino shots
>It's because they included ALL the good shots in the trailer
Bruh, how does anyone in 2010+ not know
When was the last good zombie movie?
Want some comfy zombie movies. Tired of all the "human drama" shit after the Walking Soidead era.
Train to Busan, I guess. I also liked I Am a Hero.
>When was the last good zombie movie?
The Sadness
terrifier 2
Wasn't crazy about the first one but I actually liked 2.
weird how they named the third movie 2
>Dude Bro Party Massacre III
>it's a standalone movie
>The Third Saturday In October Part V
>there's only two movies total
Naming shit is weird
Dumb fricking Hot Topic horror
>2023
>hot topic
Hot Topic hasn't been "in" for over a decade. Might want to brush up on your pop culture.
Barbie.
