There’s no other new show to get passionate about, it’s not perfect but at least it’s pretty good. You are never going to get anything like the first 3 seasons of game of thrones or season 1 of true detective again. That’s it. Even the movie industry is on life support at this point, big fish would rather cut corners and make things cheaply so they can keep their pay the same. The head of Warner bros cut multiple shows and delayed paying actors just so he could keep his $50 million a year paycheck. Actors and craftsmen who are truly passionate about their work are few and far between now because of the state of the industry.

Don't worry anon this show is actual slop anyway. Take out all the black washing and girl power shit and the show would still not be good, the writers fundamentally misunderstand the kind of story they're telling which became clear when they inserted a scene where a woman kills a ton of innocent peasants with a dragon, insisted it was an empowering scene that gives her the moral high ground because she didn't roast the hightowers and said "it's game of thrones the smallfolk don't matter"
For me it's just sunk cost because I love ASOIAF and still don't have closure on the story so I watch it and enjoy shitposting about the characters and house rivalries but you aren't missing anything because you're too jaded, modern television actually just sucks. I'd bet there's plenty of old stuff you haven't seen, don't waste time being depressed over the state of art when there's more great stuff out there than you see in a lifetime

For me, it was killing a random guard, chosen because he was black, presumably, and then swapping his body for Laenor Velaryon’s. Another scene that’s presented as if it shows Daemon and Rhaenyra to be good people because they spared someone by killing some no name, leading Laenor’s parents to believe their last living child was dead.
Probably because, like The Boys writers, they’ve made up this assertion that killing off a gay character is some Hollywood trope.

Another change I thought was dumb was making Alicent support Aegons claim due to a misunderstanding. We already had that scene of Otto telling her how important it is to have power to protect her kids, if she had actually lied or just put Aegon on the throne anyway it would make perfect sense because she knows Rhaenyra and Daemon on the throne means her sons are never safe. Having her be motivated by a misinterpretation of Viserys words instead of wanting to protect her kids is just dumb, and it's another showrunner addition trying to force the blacks as in the right and the good guys like Laenors moronic fakeout death
This show feels like a lifetime original series made for woman anyway. It has a completely different feel than GoT. Even if ASOIAF was already finished it would be mid.

Nah it was one of her ex friends on reddit spilling all the info, but once it blew up they deleted their reddit. The friend was from her original friend group she had when she first moved to London, but she monkey branched to another group once she found success with hotd. Actors need to be very careful when being cast in such a big role and the way they treat people because of it.
