Blood and cheese are literally in the trailer with torches. Cheese is apparently not aware of what they are there to do though only blood. I’m assuming he’s the one being beaten to death by Aegon in the trailer and blood gets away.
>Kinoest actor dies >I lost all my interest in the series
The same happened with Bobbie B and Ned, I have rewatched the first seasons a million times, and I couldn't get past all the amateur shit later.
The king’s performance carried the first season and that bullshit with the dragon bursting out of the floor was a sign of things to come. I have no interest in another season of Dollar General game of thrones. It’s actually incredible how much of a lazy frick GRRM is.
I was expecting a bigger reaction to the trailers coming out as well. That’s the risk of having such a long break between seasons I guess, interest will ramp back up once it starts airing.
My worst fears are confirmed. They cut EVERYONE. We won't even get half of the Riverlands plot, a drop of the Reach, Vale and North in the form of cameos but nothing of the Westerlands, Iron Isles and Essos.
All that potential for kino, only for it to be turned into a soap opera with a big CGI budget. Normies will eat this up and the ASOIAF channels will refuse to comment on how shit it is until the show is over.
I'm a bookgay who spent too much making theories and ideas on how to adapt it back in season 1. The entire Reach, Westerlands, Iron Isles, Vale, Wall/Beyond the Wall and Essos is cut. The most we'll get out of the above is maybe the appearance of some surviving members in KL at the end and maybe a brief conversation cameo.
The actual politicking subplot within the Reach especially the lead up to the Honeywine is gone since the ground work had to be done before the war.
Without even including my ideas for a slave revolt subplot to explain the events on Fair Isle or filling certain plot holes using Emory Hill and Clarent Crakehall, the Iron Isles vs Westerlands subplot that stretches into the Regency with the civil war amongst the Ironborne will never reach the screen.
Rhea Royce's death being retconned to intentional homicide by Daemon completely misunderstands his character and paints him as an evil villain for no reason other than shock value. It also removes the potential for a multi season subplot with Gunthor Royce as a conspirator and the Vale civil war which occurs in the Regency that starts off with the ambiguous cause of Rhea's death.
We will never see Cregan retake Winterfell or the perfect "settling differences for the greater good" ending for Bennard and Cregan when they push back against the Wildling invasion. Even if you don't want to do the Secret Stark Civil War subplot that explains the unusual famine or any theories as to why the Wildlings are pushing south, it would've been a good narrative ending for Cregan.
The most we will get out of Essos is maybe the Battle of the Gullet. Triachy politics, the rise and fall of House Rogare, the Daughter's War with the veterans of the Dance, etc will never be written on any script let alone shot.
I haven't even touched Ned Bean, Hugo Vance, missing stories within Kings Landing or any magical aspects that were cut out. This could've been superior to GOT instead it'll just be a cheap copy.
Thank you for the detailed answer. I too have read the book but I need to go back and read the Dance with Dragons section again. It all kind of blends together as with the whole Targaryen history. I have no doubt it won't be as kino as early GoT but few things are. I thought the first season of HotD was decent but not exceptional
My point isn't that my ideas are the only acceptable way to adapt the story, they're just an example of the kind of depth and complexity the writers could've added in response to all the people claiming the show was a decent adaptation. We could've had so much more which is evident if you look at the canon content without my inputs. 90% of my suggestions are just adding a bit of depth to the characters. Like Owen Costayne, unlike Alan Beesbury or Alan Tarly, he has no canon motivation for being a Black. He rebelled against his liege so it had to be serious. I suggested the three of them be friends that grew up in Horne Hill as squires to Donald Tarly, Alan's dad. That explains their friendship but for Owen I just added that he was madly in love with Samantha Tarly. Donald could and should've allowed the marriage but because of Hightower marriage pact plots, Samantha was off limits last minute. Seeing her married off to an old frick like Ormund, his liege, would've added so much resentment. The war gave him an opportunity to kill Ormund in battle and marry Samantha.
I think that's a good use of a footnote character and we don't need flashbacks or a timeskip to show all of the above. Just give him a secret "my love, I'll find a way" conversation with Samantha in the maze of hedges at Highgarden during the Tyrell funeral episode and signal that they all grew up together in dialogue throughout the show.
More episodes costs more money
They wanted more episodes but D&D said no and wouldn't hand it over to anyone else. They wanted to end it themselves. With HOTD, the execs still want more content, they're fricking making Dunk and Egg, but this is apparently the most they can squeeze out of the books. We can't really blame them. It's a team of normies, they were never going to even get it let alone have the ability to create something equal to early GOT.
Well that's an investment but d&d rushed everything for their Star wars triology.
Whiich they didn't get. They burned money on the 3 bodies show which is insane.

To put it in perspective, imagine if they made GOT season 1 like HOTD. >make it full of timeskips from the marriage of Robert to Cersei to Ned's death >show the Greyjoy rebellion and give it minimal screen time >cutout anyone who's not relevant to the King's Landing POV >slowly show Bobby B getting fatter every episode >Cersei is innocent of any wrong doing >Jaime doesn't push Bran, he accidentally scares Bran who falls by himself but we don't see the rest of Winterfell >the Janos Slynt/City Watch stuff gets a brief mention in a conversation once >turn Baelish into a coomer with a ginger fetish
The rest of the show is worse. >don't show Robb at all, not even a name drop to show he exists, maybe a cameo for Edmund but that's it >no Reach, no Vale, no Iron Isles, no Dorne or Essos. >end the show with the coronation of Tommen
I hope you now get an idea of how moronic this adaptation is.
>The entire Reach, Westerlands, Iron Isles, Vale, Wall/Beyond the Wall and Essos is cut
Of course, we got the same shit with GoT. So much intrigue in other areas was cut too. Dicking around in Dorne is the death knells of GoT.
GOT slowly began cutting larger sections of the story as time progressed until the end of season 4, after which they said frick it and went off book anyways, but they still kept enough for it to still be a multi POV story. HOTD cut so much it can't even have a true multi POV story, just a few scenes outside of KL with the KL cast anyways like we'll get of the North.
>The entire Reach, Westerlands, Iron Isles, Vale, Wall/Beyond the Wall and Essos is cut
Of course, we got the same shit with GoT. So much intrigue in other areas was cut too. Dicking around in Dorne is the death knells of GoT.
I seriously doubt they're cutting the Riverlands storyline when they already established the Blackwood-Bracken feud that people who had only watched GOT wouldn't have known about
Overcomplicating the show is going to lead to a got tier finale where they are unable to tie up every character's arc properly
Better take it small and focus on making the characters we already have develop in satisfying ways
It should've been 7 solid seasons without any timeskips, 1 pre war season with the events of ep 8-10 in KL + cut material like Emory Hill's story, the Reach subplot revolving around the funeral of Lord Tyrell and Donald Tarly, Cregan retaking Winterfell, Dalton in the Stepstones merged in with Corlys with the Ned Bean/Essos stuff to tie in the events narratively.
3 full seasons of the Dance and then 3 full seasons of the Regency. Basically every subplot has a conclusive ending at the end of the Regency with good themes. If the writers thought they could adapt 7 seasons they would've but they genuinely can't. That's the only explanation, they're just midwits.
Is this confirmed?! I'm not following the news.
They have 8 episodes, none of what I said was even hinted in the trailers or the leaks so it's basically all but confirmed. This is a dumbed down version of an already dumbed down summary of events. You'll have your expensive CGI dragon battle and it will keep the normies entertained but this isn't even trying to emulate the quality of the early seasons of GOT let alone the main ASOIAF books.
I should correct myself. The Emory Hill thing isn't cut, it was my idea of how to tie up some plot holes and add some depth to the surrounding characters. Cut material in KL would be like stuff like the division within the City Watch with characters like Luthor Largent and Gwayne Hightower.
>8 episodes
I didnt knew... It's fricking over now but I knew something was wrong after the last few episodes.
It literally could and should be 7 seasons of 13 episodes, a total of 91 episodes which is 18 more than what we got with GOT to put it in perspective.
House of the Dragons is insanely overrated because at the same time the horrendous The Rings of Power was airing. Frankly, quality wise, it's not even remotely close to the first seasons of GOT
>it's not even remotely close to the first seasons of GOT
The first season stands head and shoulders above the rest
GOT S1 > HOD S1 > GOT S2-4 > my poop > GOT S5&6 > GOT S7&8
A guy from hbo once argued on Twitter with a fake account about something yes. The fact you continue to think anyone cares about us or our viewership of a show continues to astound me.
I hate alicent because the show tries so hard to take all blame for starting the war off her. she would have been a much better character if she actually wanted power and a throne for her son. rhaenys is beyond salvation at this point.
>I hate alicent because the show tries so hard to take all blame for starting the war off her. she would have been a much better character if she actually wanted power and a throne for her son.
She simply wants what is best for everyone and we will not send assassinations, send a political delegation.
Mushroom Just wrote for the lulz and the scandals. Maybe some of his infos were real, but mixed with so much made-up shit to cause outrage its impossible to sit the true from the fake
>the show tries so hard to take all blame for starting the war off her
they do this with other characters too, eg Aemond killing Luke
they're afraid to make anyone do actual bad things, everyone must be likeable
I'm more mad about Aemond's treatment they made Luke's killing accident in the show but in the books it was intentional. After killing him he even went down found his corpse and took away his both eyes
>“We did not get to spend a lot of time with Aemond, Helaena, Jace, Baela, or Rhaena. […] we wanted to immediately shine the spotlight on them and get into their internal lives and what they make of all of this.”
Is this Jace's last season?
So who's going to be the great generals of this season? In GOT, we had Stannis, Tywin, Robb, Jon, Randyll FRICKING Tarly. I someone to point at a map and explain how he's going to do some crazy Battle of Cannae encirclement.
Aemond and Criston as a team in the beginning before they split and it all turns to shit. Daemon, Corlys (from the sea), Cregan, Jace (to some extent), Borros.
luke did not die. the dragon's teeth grazed his body ripping off his clothes and wounding him. he fell to the sea and washed up on a shore where an orphan teenboy with blond hair and blue eyes found and brought him to his cottage and nursed him. luke got amnesia but he's alive and well and he and the boy with blond hair and blue eyes are doing ... stuff.
Blood and Cheese first episode S2
doesn't harrenhale fall first before B&C?
maybe but don't argue with me pls
They are saying that Daemon himself will sneak into the tower and kill the kid
Blood and cheese are literally in the trailer with torches. Cheese is apparently not aware of what they are there to do though only blood. I’m assuming he’s the one being beaten to death by Aegon in the trailer and blood gets away.
Cheese is the one torturing Helaena. He knows.
I choose Daemon. Women do not belong in positions of power, and neither do coomers.
I still haven’t watched a single second of it. Never gonna.
Same, and simply cuz of Black person cast and I couldn't even care less
Seconded
>/hotd/ will be back
We did it Cinemaphile
Aemond sisters, stand back and stand by.
>barely a few seconds of Aemond in the trailer
We were robbed.
>Kinoest actor dies
>I lost all my interest in the series
The same happened with Bobbie B and Ned, I have rewatched the first seasons a million times, and I couldn't get past all the amateur shit later.
I think they should have flashbacks with Viserys due to his amazing performance.
Flashbacks were something GOT didn't do, I hope they do for this show.
Flashbacks are for soys unable to move on and want excessive copy-paste scenes to feed their fried dopamine receptors.
no frick that shit and frick you, it's the laziest storytelling device
The king’s performance carried the first season and that bullshit with the dragon bursting out of the floor was a sign of things to come. I have no interest in another season of Dollar General game of thrones. It’s actually incredible how much of a lazy frick GRRM is.

You cared enough to respond homosexual.
Blackchad here.
for it to jump the shark?
>”Aegon is a usurp-ACK!!”
>IT WAS A JOK-
what's going on here?
Aegon beating the shit out of Blood and or Cheese.
Theo Von looking different here
>coming out in 2 months
>zero hype
No one even gives a shit about the trailers that just came out.
Where did it all go so wrong?
I was expecting a bigger reaction to the trailers coming out as well. That’s the risk of having such a long break between seasons I guess, interest will ramp back up once it starts airing.
They were worried after Season 8 and the failed prequels, next season should be sooner
>first scene of season 2 just leaked
lel

can you elaborate on this? I haven't been keeping up with any HotD news. Last I heard Miguel Sepulchnik or whatever was leaving
Is that true? If so thank god that guys battle scenes are marvel tier

it's closer to season 2 of GOT.

in the book mushroom says she sucked off the old king when she was 12
>mushroom says she sucked off the old king when she was 12
Mushroom also said Luke is alive.
he also implied daemon killed the bronze b***h which he did on the show
And Joffrey's foot went missing (was probably used for some ritual or something)
Wait what happened to Joffrey's foot?

Totally forgot about this honestly, I think I'll just watch the Aemond episodes.

>Is this Jace's last season?
Isn't Gullet next season?
This season only has 8 episodes so he most likely dies in the next season (max in ep 3)
I just hate blacks and w*men
Simple as
Green chad
Book Rhaenys had a black hair
Also we don't know if book Aemma had a silver hair or brown hair
Here's a new proof that they're Laenor's:
>Rhaenyra: blue eyes

Also, the crown in the pic looks terrible. Why can't they make something regal and imposing? It shouldn't be that difficult.
i stopped watching when they killed luke he was the only reason i watched luke was so icsh
>we will never see luke and jace hug ever again

luke did not die. the dragon's teeth grazed his body ripping off his clothes and wounding him. he fell to the sea and washed up on a shore where an orphan teenboy with blond hair and blue eyes found and brought him to his cottage and nursed him. luke got amnesia but he's alive and well and he and the boy with blond hair and blue eyes are doing ... stuff.
Can’t you guys simp for Jace or Cregan this season and not scare everyone away from the general
Tom Taylor (Cregan) is super handsome hot. I hope we get to see Cregan and Jace hugging and kissing each other.
Whatever floats your boat anon he’s over 18 that’s all that matters.
team luke forever
>book autism
ASIOAF is good, GoT is very good.
The stuff that is being adapted here is bad or mid. I'm so glad they are changing stuff.
Aegon is going to steal the show
Aegon the broken
His acting looks great in the trailer so far, he wasn’t given enough scenes in season one to fully see his potential.
Will Vermax lay eggs in the north?
🙁
she’s sewing Jaehaerys’s funeral shroud /
On closer inspection I think Twitter was wrong about this, Helaena is sewing velvet with trim. Looks more like a dress.
AMATERASU
I hate how shows now release sixteen episodes over the course of four years
LE PRESTIGE TELEVISION
Law and Order my beloved produces a regular amount every year
This isn't funny anymore, where is Daeron?
Who?
So it will be Baela & Rhaenys vs Aegon & Aemond?
This might make greens gain popularity, no one will root for the ugly nogs vs gigachad emo anime Aemond
GODS I was strong then
No cute Monke = no watch
