Most of them much like people ITT don't understand the first thing about Lovecraft other than cultural osmosis, memes, and some made up mental image they have of him in ther head based on maybe having read like 1 or two shortstories and a few spicy letter excerpts without having actually studied the historical context with any real depth.

It's a serious problem with academia on the topic of most "genre fiction" authors and genres and key works honestly. It's all either projecting metaphorical homosexuals or projecting literal homosexuals less interested in actually studying a work or author and more interested in making the same "bold, progressive claim/examination that reveals the truth of the work" that other people have already been making for the past 100+ years depending on the work in question. And their only challengers are usually like 3 youtubers who are probably also projecting or literary fiction academia who are sneering morons who managed to turn themselves into a cargo cult because they didn't understand the difference between realism and cultural or philosophical relevancy.

Its just homosexuals making up their own headcanons and sneering at eachother all the way down. Another great example is Carmilla where morons have literally held university panels asking if one of the first vampire novels key figure who drinks blood is a vampire or not while accepting as gospel that she's a lesbian and the book is about the patriachal oppression of lesbians.

For context, Carmilla being bisexual is a key plot point, Lesbian wasn't even a word at the time, and pre-Eugenics Victorians did not give a frick if teenage girls were fricking eachother because it was straight up considered nonsexual and nonromantic if it was two girls, hence why the protagonist's father can repeatedly walk in on them making out and doesn't give a frick.

It's nothing but this bullshit. And Lovecraft has by far the fricking worst of it.

they unironically think he was a tran because he didn't like the way he looked. which is wierd to claim when his family had a history of mental illness and his mother dressed him and treated him like a girl when he was young, seems counter to the goals of the aforementioned group.

He's popular with everyone. Lovecraft is a cultural icon to the point that he's a genre of vibes on his own.
You don't need to be a connaisseur to recognize lovecraftian themes, it's part of our cultural background radiation like king Arthur or superheroes.

        Cinemaphile here.

In complete seriousness they don't,they hate him personally, but they also can't get away from the fact that the core theme he had speaks to them like it does many, many other people. Radical lefties and wannabe pseuds try to blither and seethe about racism to look smart but that was the science of his day and one look at his friend group and wife, a bunch of closeted gays, minorities, and assorted outcasts and sexual deviants, blows that idea to hell beyond what survivorship bias [TLDR: Lovecraft has a disproportionate amount of documentation surviving from his time period, most shit got recycled during the world wars], can plaster over.

Lovecraft's work is fundamentally about himself, a fragile intellectual for his day with many myriad mental problems, lived in a world where he found himself caught between a humanistic, emotional understanding of history and human advancement and societal good VS a scientific, reasoned understanding of those things that he considered to be at a complete impasse and that if he were to ever have a definitive answer to it he personally would go fricking insane because either human compassion is an irrelevant bit of drivel before a universe of reason and ergo humans are incompatible with the truth and flawed, degenerate beings, or all our achievements and enlightened advancements have done nothing but proliferate suffering while accomplishing nothing of value as far as he was concerned, and he thought he personally could not fricking handle that.

Most of them are projecting their own views on what Lovecraft represented, but a lot of them realize subconsciously that they have a similar duality to their worldview THEY could likely not be able to handle if the curtain was pulled away. So they're drawn to an emotional outlet that is relatable and articulates that feeling.

Are there even humans with "superpowers" in Lovecraftian mythos?
Most hybrids seem to get their powers after they turn, like Innsmouth folk (if they weren't Eldritch beings from the start, like in the Dunwich Horror), I don't remember any regular human having any sort of power.
Asenath (or rather Ephraim) was Innsmouth folk, so the magic came from that?

No not in the lovecraftian mythos itself (though there is an evil wizard in one I think).

Wasn't it a real Egyptian book?

          Anonymous

Well, not so much one book as several independent works gathering partially contradictory burial rituals and instructions for how to construct a grave.
More accurately would be "the book of coming forth by day" as it is mainly concerned with the soul ascending through the chambers into the sunlight.
It's a very hopeful myth around the raising of souls, not too dissimilar to the Christian idea of souls ascending to Heaven.
Which naturally meant that racist Brits translated it badly and spread the idea of mummies coming to life and killing people, understanding this book(s) of burial rites and religious beliefs as some tome of dark magic.

So in this case, Lovecraft's Necronomicon is actually less racist because it is a completely fictional work and not a vilified part of Egyptian religion.

Hmm, normally I complain internet cartoons are trying too hard to be normal cartoons with 20+ minute episodes but I don't think you can have a narrative that isn't pure comedy breath in 1 minute-long episodes. I could be wrong, daystone was able to make 1-2 minute episodes work but this show feels like it's gonna need a bit more time to breath.

77 posts and none of them are intelligent.

So the graphics themselves; shading, lighting, shadows look decent with an action cartoon's budget, looks better than Bunnicula that only did gradient and very temporary lighting effects.

    Aaaand it's shit...
Voice actor doesn't match the character, a bigger misfit than Harriet The Spy.
She has a pseudo alter ego who only takes over during the fight, so not even alter ego just a manic personality.
They introduced piece of shit nagging parents unaware of supernatural shit excuse yourself? if the mother doesn't get kidnapped or killed then this is going to get very formulaic and tedious.

Most importantly they instantly skipped the action scene with a cut to the window like the budgetless morons they are and this was for the first 1 minute so if they can't even make 10 seconds worth of dynamic animation like Glitchtechs, MonkieKid, Motorcity did then I very much doubt this series will go anywhere as an action show if it doesn't have budget for the action.

SFX overpowers the music which again is bad directing.
And they insisted on using those Steven Universe toaster noses, meaty fingers, and an attempt at some Samurai Jack/Secret of Kells russian designs with those eyes, ears, cheeks, round baby skullshapes? I like the 2000s colored outlines and neon colors constantly contrasting with the black, but it's half full.

There's an interesting "fleas" texture effect going on which you don't even realize is there.
Shit like 0:37-0:44 should have been extended with at least 10 seconds each if you wanted to create a slow movie-like atmosphere. So far it's just rushed. You can't even hear the music because of how rushed it is.
