Captain Marvel was released a month before Endgame, and Disney shills were broadcasting online that it was necessary viewing to understand Endgame, and that if you didn't watch Captain Marvel you would be totally lost watching Endgame and have your Endgame movie experience ruined.
I worked in a movie theatre when Captain Marvel came out. Every one I worked with was a Marvel obsessed dweeb and that was their take before Captain Marvel was released. They were all speculating on what the movie would be about and how it would tie into Endgame because they knew Captain Marvel was going to be necessary for the Endgame plot. It literally was billed that way to audiences. Stupid fricking zoomer. Just because it wasn't shilled like that on Cinemaphile doesn't mean it was the same way in the real world. Go touch grass homosexual.
TLJ actually held the record for worst performing sequel of all time, it made 700 million less than TFA. The Marvels shattered it though, so congrats to them.
Disney inflated first captain marvel film box office because was during the deal with Fox. If the box office was bad, Disney would had less power and Fox would have asked for more money because of risks with the merging.
Absolute peak of the MCU story wise at the time. The hype was absolutely insane. The Marvels was promoted piss-poorly, especially after being pushed back to a late Fall release.
the marvels released at the time of captain marvel would also make around a billie. Analogically, captain marvel released today would flop like a motherfricker
Audiences didn't have any idea Captain Marvel would be as unappealing as it was. They also didn't know Brie would be insufferable and box office poison.
They knew when The Marvels came out and avoided it.
Fans were led to believe they had to watch it in order to follow the larger storyline.
winrar
This. It was part of the build up to purple dudes ending and people didn't want to miss out.
also people forget to mention that it lireally has MARVEL in its title, such an easy and guaranteed mass marketing during the peak marvel hype
>I watch capeshit for the storylines
I didn't think I could think any less of these braindead butthole
the marvels is basically an indian film
Captain Marvel was advertised as necessary viewing to understand Avengers: Endgame.
Captain Marvel was a good film
The Marvels was a bad film
they were both bad but the first one was released at the perfect time
1 is objectively 3/5 okay to good movie. You chuds just freak when you see a female fronted movie.
(You)
Congrats
people wanted the white b***h as their star
not the indian or black b***h
Fool me once, etc.
Capeshit is dying. The world is healing
Amen brother
for as long as it means we wont return to crimeslop
The wall comes fast.
First movie was sandwiched between Infinity War and Endgame.
I'm not sitting through an entire Disney + show before seeing a movie.
in a franchise you always have to ask
>what was the movie released right before
eg, TLJ only made so much money because TFA was well received

Nobody actually said it was essential viewing lol

They were coasting on the Endgame hype, now the tide has gone out and everyone can see Marvel's cold shriveled dick.

>Captain Marvel BO: $1.131 billion
Damn, that's some expensive body odor.
>Captain Marvel BO
Imagine the smell
the studios own the theaters. box office numbers are made up for marketing and to cover tax fraud.
People only want to see Brie duh
Samuel L. Jackson, of course
