I watched the latest one with Rick and Micheonne - it was good but I couldn't decide who was a zombie with both of them eating eachothers faces all the time, it was a little over the top. Also it was really hard to follow, probably didn't help that I skipped the other 18 previous seasons though
I stopped watching ten years ago after finishing season 4. Literally nothing of value is lost if you don’t watch any further.

If you’re not that in to it, I would say it doesn’t really matter with the exception of Deep Space 9 and the last 2 seasons of Enterprise because they’re more serialised. Also TNG for the most part is fine to do that but there are certain storylines that continue every season.
